Where is My TVR Griffith?!

- The new TVR Griffith will be a future car in my garage, a new Shmeemobile, but where is it and when is it coming?! Let's have an update with Les Edgar to find out how things are going during an event at Topcats Racing. Up to this point not too much has been seen of the new British sportscar, so join me for this special and exclusive opportunity for a first ever ride on board to get a feel for what it's about.
When the TVR Griffith was first presented at the Goodwood Revival around a year ago, I went for the unveil and announced to you that I would be adding one to my garage. TVR as a brand is roaring back and to do so they have partnered with Gordon Murray Design for the iStream chassis, with Cosworth for the 5.0 NA V8 and with other partners to bring it together. The car will produce over 500hp and weigh around 1,250kg with a manual gearbox - a perfect recipe for driving enthusiasts.
As Les and the team are working to bring effectively a new brand into the market, they have a lot of challenges and hurdles to overcome. It was always going to be a big project but the news is now coming through and tenders for the factory are progressing. It's hard to predict at this stage when my car will arrive, but we are talking somewhere maybe in early 2020 but I will certainly be doing my best to bring you more updates as and when I can.
A big thanks goes to Les and the TVR team, and of course to the fantastic team at Topcats Racing for hosting the event and making arrangements for this video. Give them a follow at:

Awesome shmee😍👌👌
I have been wondering the same thinh this car is stunning
Maybe you should schedule this premiere 1-hour max before it goes live. Otherwise, it becomes annoying for what I can tell from the audience reaction.
Wooooooow sexy and amazing design
For now we will stop the tests until further notice. We will share our thoughts with TH-cam right now.
So, where is your TVR Griffith?
You should definitely spec your TVR with colour changing paint. It's a must!
Bart chromoflare has to be done 100% agree
It's not a proper TVR if the paint doesn't change at different angles!
👌Chameleons are the (signature) color of TVR
Gran turismo fan
I want to see the car in the Formula Chameleon Green colour! I'm curious!
It's honestly so inspiring to see how far you've come since I started watching you back in 2013. The fact that you keep uploading such quality content on a regular basis is just insane. Keep it up Tim. 👍
Why is there so much hate for the sound? i think it sounds superb! like a proper old school V8, none of these high revving V8's that just scream.
And not fake pop-ups.
Sounds like a fart box.
I think it sounds phenomenal, it's so gutteral!
That's the sound of the Hulk reaching orgasm
Yeah. Sounds pretty cool but not as cool as a Saab sonnet 2. High revs is more practical to produce more horsepower. Actually I actually watched the video and I can barely here it.
I love the TVR's from the 1990s...!!! ❤
Chimaera, Griffith and Cerbera were class...!!! 👌
This is 'continuing on' from that...!!! 😁
The cebera is beautiful isn't it and fast too
corvette soulja boy the Cerbera is just absolute perfection
DoubleDeckerAnton mine rarely worked, spent more time being repaired at TVR power , hope this folly works better.
The tuscan is cool. So is Griffith. The chimaera and cerbera don't really look that nice in my opinion, though the cerbera does have four seats so I'll give it that.
@@bangerbangerbro The cerbera speed 12 came straight from hell, not only because of its horrible design, but also because of its 880 bhp.
At 5:01 did you notice the TVR Tuscan passing? Nice to see young and old on the road together, and was it parked in front of an old Bristol, I cant wait to see this beast on the road, I'm a huge TVR fan and it's great to see them back
I saw one go past the other day.
Coolest TVR in my opinion.
I am glad to see an update on the TVR ! Great that you had some time IN the car. Sooo cool! This is very special car. Keep up all the super content. Have a great day.
Love the simplicity of this thing! The world needs more lightweight, simple sportscars....
Absolutely brilliant to see this - Les Edgar and his team have nailed the new Griffith - looking forward to seeing this beast on your channel Tim - Looks the part, sounds the part and no doubt will drive the part - British engineering at its finest! 👍👍👍👍
Because you know British engineering is totally considered to be fine.
Can't wait to see the spec of your TVR
Same here :)
I think it would be more fitting and unique to do the psychedelic color shift paint scheme as it would pay tribute to the TVR’s of old.
We will know it at the end of 2019 😂
Saw the title"where's my tvr" and then the thumbnail, and thought right next to you, you silly sod.
Epic! 😂👍
If they’re bringing back old tvr models , can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the sagaris , or even the speed 12
Exotic Kits cool , but I’m more looking forward to see what modern spin they put on it
Exotic Kits cool channel tho
Imagine a new cerbera 😱
Noooooooooooooooooooooo! I my want the Sagaris remade lol, it's so perfect that it can't be done better haha. The Griffith looks amazing though and I can only imagine a Speed 12 or Chimera (the Chimera was my first thought when I heard the sound of the Griffith in this video).
@Exotic Kits How much is that kitcar going to be?
That's a great soundtrack! The base note is that of the Coyote 5.0 but there's also that classic british Spitfire fluttering at high revs and that changes the whole sounding experience!
I'm really looking forward to seeing you drive your Griffith! Keep them coming, mate!
Is there a way to turn off premieres?
It's quite simple if you don't want to watch it or wait then don't click on the link.
We are working with TH-cam on improving the experience of the premiere feature, and we will share your request with the project team.
There is this button which is grey with the text "subscribed". Clicking it works like a charm
The problem is that it gives me a notification and its annoying and unnecessary, there is absolutely no need for this shit.
why would I unsubscribe? I still enjoy Shmees content I just find this premiere thing really annoying and I'm apparently not the only one. @@AnimilesYT
Old TVR's were always beautifully designed and this one doesn't disappoint!
I’ve always had a soft spot for TVR and now I’ve seen this, I’m really happy for them! Wasn’t that blown away before via earlier pics and showings. This now changes everything.
Re the sound. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but as far as I can hear, this car is a breath of fresh air to my ears! Sounds like a propa old school V8. Not like all these new whiny sounding so called V8’s that sound too prefect and cultured. This thing burbles- and yeah- farts like a real V8 should. Any US viewers watching/listening should know exactly what I mean;)
Also, love when cars sound like powerful motorbikes and this one has a bit of that vibe to me ears. Like a big powerful racing bike.
Be interesting to see the interior in another colour.. I like what I see though. Kinda simplified and paired back take on TVR’s of old.
Nice one Les! Good luck with all those upcoming challenges- a word used quite a fair bit during this vlog!
Nice work Shmee!! Keep up the great work, producing these amazing in sites for us car lovers!
S :!)
Compared to all the other TVRs, this one is by far the most beautiful
I'm actually surprised by how the tvr interior looks, sounds great as well
i''m French, i'm young, but TVR is one of my favorite car manufacturer, this Griffith is The car i wanted the most to see in your collection ! Cerbera is the absolute sports car for me ! Thanks a lot for this video !
Great looking car. I just wish he'd keep the tradition going with the straight six engines. Don't get me wrong. This V8 sounds amazing. But i loved the way their inline 6's sounded.
It's as if the engine sound was designed around this man's voice! Can't wait for your car Tim, it'll be incredible!!
TVR fan here, can't deny it! Nice one, Tim.
Bona. 100%! Tvrs are just incredible
those air conditioning vents are used on so many cars they're the equivalent of putting Ebay 'universal' air filters on your BMW! Rest looks top notch and sounds even better though.
I just realized, I've been watching you for like 4 years, geez.
Allo mate!Congrats on the Griff purchase.Traditional Murray style, love the side exit exhaust and sound.A simple recipe, not alot of changes needed or necessary.I like the look and you can definitely see the British lineage.Cheers bro.
Great vlog as usual.. can't wait!!😎
What a noise! Now just add Supercharge whine. Looks a little like Ferrari 599 mated with the new Supra, which isn't a bad thing.
I love this TVR Griffith it looks gorgeous and sounds fantastic with that 5.0 Ford Mustang V8 and the interior is gorgeous and very simplistic!!
That’s a nice looking Trevor!
The new Griffith is quite literally the reason why I subscribed to your channel. I've been looking forward to this content the entire time. I'm glad it's finally come and I'm glad the Griffith itself hasn't fizzled out!
I absolutely love the exhaust note. Great choice of muffler.
Did you say Gordon Murray helped design the car or am I mistaken!? If so. I want so bad.. Just the look of it though.. This should have been the new supra, look at it! 👀😍
I heard that too and my ears got extremely perked to know his influence on the car.
Yes, Gordon Murray pivotal to the design and the construction process:
www.gordonmurraydesign.com/en/products/current/tvr-griffith.html
Well done Les for keeping the TVR legend going
I hope this TVR properly built and doesn't catch fire as soon as it leaves the showroom floor!
They know the car has to be done right or company failure
That's part of the charm never knowing when it will blow it's like Russian roulette😂
Wow what a car. The looks are stunning and totally different to everything else on the road. The colour of this particular Griffith is incredible, and the sound is epic!!
Are you ever getting your TVR? I'm gonna say no....
So good to have TVR back. The design is growing on me, loving the side exit exhausts 👍
hey shmee can u pls upload and not use this premiere thing again?
I upload normally and we are testing premiere to see how we can make it better.
Shmee150
It doesn't.
I almost lost interest in watching this video... strangely, I can't explain why.
User experience is not decent yet. It requires a lot of changes before it is done properly. The idea is good, but it requires more flexibility for the user.
-Chemistry he uploads normally as how he used to. It’s just a preview of what he’ll show to us. I don’t see why some people actually complain about this and expect shmee to actually upload at random times when he always have a schedule on uploading videos.
@@jojodivas9211 because for me it turns automatically all notification for the channels who use it off. also the videos sometimes don't appear in my subbox any more, so now I have to look in all my subscribed channels and see if they have uploaded something or not.
Nothing can ever beat the sound of your GT8.. because of you its my ultimate goal dream car to own someday
That thing sounds incredible. One of my favourite sounds!
I almost forgot you have this coming to be honest. But is looks a lot Better out in the open
I like the fact the on the overruns the crackles and pops seem genuine. Look forward to seeing and hearing one in the metal.
Two years on, they still only have this one car built, and the people who paid deposits are getting more and more nervous ...
4 years later on...
Interior is nice, super difficult what they are trying to do and well done for giving it a go. I hope TVR makes it 100%.
I really hate this new TH-cam feature!
@Enzo Ferrari I guess we'll never know
@@mullliner yah
@shmee150 This car is awesome! You bought a Griffith, a GT and a Senna. Nothing is better than this for you and your fans. what an exciting year ahead 👍👍👏👏👏
Sounds like my old Opal Kadet coupe sport, when the exhaust fell off.
Its Great to see an awesome British car making a comeback
enjoy the gift of each day my friends,
always a treat to enjoy some time with #teamshmee,
thanks for always proving great content Tim,
see you all for the next ride along!
8^)
What an epic purchase... So jealous! The sound is unique
Hi shmee.... thanks for all your fantastic videos..please make a video with the new spyker c8 preliator. Tnx again
Impossible to make a video with that car. Does Spyker still exist?
Of course it is!!!!!.... how don't you know?!!! The preliator intoduced in 2017 geneva motor show and powered by 5L v8 koenigsegg engine!!!!! And the looking.... the prestige....the art on that if it is not more special than pagani huayra .... as the same.... I think it is on of the most special car in the last 20 year... search it see some short videos to know what im saying?!!!
That thing looks amazing! Never imagined this channel to grow so much over the past years, incredible work!
When will be the TVR spec reveal coming?
Somewhere next year!
That interior is immaculate, and the sound is insane. Wow, wow, wow.
Its 2022 and he is still waiting for this car ?
I'd bet he got his deposit back and gave up like we all did waiting to see this thing ever produced
What a winner, thunderous sounding V8 and a manual gearbox!
did u actually get this car?
That sounds incredible, and I love the lack of creases in the design, that's what made the FD RX-7, XJ220 and Speedtail so beautiful
Hey Shmee, came to Brazil. We have some cool cars too
F40, F50 N 2º OF 3 PROTOTYPE... And others
Brasil? I dont think Shmee is suicidal
Probably my new favorite sounding V8 now, definitively a "Let's take some backroads" kind of car. Keep it up Tim!
I wasn't sure about this car when I first looked at it....but damn, it looks like it can be a daily.
Plus, it'd be way cheaper to run than your AMG GT-R
@Jack Yeah, the front's fuck ugly. But it's still prettier than the Senna.
A: it's not ugly thats your reflection and B: they're not selling it in your backwards shithole country anyway so it's none of your concern ameritard lolol
@@Ruddyscheeseemporium hahahaha fuck off. Learn to apreciate what it is in other countries.
@@Ruddyscheeseemporium Lolololol, the Brit is triggered. About the only thing you guys can do these days: bitch. xD
TVR are my favourite car company. Cant wait to see more updates in the future!
Interesting sound.....I hear a little bit of WRX with an exhaust leak or my Dad’s old Nissan Maxima when the fuel injectors were going bad
I was also thinking it sounded like it had an exhaust leak. I didn't love it
jameswillard1 it sounds like a mustang gt 5.0
Exhaust leak. The original Griff 500 with the Rover V8 sadly sounds better. Those side pipes are the issue I feel. I am sure they could make it sound better. It is ok but not up there with the best old school v8s. However, fit and finish look very good and I am sure this is much more high tech than any previous TVR in terms of chassis design and build. Good luck TVR 😀
Omg.. I love this car! So early, but it already sounds and looks awesome. I like those small little details with the buttons inside the round parts around the screen.. I want one!
What will the price be at?
Have you heard anything more?
Yeah wtf is this car???
Really appreciate that you are going for a not so common car. Lambos, Fords, Porsches, McLarens etc are all cool, but this one is unique and really interesting and has a fantastic concept (lightwheight, v8, steelframe with carbon, sidepipe) plus a nice heritage even though I don't like the front so much.
Has TVR run off with your deposit. Where is the car??
Beautiful car, great humble guy. Well done TVR
Please stop this premieres. For me your vid gets pushed back in my sub box
Make sure to press reminder and you get told when the video is live!
@@Shmee150 agree - please dont do premiers - just let them go live as its always been
Today's premiere was the last test! Results are going back to TH-cam and we will insist on changes.
The Speedmeter looks so amazing! And the car too!
reminds me of a viper
@Danni DeVo you disgust me. 😂
The question is, what is this car?
D T I owned a Viper GTS for 10 years, it never went wrong, I also owned a Cerbera from new and it was a pile of tat, most lovers of TVR have never owned them long term, most get passed on after 6/12 months as they can't put up with the constant issues. I'd never buy one again , only time will tell if this one ever gets built , but the boss sounds like he's full of BS, I personally don't think many will ever be built.
That looks and sounds epic, proper old school V8 race engine sound! I really like the interior, simple yet very classy, looking forward to seeing this on the road.
Any updates on this?
Still waiting to hear of an update. I've heard recently that it may be an ev?
@@bad-bunnyblogger8171 i found some info from a quick google search saying that it will be in production starting in 2024 but I wouldn’t trust that completely
Thanks for the update! The car sounds amazing, I love the very deep grumble it gives and how it sounds when you really get going. All the best
Had to turn the bass down on my subwoffer when that VTR fired up.
Love that tvr is making a comeback, the Cerbera facelift is one of my favourite cars of all time! Hopefully these new models have the same character as the old, great vid :)
Is Les really the Ferrari F1 boss? lol
Wow, sounds like a WWII fighter plane. Just superb
For me it kind of sounds like a very loud lawnmower
Markel Díaz Yeah, I love the Brits, but that V8 sounds like an industrial generator.
I was about to comment that
Honestly it sounded like an old ford tractor too me
Yep me to! Sounds awful!!!! Sounds like a 4stroke motorbike!!
Trust me, these V8s sound MUCH better in person, the rumble isn't something you get from videos
Can't wait to see what the next chapter for TVR has in store, well done for at least getting a run in the new car & I'm looking forward to see future content of it's build
So he says apple CarPlay is horizontal,so builds a vertical screen?!
That's one of the most stunning cars I've ever seen! does the old car justice
Did anybody notice the button that was labelled "Kill"?
Yes it means STOP "KILL SWITCH"
Paul864 because it’s a prototype vehicle.
Tim the car is so awesome, the sound, the looks, even the interior, so awesome, I have no other word to describe it, looking forward for the adventures with it.
Another TVR passed by you guys at 5:01
That was a lovely Tuscan...
Seriously love everything about this car
Will it be a permanent shmeemobile or will you sell it 2 years later??? I hope you don't sell it.
The new TVR looks much better in video than pictures... strange. Starting to like it!
I hate watching this guy's videos. I'm only watching him because I want to know more about the car and his video was at the top of the list.
I like how the car actually sounds like Les Edgar!
Loving the premiere feature. The car does sound like a tractor crossed with a wet fart though. Hoping it's just my phone!!
You will be the only youtuber with a tvr griffit. How cool 😎 is that.
Amazing would you have it
Happy that it's a manual, old school British Sportscar but modern take on it.
sounds like a tractor, or something like a Defender
That looks so damned good sitting there. The more I see this the more I love it. The side slash reminds me of the last era of TVR.
Never buy a car that smells of glue from a bloke called Les. A rule I live by.
Easty... You are a wise man.
Rob Johnson thank you. i like to think so.
It looks different (read: better) than when i last saw it. Good on Mr. Edgar for not rushing just to rush
How much does it cost?
£90K ish
The owner is a true car guy u can tell how much he loves the car and the process
sounds like a tractor
or every 80's truck with rusted off exhaust
Sounds like when I cum
Part of it is the wind noise
What tractor do you have
never heard a tractor rev to 7k or more
Man..that sound!!! And what a beautiful design!
