Gotta love the gassers ! Then you throw in the altered w/b 😜 Most cars look ok w/ altered w/b ....but not a 65' Chevelle (can't remember ever seeing 1) but.... who cares the crazier the better after all its a Gasser Man 😉 Many drag strips across the US are having old school Gasser days. So cool seeing old and new gassers blasting down the 1320' 🙂👍 I hope they never go away ! Thank you for bringing back lots of old memories and creating new ones.... great build man ✌️🙂
In 1965 I started to "build" my 1957 Pontiac Super Chief 348 into a drag racer. Isky cam, dual AFB's, 2 ½ inch exhaust with side cut outs, high RPM stall speed B&M Hydro Stick trans, Posi-track rear end with M&H Street Slicks as rear tires. By 1966 I thought I had a winner. Then my Uncle came for me and scooped me up. While away, my little brother decided to "modify" the car as an "Art Project". Bye bye Pontiac. But - Hello hpiguys Workshop - the memory saver. Thanks for the build, Chris - FINE machine!
enjoyable build to watch. Thanks for that. I just got this kit myself. I have a nostalgic love for A/FX-AWB drag cars. I've recently been checking out various you tube model builders to help my skills and yours are the best, no nonsense clips I've watched so far. I look forward to more. Cheers!
I aways watch your videos an always pick up a trick an ideas from them keep up the great videos an the awesome work THANK YOU for your time, effort and enthusiasm CRIS keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The tires !! Thats why i loved MPC. no 2 piece tires like revell. AMT used to do it too. But MPC and monogram had the good tires. Im talking the 70s / early 80s.
I began building scale model cars mid '64, and remember this AWB model well from '65. Never thought I'd STILL be building them after all these years ! Back then, I didn't have many spare parts, but now I love to open one of these kits, and add details from my parts box I didn't have . I do remember this kit had 4-into-1 headers, and I've already found the set which I'll add to mine when the kit becomes available.
Your builds are simple brilliance. You do them in a way that average builders can do and make great looking cars. Not calling you an average builder at all. But you've made my building more enjoyable and cheaper.
Even though racing (including altered wheelbase) isn't my favorite genre of building, I nonetheless enjoy watching your videos in hopes of gleaning valuable building tips and methods from you, and you never disappoint! I'm an experienced modeler but I believe I always have room for improvement your videos provide that for me. Thank you Chris!
WOW! I built this back in the late 60's! I believe the original kits had stack injectors instead of a blower, not sure. Malcolm Durham had a similar car, called Strip Blazer, back in 66. The oil pan is backwards. It should be rear sump. Very nice.
Looks amazing as usual. I remember Malcom Durham driving the Strip Blazer Camaro from pictures in Hot Rod magazine. I got back into the hobby 6 years ago and always look forward to seeing your videos. This one's a definite keeper for me. Keep up the great work Chris
I usually do not get the gasser model cars, but i think it is intetesting that the local hobby shops are just now stocking the 1955 chevy gasser that you reviewed 9 months ago! Great video! Awesome content!
good to see this un back----have built all these "funny car" kits over the years and have always been concerned as to what keeps the rear fenders from drooping as there is a lot of air between the rear frame rails and the rear bumpers---also glad to see the "rubber" tires although the plastic tires didnt look to bad(just my opinion) if you painted them and scrapped the paint off the letters---oh my cure for the "floating" rear fenders was a piece of sheet plastic and some half round tubing
Great lookin build! I like how you went with the theme of the box art. Looks like it builds up into a sweet lookin subject. Looking forward to getting my hands on this one. 🤙🏼 Great video!
In other videos he said that was super glue/cyanoacrylate. It took a while to catch him say it. Just don’t get it near clear parts, it will fog them due to the fumes coming of it as it dries
I have a cheap photo-booth from Ebay and my $69 Motorola cell phone. I'd LOVE to take much better pics. I've seen pics by others and they look so nice. I've been accused by trolls of using photoshop and let me tell you, if I knew how to use a photoshop program I'd be able to hide my paint and decal mistakes, not leave them in the pics. LOL :)
Watching your videos has completely transformed my model building. Thanks! Question: What is the name of the attachment on your drill that you use to spin the tires for sanding?
Nicely done kit from Round 2, and great build, Chris... However, here comes the rant, and sadly, I'm gonna be that guy... Subject-wise, it's a dud for me. I'm 42, I done my share of muscle cars and got them out of my system, but there's not much from my era in model form, kinda like model companies took a little break from the mid eighties to mid nineties. For how long can you keep re-popping the same 60's and 70"s kits? They seem to spend all their money on sci-fi,, then on kits appealing on seasoned and old-time modelers, but not enough to bring the younger generations in the hobby. The classic snowball effect; less customers coming in the hobby, less money, less new kits, repopping old kits is cheaper, and you get a dying hobby in the end. If anyone from the model manufacturing is offended, go ahead and contact me; I've got enough experience in the auto business to be of some help!!!!
@Trueno1600 Don't be that guy! All kidding aside there have been a lot of 80's and 90's kits made that's my time period too. Chris has built some of the reissues
@@purpurahaze9179 Don't worry dude, I've seen the reissues; my wallet can attest to that thanks to Chris hahaha!!! It's just that many obvious 80's-90's classics are still missing... Where are the Jeep XJ Cherokee/MJ Comanche, Grand Wagoneer, squarebody GM Suburban, OJ Simpson era Ford Bronco,, 1994 Ford Probe, AMC Eagle, Chevy S-10 BAJA,, 1986 Toyota 4Runner and pickup, Mazda MX-3 Precidia, a proper non-curbside Suzuki Samurai,, to name a few...
@@Trueno1600 I've seen some Probe kits a stock one and a IMSA one from back in the day. Far as a OJ Bronco you would have to use one of the 80's ones and use the newer grille and taillights. There are some websites that have old kits at reasonable prices and factory sealed
Want some cheese with that wine l think it is a great kit waited a long time for something like this you keep on building your whatevers l stick stuff like this it's just a hobby

Another beautiful build!
I like the dark grey tub 👍 makes a interesting change 💯💥
I gotta git some of that kit
An old hot rod T shirt I used to have , "Injection is nice, but I'd rather be Blown" 😂
Moon tank should be attached to the front bumper
Nice. Would make a GR8 bash w/ the '65 GTO. Fender swap wouldn't that tough.
Many thanx 👍👍

Well, since it's fully blown, you don't need to call the bomb squad. Also, it's less messy, as it have blown somewhere else.

Another good kit from Round 2. They are bring out a ton of new kits this year. Excellent build an attention to detail. Thanks for sharing.
Great video as always. I love how simple you do your builds. An inspiration. I will not buy a newer kit unless I see your build/review of it.

Some original kits, like this one, did have supercharged engines. The Olds Streaker and the Dyno Don Mercury Cyclone also had supercharged engines.
What a great looking kit! Thanks Chris
That was a beautiful build. I can't wait to get mine !! WHOOOOO Have a GOOD ONE😊 🍔🏖👙🍻🍻☮️😎💚
~another great build~you did a great job once again~😀
Beautiful box art build Chris! I have mine on order! Wonderful presentation as always!
Good looking build, I'm looking forward to picking this one up!
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice 😅
Nice kit. I wish they would do more altered wheelbase cars
People who wear glasses are often called"specks".
I vote your nickname to be "gauges".
Beautiful
How long do you wait after painting do you wait before you add the floor polish too it?
Cool kit Chris, this chassis is awesome! Another great video!!!!!!!!

What do you do to make your builds shine. Great work
I may be mistaken but that oil pan looked like it was installed backwards.
Hi Chris
Curious what you ended up doing with the moon tank ?
What brand and type of glue are you using ?
Hi Chris! I have a question. What do you recommend for removing masking tape residue from paint that will not damage the paint job?
