Hey there! thank you for the well demonstrated vid. Although, am facing a problem i.e, the crochet work curves about to become a basket rather than a coaster. This keeps on repeating whenever I crochet, thus being unable to complete the work. What could be the possible reason for this? Your suggestion is highly appreciated.
It creates a basket shape if the stitches are not increased in the next round. This is the only reason I can think of. So follow the pattern when it says 2 dc's (double crochets) in next stitch, it means 2 double crochets in same stitch, this is the key to increase the stitches in the round. Hope this helps. Thank you!
Very beautiful and easy to make. Appreciate so much the upclose view of your hands, the steps written in caption, and this simple yet elegant pattern. Thank you.
Hello from Canada. Made this lovely coaster this aft & totally love it. I only crochet from using tutorial & have been crocheting only the past 3 yrs self taught. I totally love this & it turned out amazing. I also used Caron Simply Soft in the white with ocean blue for the trim. Now I'm going to make coffee/tea cup coasters to match in the shape of a cup using this yarn in ocean blue. Thank you so very much...……………...
Thank you very much for this easy to follow tutorials even its a little too fast for me since I'm a beginner I made one need to make 3 more of this pattern .
Thank you! This coaster has worked up to be one of the prettiest designs I have seen! I am just so happy with the way it turned out once I was finished with mine. It is so simple yet so classy and unique. :)
I absolutely LOVE this tutorial! It was very easy to follow and the coaster lies nice and flat. I used a #4 weight cotton yarn and will make matching cup coasters....I'm guessing that shouldn't be too difficult. (fingers crossed!) Thanks again!
I've struggled for many years with crochet and your tutorial has helped me so much that i got the hang of it from watching this 1 time. No im making tea pot coasters AND cup coasters like a pro haha. THANKYOU for this tutorial.
Great video...best I have ever watched!!! seeing the WRITTEN DIRECTIONS while you are working is excellent because if you get lost or dont understand a step you can stop and read while you work until you understand.
I have just finished this lovely Teapot Coaster and it looks SO pretty. Thank you very much for your tutorial, it was fairly easy for me to follow. I used an Apricot shade for the border and it looks really effective. I now want to make more with different coloured edging, I can't wait to get started. Many thanks. Take care. x
nearly skipped this tutorial, as the music was annoying!! however, i turned it down, and watched what turned out to be a very good tutorial. Very well explained and easy to follow. Nearly finished my first coaster!!! :-) thank you Crafting Shed!!
Hello! I love this design, but I'm sort of struggling. I am using thick wool and a 4mm crochet pin. But my coaster is not sitting flat. Is it because the wool is too thick? (I'm also a beginner!)
There is a difference in written instructions of 1 stitch in round 4. You have, dc in same stitch as initial chain 2, dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, 3 dc in next 3 stitches; then you have, Repeat: dc in each next 3 stitches, 2 dc in next. Which is it please. Thank you.
