I plan on putting a “Drainage System “ in the back yard in Deep South Texas (hard clay”. I plan on using the perforated 4” pipe, wrapped in gravel with cloth and a catch basin every 10’ or so. I don’t understand the need for 2 pipes when the catch basin can be connected directly to the perforated pipe.. ??

because it could clog your drain pipe with dirt and trash and bang your french drain is not working

Can you do a test with the red clay on top, then astm33 concrete agg and then a drain with and without filter fabric on the drain itself?

That’s a great idea putting both a perforated and solid pipe in the trench! I never like it when I see a surface drain put into a perforated pipe

plus pipe is the biggest void in a french frain wrapped and with stone and pipe is cheaper than stone
