Hey, I'm the guy who played the amber/sapphire you showed. Thanks for mentioning it! It's not my list, but I was playing something similar w/o Belle and OJA. Switched when I tested on Pixelborn. I just wanted to explain why rq. She's a closer for sure, but she freaks ppl out. 9/10 times if I played her early she'd get targeted. I used her for early ramp, especially after a good Rapunzel draw. But she explodes at 10 ink, so people want her gone beforehand. This soaks a spell for dropping a Stitch or Hades later. I had Be Prepared played while she was solo on the board. Honestly, I used her as bait more often than not. Ya know, and questing for 5 helps. I went all in for bait mostly. And if they can't get rid of her until exerted? 5 lore.
Ima run your deck tonight. I didn't have all 4 legendary hades or the 4 Rapunzels or 4 Bellea. I have 2 of each lol. Also only 2 Let it go's. Put in 3 Cinderellas, 3 Lilo another maximus and part of your world
Awesome breakdown of the weekend's events and looks like you've been doing a good job keeping up with that, among other stuff, each week. Subscribed. I played the Amethyst/Sapphire at the CM Games 2k. I like its matchups against both Amber/Steel, which I won four of my matches against, and Ruby/Amethyst. Those were easily the two most played ink combinations at the event, which is what I had expected. There were only two other Amethyst/Sapphire decks I saw at the event, both of which were built quite differently than mine. I definitely wouldn't classify my build as control; more of a midrange, high impact/value plays that can also do a good impression of aggro when that's what the matchup calls for (I typically stop inking almost entirely as soon as I reach seven). If you have the most fun in TCG's when drawing cards, I'd give the deck a go. Also, the eighth deck in the CM Games Top 8 was an Emerald/Sapphire deck that snuck in when two Ruby/Amethyst decks unintentionally drew in the last round.
Thank you for the report! And the update for the decks! Yes the weekly meta report is something I’ve started since the first events were announced, always a weekly staple here :-)
@@TheForbiddenMountain It’s basically all I’ve played as I was drawn to a control deck and it’s more budget friendly than Ruby Am Played a locals last weekend, all 3 rounds were Amber Steel and all 3 were 2-1 wins for me. There’s something about the way the characters, draw and removal line up against Amber Steel that makes it a winnable match up
Ruby Amethyst needs to start playing a little more aggressively in the early game. Too many games can't be finished in the 50mins and ends in a draw and that can be enough to knock you out of top 8 contention in the smaller events
I don't think Ruby Amethyst was really as good as everyone thought it was. It just took a little while for people to solve the format. It has a ton of bad match ups and then in the mirror you might end up punting to time. I feel like it got a bunch of tops to begin with just due to sheer over representation.

I'm Jon Viveros, thank you for talking about my deck!! Glad it's gotten out there
Congrats on the finish!
@@TheForbiddenMountain thanks!! It was definitely a grind

I was at cm 2k. I was confident in my ability to finish in time. I tied twice. Got 15th.
Been playing Sapphire Amethyst since release, it has a very good Amber Steel matchup which I think people are starting to realise
That’s good to hear! I haven’t explored it much since the first weekend of the game (mostly cause I’m a frozen fan at heart haha)

Deck is sooooo boring to play against
That’s y I believe soo much discard is being added in Set2. Counter the long games

Just a natural growing of the meta game tbh.
Problem with ppl building anti R/A decks is that they are weakening themselves against the A/Steel matchup. Which is alrdy a solid matchup into R/A
