    • @ProjektLament
      @ProjektLament 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Yeah property tax and regulation on real estate are the biggest factors driving people out of the state. You can't keep young people here. I'd rather have a sales tax and do away with continuous property tax than people having to pay $5k a year on a home they already bought.

    • @beepboopbeep5456
      @beepboopbeep5456 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There should be a way for older people to exempt themselves from property taxes, but the taxes are low compared to states with many tax streams, because when you have 1 tax you pay attention to it. It's also a tax that is more or less depending on what your local government is doing, which you have more control over than state level taxation. And, everyone pays it, renters, home owners, and businesses.

    I live in NH! 'Trashua' specifically. Although that only really describes the downtown portion of Nashua. Much of the rest of the city is very quaint and suburban. For three summers now I have been trying to buy a house in southern NH, but the real estate is becoming a crises here for first time home buyers. I can afford up to $350K, but every single house I bid on I am outbid and I lose even if I waive inspection (because everyone is doing that right now). A ton of people are coming to NH, and no one is leaving, driving the prices through the roof.

    I grew up in New England and have lived in NH for a decade, in multiple regions and cities/towns. This is super accurate overall. I'd add that there are some (small) nice parts of Nashua, but I agree that it's not really a "destination." Also, compared to many other states (and similar to VT), people here aren't very nice and go out of their way to avoid each other for the most part. You definitely don't get into sidewalk chats with random strangers on a regular basis and people keep each other at an arm's length until they have known you for years. It can feel very cold and off-putting if you aren't used to it.

    OK - I live in NH - I have for over 10 years. Good video, mostly accurate - missed A LOT - but, time and space doesn’t allow for much - understandable. I LOVE New Hampshire! Gorgeous state with LOTS to do. There is actually more than one beach but, Hampton is the biggest and most popular. Seafood is Awesome here. The White mountains are breathtaking and the Kancamagus Highway is a must do - Best Mountain View’s, trails, river, falls and the location of the Continental Divide (although it gets super busy and mobbed in the fall with a HUGE Indian population (not native) that descend on the HWY at this time. There can be traffic jams - this is somewhat new. Nice people tho. Not trying to be critical just informative. One can find everything in this state - ocean, mountains, farmlands, woods and wildlife. I almost hit a moose at least 3 times. Lots of bears too. Great Place. Nice video.
