I sought out a professional MUA who was around pre-TH-cam tutorials when I wanted to learn the basics for my own face, and she put me on to these so-called new "trends" that apparently have been around forever. I love when it gets talked about because there is a lot of misinformation floating about.

I'm excited to get more into makeup than my basic brows, foundation, mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick.
YES jackie!! i saw a girl the other day that didn't have any obvious redness, had barely visible dark circles and all round pretty good skin and she just put SO much correcter on where it wasn't needed and so so so heavily.
I use the La girl orange corrector and you are right, you have to be light with the hand. No one wants to be out here looking like an Oompa Loompa. Thanks for another great video, Jackie!

i will ALWAYS be a subscriber of yours because you're so REAL! I traded in my freelancing hat to manage an Ulta store where I live a year ago and DAILY i get girls who come in and all they need is a little concealer, but they're asking me where the orange correctors are. To the point that I now respond with "Are you looking for it because you saw it on IG/YT? Because you DON'T need it". things become this fad of a trend and these girls out here eat it up then wonder why their makeups orange or cakey or why their clown contour never comes out right. i love that you tell people what's artistry vs. what's necessary.

I get sooo confused with color correcting. I'm not even positive I NEED to color correct, by other makeup artists standards. I feel like I look at my face and see tons of stuff to correct but I have no idea. This was helpful tho, so thank you! Also, you are glowing today! ✨
My biggest struggle has always been finding the right dark peach/orange corrector. I'm classified in the MAC NC44.5/C7 area (at times, in NC45), but the L.A. Girl corrector is actually too strong. It makes my skin look darker, which defeats the purpose, even when I use a light hand. Sometimes I try using powder correctors, like MAC's CC Loose Powder in 'Recharge' or the Shaping Powder in 'Warm Light"; even Ben Nye's 'Coco Tan'. They help some, but I want to find something that's just right for my skin tone that's liquid and has the staying power like the Pro Longwear concealers; especially to combat my oily lids and dark circles. I have several other orangey cream correctors, but I haven't quite found exactly what I'm looking for. If only there were a Pro Longwear Corrector that came in several corrective shade options like the concealer line. Or maybe there is, but I just don't know it yet. *_Sigh!_ A girl came dream.

I recently watched a color correcting video that was sponsored by someone who I've never seen color correct at all. It was hard to watch because you could tell the person wasn't use to doing it. In the end due to not blending she looked kind of orange but I dare not say anything because youtube trolls can get nasty whenyou give feedback. So, I'm glad you did this video and are well informed about it.

I love how color correcting is being called trendy, and the exception to makeup routines. As someone who has rosaecea & keratosis pilaris....I've been using green and subtle color correcting since I was in eighth grade. It's just funny to me! But this video was so spot on about it, and so enriching. Amazing.
