Your video was much better to understand than the video I was recommended to watch from the instructions. The instructions were terrible! The only difference was that there were no hooks on my model. It had straps instead, but the other bits were the same. Very good. Thank you!
You’re a lifesaver! My box was a return and didn’t include one of the mounting brackets and no instructions. I sorted out a way to mount it, but the double pulley was making me tear my hair out. Never seen one of these hoists where you fix both ends of the rope ;)
I would never have figured this out without this video. I don't think it would be possible for the product to come with worse instructions and the ones that are included
Thanks for the video it really helped me with running the rope I was having a heck of time trying to figure that out, I will say I was very close though it was the last brake and pulley that had me stumped should have watched this first. Took me only minutes after watching this. you Like many others have indicated the instructions are very poor. Thanks again!
Thank you VERY MUCH. The details from the Menards brand product had instructions which were as clear as mud. I could not figure out how to route through the double pulley.
He installs the first pulley system facing the left, then the 2nd pully system. When the camera comes back to the first pulley system its switched around to the right. Go figure.
I thought the instructions with it were fine....however, they said to spread the hooks apart 2/3 of the boat length, which is too far if you're using the straps provided. This video said 1/3 the boat length. I haven't tried it, but suspect that it will work better. Why are they still distributing those instructions?
Too much space left with these hoist systems. I have a low ceiling and need my boat sucked up right to the top. They're fine if you're a midget I guess, but I'm not.

Your instructions made it sooo easy for me to understand. The written instructions were terrible that came with my hoist. Thank you very much!!

Excellent video. Helped me a ton when installing our hoist.

Thank you the instructions in the box were very vague with the rope install,

Yeah...the instructions that come with it are really incomplete. Thanks for the video!!

Good video!
what happens when the joice runs the wrong way ?
Brian Price you mount a 2x4 between the joists going the opposite direction.
I just built a vertical kayak hoist, check the video out on my channel for a tutorial on how and let me know what you think. Thanks!
Thanks. Very helpful.

Then just shorten the straps that come with it so it raises higher. Jesus you are a fucking moron.
Or get rid of the straps and use the grab handles?
