I am so proud of Grishina, That girl shined! I’m so happy she showed her potential to be up there with world class gymnasts, It really shatters my heart that she didn't make it to worlds that year.
It's great to see all the girls hit their routines to the best of their abilities. Highlights for me: Larisa's beam and floor, Aliya's floor and vault, Bulimar's floor, Giulia Steingruber's vault, floor and beam (she's surprisingly graceful for one so powerful), and Elisa Meneghini's impressive competition. It's something special to win in front of a home crowd and I'm so happy for Musty. She's proof that after possibly career-ending injuries a gymnast can still thrive. And that illness doesn't have to stop you either. I've never been able to get behind Grishina. She remains underwhelming, although objectively speaking she's a lovely and talented gymnast. She just isn't that interesting to me, so I don't really root for her. But hey, great competition for her. Great to see Khorkina and Latynina in the crowd. :)
With five years´ hindsight we can confidently call Iordache´s floor routine legendary. Great skills, nailed landings, super bouncy jump lines, lovely dance, elegance and spirit, everything was there.
Alexandrov was the head coach of the women's team in London as well as Mustafina's personal coach. The powers that be in the Russian Gymnastics Federation claimed that Alexandrov spent too much time training Mustafina and not enough time focusing on the other members of the team. They blame him for Russia's shortcomings at the Olympics, so they hired a new head coach. Alexandrov is still Mustafina's personal coach, though there were rumors that he was going to join Brazil's program.
00:10:23 for beam, 00:34:34 for floor 00:59:30 for vault 1:39:33 for uneven bars. You're welcome :) P.S. Have some Aliya cuteness overload 1:41:37 and some Grebs 1:42:50.
It amazes me how much difference something as simple as a great releve and great toe point makes in a gymnast. I wish the Americans would take some ballet classes! It really does make all the difference, I could watch Grish all day.
And of course we all know it’s ballet and not gymnastics. I’d take a less than stellar toe point and the ability to consistently HIT a routine over excellent toe point and constant errors. A combination of the two would be fine but these ladies who “have excellent toe point” seem unable to produce the clean execution of dance elements in particular- consistently.
Aliya is such a beautiful gymnast; she has the usual Russian panache and class, but I wish soooooooo much she would fix those ragged legs on elements like the triple twist:( it really does spoil what is an extremely aesthetically pleasing floor routine:(
Kaeslin has the same technique on her Tkachev as many of the chinese..... straddling their legs at the last possible second (the first one that comes to mind is Jiang Yuyuan, but Yang Yilin does it too)
I hope Hannah never becomes a commentator. -_- I think Musty was a little bit overscored on beam and Bulimar a little bit underscored, but I think that could be due to the SV, although Musty did not link all her skills together. I wish they would list the SV and the execution when they show the scores. That's the one and only thing that NBC coverage has that's better than BBC coverage.
in europeans there is a team final OR an all around finals each year. In 2012 they had team finals and event finals so in 2013 they have only all around finals and team finals. In 2014 there will be team finals etc
16:24, can someone tell me if that is the Lindsey Stirling version of Phantom of the Opera? If so that's awesome that someone is using her songs as a floor music.
I just saw a quote at Ala Moana. "If it's not good enough to be worlds best, it's not good enough." If you show me proof that you've won a medal and that you've beaten all of the greatest gymnast in time, then I might have some respect for you. Actually no. No athlete should ever have that kind of pride to say "Oh yeah, I'm better than EVERYONE." Do you think Nastia thought that way? Patterson? Retton? Douglas? For goodness sakes, no one would ever respect them if they said such a thing.
Does anybody know whose floor music is playing during Aliya Mustafina's vault? I recognize it and it's killing me that I can't remember whose music it is.
there's a link in the video description... Event Final Highlights... (all events MAG & WAG) would that be enough... or you want to see the full event final broadcasts...... cause I didn't upload them... sorry :(
I do not want a Russian gymnast to win, as RJ PD said, they are prima donnas, which basically means that they are so stuck up. In London, Komova thought she was going to win all-arounds, then she got a much-needed punch in the face by our very own Gabby Douglas, I love that girl!
No problem! :) That's why no one has the EF with coverage! XD I guess I'll stick with the BBC highlights ;) I really can't stand competitions without commentary, it's just.... a little boring.
If you noticed I responded before your new comment appeared, and mine was a response to your original so I obviously knew it was still there. I wasn't talking about the fact that Komova and Jordyn reacted the same, I was talking about the fact that you called both of them a diva. Calm down Rocky, save your energy for Apollo or Mr T.
=)) it's ok... and... I didn't want to disappoint you, BUT.... I haven't got any of the EF with the BBC commentators... the thing is that i couldn't watch or record the live broadcast and unfortunately it wasn't on the bbc iPlayer either, sooooo I could not download it. that's why I upload the EF highlights. it is not that bad.... they show like... three or four routines of each event, the ones that everyone wants to see... but it's not the full final sadly.... I'm really sorry... =(
Actually your second comment, the one that replaced the deleted is posted as 5 hours ago and did not appear in my inbox or my email until after I had already posted. Also I said you called both of them, not just Jordyn, divas meaning I don't agree with either of them being called that. That's what I've been objecting to the whole time. What does the second thing you said have to do with anything, your tone doesn't change it's still confrontational and passes the buck.
When did Jordyn ever say she thought she would win? The media certainly played that up, but she never did. She never even said she was a lock for the team.
I know.... and I'm really sorry I can't help :(.... enjoy the highlights then, it's all we've got left.... Have a lovely night or day,,,, wherever you are... bye bye
Seriously, why did you remove your comment? I knew it was sarcasm, the problem is it makes no sense in general. The way you worded it makes it seem like you were saying something obvious, making the reader think you believe what your saying.
I asked a simple question, worded pretty terribly, but a simple question to start a simple conversation. That, and saying things about the video, is what the comment section is for. With the help of youtube, you jumping to conclusions about my motives, and both of us overreacting in some places it created a perfect storm of nonsense. I don't know what I did to get that reaction from you, but I know not everyone has the same tolerance level as me, so I'm sorry too.
Oh my God the same thing happened to Jordyn Wieber in prelims. Guess that means she's a prima donna too. What do you know the US has prima donnas too. I wouldn't have guessed.
The commentators have such low expectations on scores. No wonder only the Russians and Romanians are the top gymnasts when other gymnasts from the other countries are earning scores in the 13's.
When did I say that Jordyn said she thought she was going to win? I said prelims (you don't win anything in prelims) which Jordyn MUST have thought she would have qualified at some point otherwise she had absolutely no confidence in herself. Anyways I wasn't referring to that part of the comments I was referring to when Kae Jones said that Komova "got a much needed punch in the face by our very own Gabby Douglas" just like Jordyn did in prelims. And in case you missed it I was being sarcastic.
Two wrongs don't make a right. I think this is the first time I've ever sworn on YT and no it doesn't make me a teenager it just means that I was pissed beyond my tolerance level. Teenagers aren't the only ones allowed to swear. At least you have the comfort in believing that you were so much "better" than me in your behavior. Get real. And by the way saying that it is 'implied' is not putting words in someones mouth however, saying that they 'said' is.
Can you please give an example of how their ROUTINES show how they're stuck up? At all? Please don't buy into the over dramatizing of the Olympics brought to you by NBC. As for Gabby's "punch in the face" to Komova, I seriously doubt she thought further than "I need to do my best because we are all very talented gymnasts."
Bringing in Jordyn was showing her the irony of her statement maybe I shouldve added Maroney too. Didn't you call me a teenager who was PMSing. That was rude and ironically sounds like something a teenager would say. I enjoy having healthy discussions about gymnasts even when there's disagreement but when the namecalling starts I'm going to respond in kind. You forget you also put words in my mouth. And I really would appreciate it in future if you didn't respond to any of my comments.
Well we're definitely seeing different things because mine in saying 17 hours ago I had forgotten to put in Gabby's name so I removed it put in her name and reposted. The fact that you're only replying to my comment when worse has been said about Komova in the comment area implies you agree with it. I was being sarcastic others weren't. Like I said before people are going to think whatever they want no matter your response. I can definitely say the same thing about your tone
I agree with the protesters against Menghini's score, it was totally unfair. Usually, I would respect their decisions, just like Kira Baker does, but certainly not in this sense. That gymnast stuck almost every one of those landings, but as you can see, the scores didn't say so.
If you're going to call one person a prima donna for their reaction then its only fair to call the other the same thing for the same reaction. Both Komova and Jordyn behaved the same way (cried)when they did not get what they wanted. Jordyn wanted to qualify and Komova wanted the gold. Personally I have no problem with people crying whether its because of disappointment or happiness but like I said what goes for one should go for the other.
I can't promise anything because I don't bother holding grudges, if I do feel free to ignore it. I understand trying to defend yourself and I'm not going to begrudge you that. I am going to say that you took it a lot farther then I did by resorting to swearing, which sounds a lot more like a teenager then anything I did. I also see how my initial comment can be seen as putting words in your mouth, but again it wasn't nearly to the same extent you did. Have a nice day.
The American commentators point out both good and bad things in a routine. I think that's good, because then you also know why someone didn't get a high execution score.
Romanians already had Steliana Nistor, Ana Porgras... Why couldn't they improve the level of bars of their all-around stars? Maybe it can't be world-class, but at least something that won't hold them back.
I never wanted to fight with you to begin with. I already gave you my reason for commenting.I don't think I ever gave any indication that I agreed with what they said about Komova, and I don't see how not liking what you said does that. My problem was that bringing Jordyn in to the conversation was kind of pointless, that's all. If I had known you would take such offense, escalate it so far, and put words in my mouth I wouldn't have said anything at all.
Great commentary from the BBC as always but I'd love for them to ask about the Romanian names before they transmit. Iordache is "ior - da - che" and the "che" is pronounced as "ke" in "kenya". Bulimar is easier but they still pronounce it wrong sometimes as "bu - li - mor". Doesn't BBC employ a linguist, why not ask him about phonetic languages like Romanian, or ask another romance language commentator, a Spanish or an Italian how it's pronounced.
Here’s the thing- ACCENT and the manner in which certain letters and words are pronounced. Every commentator has a tendency to mispronounce many foreign names just because of the language and pronunciation differences.
If you noticed my comment was posted 17 hours ago while your response was posted 7 hours ago so mine obviously appeared first. If you don't think Jordyn should be called the same thing for the same behavior that's your opinion and I couldn't care less. Based on your response I can tell you didn't read the second part of my comment. It makes your comment on me calming down even more ridiculous than it is.
Let me get this straight you cant ignore something I said about a gymnast and yet you expect me to ignore the crap you said about me. How does that make sense to you? If my comment bothered you so much "all you had to do was ignore it". And the teenager bit was the least of what you said. But I was wrong in calling you those names and I apologize.

Why didn’t she, injuries?
Aliya is a superb European Champion; she is so consistent over all four disciplines. Amazing.
OMG, Mustafina has proved to have become such a mature and beautiful well rounded gymnast. That bars routine was breath taking.
Always love Mustafina's double Arabian to stag leap. just beautiful!!
Larisa's floor routine is absolutely breathtaking; shes so fast, so light, so supple. Extraordinary talent. Also Belu is a genius:)
Me hubiera gustado ver más de Grishina, era maravillosa, un cisne volando ❤❤❤❤
Aliya es un espectáculo ❤❤❤
It's great to see all the girls hit their routines to the best of their abilities. Iordache is such a beatiful gymnast😍😍
She was up until she's full of plastics now.
Larissa Iordache is so beautiful and powerful... She may not be the best, but she is so fabulous to watch.

My gosh! How many time has Mustafina just stuck that vault cold?! WOW!
00:10:23 for beam, 00:34:34 for floor 00:59:30 for vault 1:39:33 for uneven bars. You're welcome :) P.S. Have some Aliya cuteness overload 1:41:37 and some Grebs 1:42:50.
Yes I agree Aliya is a really good gymnast, artistically
No problem! Thank you so muchhhh!!!

Russians is outstanding they are good in choreography and gymnastic , nobody can be close to them in choreography
My scores for...
...Vault:
Noel Van Klaveren: 14.600
Ruby Harrold: 14.450
Elisa Haemmerle: 13.990
Giorgia Campana: 14.100

Elisa Meneghini: 14.700
...Beam:
Larisa Andreea Iodache: 14.550
Aliya Mustafina: 14.890
Diana Laura Bulimar: 15.120
...Uneven Bars:
Charlie Fellows: 14.400
...Floor:
Giulia Steingruber: 15.400
Aliya was such a master at unique combinations on beam!
I really want to be as good at gymnastics as Simone Biles and Kyla Ross is....after thousands of years of training in heaven I will be.
Ok, good for you, but this is an european championship -_-
Thank you so much! BBC and great video quality :-)
so have i!!! thank you so much :)
Aliya is such a beautiful gymnast; she has the usual Russian panache and class, but I wish soooooooo much she would fix those ragged legs on elements like the triple twist:( it really does spoil what is an extremely aesthetically pleasing floor routine:(
Take your time, I can wait :)
Kaeslin has the same technique on her Tkachev as many of the chinese..... straddling their legs at the last possible second (the first one that comes to mind is Jiang Yuyuan, but Yang Yilin does it too)
I've already seen this, but not in a language that I speak. Thanks!
lol @ 17:34 if you listen closely you can hear someone has Lindsey Stirlings "Phantom of the Opera" as their floor music.
It's ok, I prefer the full broadcast, but if you don't have time or don't want to, it's fine ;)
The UB final is ready..... but I'm afraid the rest will be on till next weekend ;)... (link in the description)
I respect the judge's scoring, but I feel that Meneghini's score ( 18:29 ) was a little underscored. Especially because of those beautiful landings.
But she had wobbles and wobbles costs you points and that’s why meneghini got 14.0 on beam
there was no team final this year
I hope Hannah never becomes a commentator.

Not at all.... thanks for watching and sorry if I didn't upload it soon enough ;)
Love larisa! And elisa meneghini is just a little cutie:D
So they never realize that the 2012 Jr European champion is actually Enus Mariani and not Elisa?
Wish Kristian would talk a bit more.
Anyone notice Svetlana Khorkina in the audience at 46:04 ?
Does anybody know whose floor music is playing during Aliya Mustafina's vault? I recognize it and it's killing me that I can't remember whose music it is.
what is with the tights did they make them start making them wearing them
there's a link in the video description... Event Final Highlights... (all events MAG & WAG) would that be enough... or you want to see the full event final broadcasts...... cause I didn't upload them... sorry :(

Who is wearing tights? I have never seen a gymnast wear tights. Perhaps youre seeing ankle/knee/shin wraps?
All the 5.8 vaults that are yourchenko's I have ever seen never received higher than 15, even though some are near perfect
No problem! :) That's why no one has the EF with coverage! XD I guess I'll stick with the BBC highlights ;) I really can't stand competitions without commentary, it's just.... a little boring.
Grishina Mustafina , Komova I can each them again and again as a famous art
do they call handsprings flicks?
Hey :) Sorry for being REALLY picky, but do you have the EF with commentary?
Damn, Elisa Meneghini is really impressive.
Do you have EF?? I'm dyingggg to see EF!
I didn't say anything bad about Komova, what the are you talking about? Are you getting me confused with the person who initially commented on?
No entiendo por qué no se reproduce en mi PC

BRAVO ROMANIA
Has Hannah already retired?
Speechless now, huh?
When did Jordyn ever say she thought she would win? The media certainly played that up, but she never did. She never even said she was a lock for the team.
Where are USA ????

where is komova?
I think she was either sick or had injuries.
I asked a simple question, worded pretty terribly, but a simple question to start a simple conversation. That, and saying things about the video, is what the comment section is for. at 1:00:00 i hear Carly patterson's 2004 floor music :)
Yeah I think it’s a gymnast from Austria I think

He wasn't really her personal coach. He was the head coach. That is what caused the problem. They didn't like him acting as her personal coach.
wow so many childish comments that have nothing to do with gymnastics....
