I used mine for 5 years once a year.. and here we are, it failed.. only had mayby 3 hours of use in total. I don't have alot of bushes.. Power buton / saftey seem to be out of sync found this looking for fixes..
Is this a brushless motor? Do you ever have to sharpen the blades? Will it cut through briars.. I assume so. What happens when you hit a branch taht gets stuck or stops it - will it smoke the motor?
It is brushless. I would imagine you do have to sharpen them which I haven't yet but I'm a light user, also, lube. I have hit a branch it can't cut and the motor just stops. No smoking... just pull it away and start again. It's still doing the job.
@@how2togo Thanks. I ordered one about an hour ago with a 14 amp electric chainsaw. Going to be fun to use both while blind... as in.. I get a check from the government... blind. Got to fight back the jungle on the farm, so they are in for some serious brutality.
@@_JEBUS Yeah, mine did the same and bent the blade. So I bought another one, and then bought a 3rd with warranty, hoping to return the first with the warranty receipt. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt, so that was a waste of an extra $10 for the warranty. Still pretty good but you cut your extension cord a lot. I encased my cord in a ribbed vacuum cleaner tube on the end where I was working, so its far more visible (being bigger), falls more to the ground, and if the blade hits it, it just bounces off instead of cutting right through.

Get the warranty. Mine stopped working when it caught a thick branch. Wouldnt go anymore after that.
