Tyagarajar lived on the banks of Kaveri in a combined telugu-tamil state and was an ardent devotee of Lord Sriram.. All his kirtanas are in Telugu.
Tamilians today enliven and infuse life into Carnatic music while Telugu people are pompous and are easily influenced by Western culture.
Telugus don't know what they're losing by neglecting classical music.
Totally ashamed of being a Telugu in this regard but would like to thank my Tamil brothers for their unflinching service to Carnatic music.
