With the four pack of bars of soap --- go up to the cashier with it and say " I don't want all four, just give me the free one " and see what happens !
I still miss him on 60 Minutes. I watched his segments since he was first on that news show. He was hilarious. He makes sense about freebies. The 1980s had alot of those free deals.
Andy Rooney was the best part of 60 minutes, and I watched the show since 1969. He was a hoot. There should be a DVD of about 100, if not all, of his gripe sessions. Thanks to these uploaders!!
I watched Andy's segments during the 1970's and 1980's.I always thought he was funny, and he did make sense.I read his books, which were like his bit on 60 Minutes.I watched him until he retired from that show, and hated to see him leave.
For some unknown reason I watched this video. It reminded me of the time I was going to the mall and outside on the sidewalk there was a vendor's tent that had a sign offering a free kitchen utensil, including ladles. At the time I did not have a ladle, which, come to think of it, I still do not have. So I went into the tent to pick up a ladle. Inside the tent there was a man behind a desk who informed me that my ladle was free if I listened to some sales pitch for some expensive blender. I informed him that the ladle is not technically free if it costs me something, in this case that "something" was time. I left.
makes me think on how many people will go out of their way, spending so much more extra time on something, just to save a little money. it’s as if they value the money, more than they value time. time is a resource too. like they never heard the phrase “time is money”? i value my time more than money, which is why for example, i might pay the $6 for grocery delivery instead of wasting an entire day at the store when i could be doing something else with my valuable time
Never trust free samples at malls. I ended up with a $33 jar of some Mediterranean shoe polish just for taken a second I didn't even have to try it. To be fair, I did say I'd consider buying it if it was around $20. The starting price was over $100. They really must have wanted to make a sale.
I knew I wasn’t the only one who noticed that math isn’t part of something that’s supposed to always equal to nothing. Reminds me of the rent & tax joke describing a slum lord or irs acting like Marion Berry asking for more money after it’s already paid.
By the time you got your free box of Ritz crackers, you got sick from eating the four boxes you spent your hard earned cash to get your free box. A scam!
There is a difference between something that is INCLUDED and something that is FREE! If it is TRUELY FREE, then you should be able to rip open all of the cat food packs to get the FREE coins!!!! Same with FREE breakfast at hotels. If the breakfast is FREE , then ANYONE should be able to eat there!
Heres a dumb thing to be considered free. Little Debbie had a contest where you took a picture of yourself to win a free snack pack. Not to get one. To win it. I'd rather just buy a pack than do a contest where thats the prize because at least I dont feel ripped of by a company who can afford to sent me on a Cruise

I know what I want to be when I grow up. Andy Rooney.

He looks younger on this video...maybe from the 1970's. I saw him on every ep of 60 Minutes, and liked his humor. Thanks much to the uploader!!
"I don't like Irish Spring soap. Who wants a bunch ofcolors running off them when you're taking a shower"

I read your comment in Andy Rooney s voice
Ya gotta love Andy Rooney. I miss his sometimes acerbic delivery. They don't make, or hire 'em like him anymore.
"Americans love the four letter word 'Free'" says Andy. And he said this at the dawn of email and long before WiFi

love it
It is all about spin, spin, spin!
Me: You say I can buy AND save?!?
Salesman: Yes, if you buy more, you can save more.
Me: I’m gonna be rich!
Damn, Andy really fucked up that bag of cat food...
He really cut it open didn’t he? Lol! I miss him. And this message I send is free
2:42 whoops...
Someone never learned how to open a bag of pet food.
2:17-2:50 He predicted Gacha
with a $20 contribution, you get this free US Olympic jacket

This video was free ...?
@e8tballz I don't know. I think 18 years is a long time.

Why did he cut open the bag like that?😂

Yep, and as the adage goes “There is no free lunch.”
@@unknownunknowns Yeah, not to mention how well that free cruise bit has aged. Id rather sample some of Andy's Ritz crackers.
Mine came with a condom.
Manipulation is free
Waste of a VHS cassette.
...not exactly
