Absolutely one of, ....if not the best live shows I have ever seen. I saw them a day ago with slipknot, I'm a slipknot fan since before Corey taylor was in the band and as much as it hurts to say this...these guys stole the show man....amazing band, mesmerizing live.

Usually Jean-Michel (bass) is the active one :P moves around a lot, Christian usually stays back and just gets into his guitar. And they are between death metal and groove metal I would say. They frequently mix both, that's why you can't put them in just a genre, their first 2 albums were almost straight death metal

Well there's some other more aggressive and somewhat extreme songs from them. And still, we can't put them in one single label. Incredible band!

It depends what point in their career you're talking about. They've always been a mix of Death Metal, Progressive, Groove and little bit of Thrash. Their early albums are far more Death Metal, with some technical, progressive elements. Their later albums are even more progressive, less extreme, and more melodic (especially their latest album Magma). Overall though, they can't be nailed down to just 1 genre. The're just... Gojira, and it's magic :D \m/

I've seen them usually catalogued as progressive death metal but they have a pretty varied and unique style. This song in particular is not their heaviest.
