    Went down to a local car mechanic and they wanted $150 to recharge my AC. At that point it just wasn't worth it to me. So I went down to Auto Zone and picked up a can of AC Pro for $44.99. Now my AC works great and it was super easy to do. Thanks AC Pro!!!

    I went and bought a can of A/C Pro with gauge. I've never charged a cars a/c before. My brother charged my 2000 Ford Taurus last year and it worked. I decided to do some research and try it myself. When Temps went up for the first time in Vegas this year, I turned the A/C on and it was blowing hot air. After watching a few videos on TH-cam, I attempted it by myself. Product worked exactly like it was presented. And I did it with the hood resting on my shoulder because my hood lift supports finally died. Just follow instructions. I would buy product again.

    Worked well on my 2003 Dodge Ram and saved me money close to a $1,000 because several mechanics were telling me I may have had a broken blend door. Nope, followed advice from another web sight and bought a can of AC Pro. Followed the directions and after about ten minutes I had cold AC. So far, the cold AC has held for weeks. Great easy product.

    Wife's car AC has been blowing warm air for a couple of years, but we did not want to expense a garage bill to fix. While doing a brake job on my car, I noticed that NAPA had AC Pro on sell for $35,. So I took the chance purchase that low AC gas was the issue after seeing good reviews on line and the video for this product.
    The only thing extra that I had to do, was disconnect her car's battery for five minutes as to do a force reset of her car's computer. Because it 'remembered' that her AC compressor should be turned off (saw as a tip on one of the car fix forums). Upon rest, the factory default computer settings allowed the compressor to turn on, per the computer's 'memory' from the factory.
    Her AC blows cold now! Wife is very happy with me for fixing this. (At least for the time being, lol).

    I read, and followed the printed and video instructions. My 2004 Nissan Armada was reading 12 PSI and blowing cool air (not cold). I filled the system to 47 PSI (3/4 of the bottle). It now works as well as the day I bought the new vehicle. Thanks, Cheers

    I have a 2008 Nissan Altima S. My air was blowing cool but down here in the South slightly cool isn't good enough in the summer. Dealership quoted me at 150 to recharge. Decided to try this AC Pro, and if all fails I'm only out of $40. Did the recharge exactly by the directions, and my air is pumping colder than before it got warm, and saved $ in the process.

  • @pn3701
    @pn3701 6 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    This was beyond easy! I'm not familiar with anything that exists under the hood of a car. I tried this on a 2001 Nissan Sentra. The High and Low pressure ports are super easy to find. I followed exact instructions, turned on AC to full, removed the plastic protection part, screwed the valve back in, shook the well for at least half a minute, hooked up the hose to the low pressure port - heard the click - made sure it's securely hooked up and the arrow was way over to the left on the white area.
    I couldn't see if the compressor was running on this car - very difficult to see. So, I press the trigger for a few seconds while moving the canister from 12 to the 3 o'clock position every second or faster - and lo and behold - the compressor started running just after a couple of seconds! I could feel and hear the new noise. Hallelujah, the compressor was running!
    So, I had set the valve's gauge to an ambient temp of about 75 deg, and after pushing the trigger for about 10-15 seconds each time, the needle finally ended up in the middle of the red triangle area.
    The temp in the past 5 days, with 90+ weather outside, is consistently blowing at 40 to 43 deg at the vents, and the ambient temp inside the car is about 60 - 65 deg :) I couldn't be happier with this product!
    If the refrigerant ends up leaking after a few months, I'll definitely try their sealer product, before using the remaining ACPRO --- I can feel about half of the quantity is left in the can!
    Great product, highly recommended, *unless* you have compression issues and adding refrigerant will likely not solve the problem.
    Good luck!

    This is a good instructional video. I've seen people try to use the wrong port and get frustrated. However, they should mention if you have to add freon again it's because there's still a leak (that's why you needed freon in the first place) and you should weigh the costs of continuing to add freon or get the leak repaired. If you know you're not keeping the car for more than a few years and it only costs you one can a year it's probably not worth getting the system repaired.

    • @DucatiPaso750
      @DucatiPaso750 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not to mention that if there is a freon leak, it is also leaking compressor oil. You have to fix the leak. Otherwise you're not doing it right.

    After I figured out that my 98 ford contour was "hopeless" when it came to fixing the AC, I researched the problem myself. As soon as I turned the AC on MAX nice HOT air blew in the car. Yuck. If I kept it on low cool, a tiny breeze of cool air came through, but if I touched that fan setting, it was all downhill from there. That is when I finally figured out that it had to be a fuse able link. I went for the WIDE OPEN THROTTLE CONTROL, located under the hood, and wow, no more hot air! It needed a charge, and is colder now, but I paid $25 for some idiot to hold the button down while car ran on MAX AC. The lower port which was supposed to be used to install the refrigerant was right on top, near the radiator so when I called Advanced Auto to ask if it was true and can port would only fit on the proper intake, I WAS PLEASED TO KNOW THE GUY DID IT RIGHT, BUT MAD THAT I CALLED AFTER PAYING $25 BUCKS! Oh well, live and learn. I hope this info will help someone else!

    My car was blowing warm air, charged it and it went cold, emptied can and soon began to blow hot again. Clutch engaged and fuses fine. Checked again with pressure gauge and it was in red. I had over charged. Removed gauge and carefully released excess air and pressure by pressing the center of the valve and checking pressure until gauge was in green area and air began to run cold again.

  • @moxiemoney
    @moxiemoney 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Definitely easy to use and the trigger is easier to push than the competitors' style. Question: Have a 2010 Ford F150, when hooking up the gauge, showed about 10 psi. After turning truck/AC on full, and hooking up the can again, it took a full can and still only about 30 psi, outside temp about 85, and inside the garage the truck is showing 73 on the dash temp gauge. Air is definitely blowing colder, although not as cold as my new car. I don't want to overfill. Is 1 can usually more than enough for a large truck if the system is pretty empty, or should I get a second can and charge it more till about 45 psi?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With refrigerant more is not better. Filling to the end of the green zone (45-50 PSI) will not benefit you if your vehicle's A/C is already achieving cold air at the beginning of the green zone (25-30 PSI). Once you're in the green see if your system is blowing cold you're good to go. Rather than comparing it to another vehicle, I'd check the vent temp. If you're using one of our vent thermometers the temp should be around 50 degrees if it's in the 80s outside.

      cesar vega Depressing the low-pressure Schrader valve to release refrigerant into the atmosphere is illegal, so we recommend you take it in to a certified technician so they can recover the excess refrigerant in your system responsibly.

    Hi, my vehicle is 2004 honda accord sedan. When I turn on the AC with the max I get a little cold air only. so I bought the AC pro and as Instructed I have set the AC in max and blow in Max and put the guage Hose to the L I get the gauge on to the red mark. What needs to be done

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you check the pressure with the gauge when first adding it to the low side port and the gauge is in the red, do not add refrigerant. You will need to take your car to a certified technician as you may have an issue other than low refrigerant causing your problem. If you haven't punctured the top of the can you should be able to return the can to the place you bought it for a refund.

    Stupid question here, but once you're finished discharging the correct amount and the pressure reads normal, do you turn the engine off and THEN disconnect the hose from the low-pressure valve, or do you disconnect FIRST, then turn off the engine? Thanks.

    I have the older style where you can adjust the gauge for ambient air temperature but the new gauge is non adjustable so how do you account for ambient air temperature? I could always use my HVAC gauge set.

      We have a temperature/pressure chart on our website that will give you the pressure ranges to charge to at each outside ambient temperature.

    Does the compressor not running red zone reading mean that the compressor is broken and not working, or does it mean it will kick on when some Freon gets into the system? I just tried to recharge and with 5 seconds, my needle was in the red....

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Qban - if within 5 seconds of charging the gauge flipped into the red, you probably didn't need refrigerant in your system to begin with. In most properly functioning systems, the gauge should not read in the red. The compressor kicking on should also not push the system in the red.

    so plugged the ac pro in, started the car with ac on high with ac on, and the pressure read jumping from 0 to red (not maxed out red) every time the compressor turns on. is this normal? haven't really pulled the trigger on it, got kinda scared might blow up on me. any suggestions or should i go through with it?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leon Golightly When the compressor is running, it should create suction and lower the pressure reading. (When the compressor is not running, it’s normal for the gauge to show a high reading.) If the pressure is too low due to a lack of refrigerant, adding A/C Pro will bring it up to the correct range. However, if the compressor is running and you still get a pressure reading in the red zone, you may have other issues beyond low refrigerant and should have your vehicle looked at by a certified technician. Keep in mind that the belt will be constantly moving, even when the compressor is cycled off. To be sure the compressor is running, watch the center pulley.

    First thing is, you dont release the refrigerant to the atmosphere. That is against the law. You would need a reu=gular refrigerant gauge set with the high and low pressure gauges and a recovery tank to drain some off the system.

      Answered your question on another video, but the product in this video is for 134a vehicles. We do have a product for vehicles with 1234yf so you just need to buy this product. It's available at auto retailers. Walmart does not currently carry. www.acprocold.com/product/acpyf100d-6-a-c-pro-r-1234yf-recharge-kit-with-digital-gauge-14-oz/

    • @alexchopper7997
      @alexchopper7997 ปีที่แล้ว

      You bypass low pressure switch if your compressor clutch is not engaging. There could be many reasons why it’s not engaging and one of them is if the refrigerant is low or the clutch relay is bad. Worse is if the whole clutch is not working properly then you have a bigger issue.

      For the gauge featured in the video the temperatures are shown on the inner most part of the gauge face (inside the colored pressure indicator). However, the location of the temperature read out could vary based on which gauge you purchased. For additional help reading the gauge please contact customer service at (888) 318-5454. The temperature on all of our gauges sold in the United States give their readings in Fahrenheit.

    Make sure to check what type of refrigerant your car uses. I made the mistake of assuming "R-134a" was the current type but it is not, "R-1234YF" is the current type (for newer cars) and the installation connectors are different. I found out after trying to connect my older AC Pro to my newer Hyundai and it didn't fit/connect. Auto parts stores carry mostly the R-134a refrigerants and tools so it's easy to get the wrong one. Check your car's label first! BTW - no surprise, the R-1234YF refrigerant and tool costs about 2x as much as the R-134a version.

    • @Acprocold

      That can mean you either have a large leak too big for this to fix, or you have another problem not cause by low refrigerant.

    Ok so when I connect to my car it stay reading at 0 do I just add AC Pro at that point?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If the gauge reads at 0 with the compressor on and the trigger not being pulled, you are low on refrigerant. If that's the case, you just pull the trigger to add refrigerant.

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will feel noticeably lighter than when you started recharging. The can is often left with a small amount of residual oil/refrigerant that won’t empty out. Please keep in mind that your vehicle may not require the entire can to be successfully recharged. You may have some leftover that you can store with the hose attached for a future application.

    Had no pressure but it was 10 year old car which had no refill in that time and I suspected it needed refilling. Put a little in the system to get the AC to actually turn on which it did so turned to max cold/max fan. Topped up aiming for a safe 35psi based on an ambient temp of 20'c and not wanting to over fill. Filled slowing while moving can, kept pressure during this time well. Then when it reached about 25psi pressure dropped like stone to 0psi. checked all the hoses seemed ok. I hear the compressor turning on and off will make the pressure change but to 0? Is that a leak then?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CornwallKate - It's not necessarily a leak. You may see a drop in pressure on the gauge as the compressor cycles on and off. Take the reading on the gauge when the compressor is on for the most accurate reading.

    • @cornwallkate
      @cornwallkate 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do I know when the compressor is on please? thank you

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CornwallKate - take a look at this video for help. th-cam.com/video/kdeKKZzqKFA/w-d-xo.html
      Your compressor is attached to the belt and is turned by your engine. The engine must be on and the A/C turned on high for the compressor to come on. The clutch in the middle of the compressor pulley should also be spinning. Your compressor sometimes turns on and off so you might need to watch for a little.
