    It's 105 degrees here today and you saved us from having a heat stroke out in the garage trying to figure out the pulley set-up!! Thank you so much!!!

    Although you made this video a couple years ago I want to thank you. I wasn’t in a good state of mind to be able to read and decipher the directions. The pictures in the direction were fine until I tried to put the rope through. Your video was so helpful and easy to follow. I think it was easier to do the rope backwards. Thank you.

    Bless you for making this video about how to thread the rope. I have a different brand from Amazon, and the pictures are dark and hard to discern. My directions started the same way with making a knot at the one-pulley end. Perfect video. After watching, it took me no time to finish up the rope while the hubby went to pick up our pizza.

    What a great way to help others! The only mistake I made is not putting the hooks straight down. Trying to spread the hooks bound the mechanism.

    Man! I love it when someone makes an instructional video and does it properly and informatively. Great instruction - Great audio - Perfect video, along with up close instruction of proper running of the cables. Thank you!!

    The one thing I wasn't clear about is how to release the brake to lower it again. I found that if I pull one rope, it releases the other side to lower it first, then pull the second rope to release the first.

    This is probably the best up close look of all these install videos. I'm very handy and installed mine last night but the instructions were not clear at all with how the rope went through the brake. Mine was a different brand but same style. My straps were also different. Going to replace them with the daisy chain style you have.

    I just installed one of these for my Thule box but didn't used the straps like you did as I was concerned the pressure points on the lid would deform it over time since it's not designed to take a load like the bottom is. I rigged up a different contraption to hang from the black hooks but my question is have you noticed any issues from the pressure of the straps on the sides of the lid?

    • @aaronpayne1058
      @aaronpayne1058  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ever since I installed this, I've only pulled the thing down a few times. I haven't had any issues with warping, but that's a brilliant thing to consider. You could store it upside down to shift where the pressure is or alternate rightside/upside after each use. I also live in Alaska, so the heat isn't too high here, which would (I think) allow for it to warp easier.

    Would it be possible to have one end lower then the other? I liked to hoist between my trusses of our pole barn so the angle of the roof would give it about a foot difference from from to back.

    Thanks for the tutorial, mine was similar but a different brand. The instructions were probably written in Chinese then translated to German then into Swahili then into Ancient Greece then back to Chinese and finally into English. Without your help I would be force to take an extension class in Swahili and Chinese.

    Do they have to be spaced a certain length away? I'm trying to hang some lights from this and this seems to be the only single string pulley system I can find

    • @aaronpayne1058
      @aaronpayne1058  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think the spacing matters so much as the routing of the rope. There likely needs to be a tiny bit of distance b/w them. That being said, there is a lot of slack, so you could probably space them out fairly far apart.

    I like how you say acrost or acrossed, I used to do that until my wife teased and corrected me. Now every time I say across, she says don't you mean acrost?

    howdy. how do you like the build quality of the RAD product ? In particular, 1. the pulleys look like plastic. Are they quality nylon, or something cheesier (polyurethane) ? 2. on the hooks, it looks like the arms are attached via a bolt to the central fork (presumably so they can hinge to assume the optimum angle for the slings). Do these hinge bolts look sturdy ? How are they capped ? basically a rivet, or a bolt/nut ? Thanks for your video !

    How high is your ceiling? Mine is 8 feet, will this hoist work for me? I have a hobie outback that I want to store, but I don’t know if I have enough height.

    • @aaronpayne1058
      @aaronpayne1058  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a 10 foot ceiling for me. The car carrier comes down 3 feet 3 inches from the ceiling, so in an 8' tall garage, that would put it 4'9" off the ground. However, if your craft is wider than my car top carrier or you take in some of the slack, you could probably raise it another 1-3 inches. Also, if you bolt directly along a wooden beam in the ceiling, you won't have the 1" board that I have, so that would bring you up another inch.
