I wish you would have filmed the entire bar at El Patio in Historic Mesilla! You missed the other half where it has beautiful wood and hidden nook half moon private booths and the entire space that you filmed made it look much smaller than it actually is , it’s huge! The entrance to the restroom is interesting also and wish you would have showed how the restroom has old fashion swing wooded doors. La posta also has these kind of restroom wooded older doors. El Patio has an old fashion tall one of a kind weight scale. Interesting to finally see the owner on the taping have been visiting for 5 years never seen him once!

Thanks for the comment, the owner really showed us around and we were sort of following what he wanted to show us. There was plenty more we thought would be interesting, but he only had that one part in mind.

Sadly saloon culture is pretty much dead in New Mexico, living in a nanny state will do that for ya. Viva "La Reina?"

@@Bucketlistbars Making it worse, I love cowboy saloon culture, been in it all my life, till I hit,
"The Beautiful Land of Entrapment". A phrase given me by a very attractive dark haired Siren in the "El Patio " one night.
Sadly, there is not a decent Cowboy bar in this whole state, thank God for breweries, a poor second to be sure, but the worst beer will always top the best water.

So true - it's the liquor laws here - they've killed the bars in the state. The breweries have a loophole so can set up tap rooms to sell their beer. We used to have hundreds of great saloons and bars all over the state, but because the liquor licenses are worth so much, Walmart and other places bought them and the bars all closed. Now all thats left are a handful sadly.
