    Y'all so stuck on her calling her husband daddy but fail to point out how dope it is to see a black man standing by his woman's side ! Y'all complain about not seeing enough of that and over look it. Rather she's right or wrong I applaud her husband for defending his women like a man should

      No. A real man wouldn't let his wife's life work go down the drain. A real man would step aside even if his wife disagrees. This man's happy to be in the limelight. A real man provide...let's not pretend he's not eating off his wife.

But a 9-5 employee for 26yrs; who was black balled because I took a stand not excepting being treated and talk to any kind of way by co workers of a different color; I was sent out the door. People felt it must have been me. I spokeup like you are doing now Mo. I'm a testimony from the experience like you. How Trusting in GOD and taking a stand. GOD will Bless You Ten Times Over. If I apply for a job in a company that I see in the classifieds, and I'm looking for $70,000 and they offer me $50,000, I'll try to negotiate. If they don't budge, I'll say thank you and move on. I won't make placards and picket outside the company offices, asking passers-by to boycott the company for discrimination. They don't OWE me that job. Netflix owes you NOTHING, Monique. Had they promised you an amount then reneged, you'd have a point. But they didn't. It was a job offer like any other. This entire debacle is pathetic and unbecoming. In the end, you're not going to win this one, especially when it comes to Oprah. She's not thinking about you.

    • @maxinewells7539
      @maxinewells7539 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      sbaglioscherzo You get it. What you described happened with the Precious movie also. She didn't honor her commitment to promote the movie. You don't accept a job for 50,000 then say oh this too much work I didn't signup for this. I want more money. Either you do the job or get fired. Same issue here except the Industry is different you won't promote the movie OK you get a reputation for not honoring your commitment. She was so FOCUSED on the money that she forgot God blessed her with an Oscar for that Movie. This is business, you don't like that amount wait for what you want. Get a professional qualified manager who deals with business not EMOTIONS.

This man is not qualified to be her manager. She would have been better off representing herself. If he so good at his job why she taking all the HEAT holding his hand. I never hear him speak any LOGIC on the facts or represent her in a positive way. Don't hi5 me youre my manger do your job . She keep getting the same result CHANGE is needed. He is destroying her career all in the name of Love. Love, emotions, hey my loves don't pay the bills LOGIC does.

      It is $50,000 that Monique is unhappy with since she got such a lowball pay for Precious. The movie made probably millions. Monique did the low budget movie as a favor to her friend Lee Daniels. Her husband has turned a bad contract signed by Monique into a racial war. Her biggest mistake is her mouthy husband. Now she keeps digging herself deeper and deeper away from regaining the respect of the movers and shakers. He has turned Monique into an angry unforgiving person. Her humor is unforgettable. She is terrific when she had a talk show. Whenever I am down I play from TH-cam the hilarious interview Monique did with a former TLC band member about the youngest member in the band (Lisa??) when Lisa heard they were drastically undercut for a record that made millions and thet got paid peanuts. Anyhow Lisa said to the other members to get ready because they were going to do some serious damage to their manager. Apparently Puff daddy got wind of this and gave the manager a tip that probably saved his life to get ready. What is so hilarious is when Monique looks right into the camera and says "Puff daddy, stay out of their business and stop being a snitch" (these are my words paraphrasing however very close to Monique's punchline). Every time I watch this I crack up). My point is this "Monique, please let go of the anger it will eat you up and spit you out. Instead like someone wrote earlier, START your own production company and fire that negative jerk of a manager. Please. You are an Oscar winner because you earned it. You have so much talent. Acting, Tv personality, GREAT stand up, very personable and beauty. God gave you so many talents to brighten others' lives. What you do with those gifts is your gift to God.

      Nobody in hollywood "automatically" hands any one a check, black or white. When will you people get that through your head?? If you want something in hollywood you either come to the table and convince someone to give it to you or you take it. Theres no in between. If I were in her shoes I would have did those overseas interviews to increase MY OWN BRAND. Yall forget the fact that she is not only promoting the movie, but promoting herself as well. Theres plenty of artists who came up mainly off of staying in peoples faces by doing small publicity like interviews, commercials, social media etc.

  • @konjurekatrina
    @konjurekatrina 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Unfortunately , Mo'Nique won't even listen to Whoopie Goldberg. Mo had a career before Sydney took over as her manager. She doesn't really have one now. Mo'Nique should have gone to Cannes to promote "Precious"! She likes to say that Lee Daniels, Oprah, and Tyler Perry f'ed her over by expecting her to "promote Precious for free". Uh, she won an OSCAR because of those people! Actors (and everyone else who gets Oscars) don't just win an Academy Award in a vacuum. Lee Daniels wasn't able to pay her as this was a low budget movie. So he endeavored to MAKE IT UP TO HER by campaigning for her to win. As did Oprah and Tyler Perry. THAT'S why she won. It's rather staggering to me that Mo'Nique and Sydney can't seem to understand this . Mo winning an Oscar would have definitely propelled her into a major movie career. But she decided to speak out publicly against Oprah, Lee, and Tyler. Yes, Oprah's having Mo's family on her show was bad. She should have kept that private. And apparently she confronted Oprah at the Legend's Ball?? Oprah was honoring all of the Black Actresses, Singers, Dancers etc who haven't been honored by show business. Mo apparently thought that wasn't as important as what she had to say. One of the biggest moments in the life of legendary Black Women was NOT the place to err Mo'Nique's grievances. Maybe Sydney should get another job that doesn't have to do with Mo'Nique? Real men don't make money off of their wives. And then flush that wife's career down the toilet by being inexperienced and a poor negotiator . Sigh

Mo'Nique and Sidney have already stated that they do not want to invest their own money into Mo'Nique's projects. They want outside investors to spend their money on Mo'Nique. This is why Mo'Nique will not let go of this topic. She doesn't want to put in the work or the risk for her own product.

    • @dctlovely3556
      @dctlovely3556 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ezzy E It is truly sad. I think part of Mo'Nique's issue is that she is not necessarily a creative mind. I don't think a lot of people realize just how hard it is to be creative and come up with new ideas and concepts, and I think that is scary for Mo'Nique. I suspect that may be the actual reason she prefers to work for other people, rather than do something on her own.
      I remember many years ago, when there were a lot of Black comedy shows on television. There was a show where there was a group of comedians who would go up against each other with improvised, on-the-spot jokes, basically an older version of Wild 'N Out. Mo'Nique's jokes always fell flat and the audience would just moan at how bad they were. I used to cringe, sometimes. Tracy Morgan was always nice to her and would help her out on the show.

    I logged off when she said she can’t sell out an arena, after complaining about about Amy Schumer money who sold out Madison Square Garden twice, then compared herself to Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor two of the most iconic successful comedians ever, who could easily sell out an arena, Eddie Murphy raw is the highest earning comedy special ever I’m officially done with Mo’Nique, I wish her and her husband the best

      Because they don't see anything they did as wrong. It really started when she refused to promote Precious. It's customary for people to promote their films especially if it's an awards contender, but it wasn't in her contract and they were asking her to do it for free.

      Queen Ferrier When you see artists (actors,actresses,musicians) on TV, radio & red carpets doing promo, do you think they're all getting paid? The answer is NO!. it's called promotion. You're promoting your project then you reap the benefits later.

      Duke Gilyard Exactly! These people aren't understanding that. Actors don't get compensated for movie promos, especially for a low budget film. They barely had money to make the money. She knew damn well they didn't have money to pay her to promote it.

    So, the woman who is ACTUALLY the most decorated comedian (has all the major awards) told her to let it go and move on and Monique won't listen to her advice. Huh, look at that, since Monique don't wanna listen to Whoopi, netflix don't have to pay you what you think you should get. Being the most decorated comedian then means that doesn't guarantee you anything. Is she getting anywhere with these press runs? I'm black and the more videos I see of her doing these talks and calling her manager (husband) daddy the more I'm buying multiple netflix subscriptions. All this time she is spending complaining she could be using on getting her own special together or coming up with some new material. Actually, OH MY GOD. Monique is a genius, all of this is new material because I been laughing ever since the boycott video. HAHAHAH, you go girl.

    A black man managing his wife in movie,or entertainment industry is unheard of since Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday it's quite rare! It seems Sydney is a smart man who loves his wife and wants the best for her career, family and marriage. We need more men/brothers like him. I'm looking forward to more movies, sitcoms, hopefully a talk show and or owning your own cable network, beyond the stars is the limit for you! Mo'Nique you're a power house! I hope Hollywood, Oprah , Liongate all come around and so the right thing! Because people are rich and famous, doesn't mean they're always right! You are paving a better way for the young women who are coming up as Hattie Danials, Josephine Baker, Dorothy Dandridge did for us! Honestly, I've never been a big fan of Oprah's, and I'm form Chicago! She's not a great actress, but she is smart. If I had a choice to watch her or you as a talk show host, I'm watching Mo'Nique every time hands down!! Is Oprah an important black figure, yes, BUT so are you even more so! Like Colin Kapernack you're way more important to our culture then just a celebrity actress. God has many hats for you sister! I pray for your continued success and out spokeness to thw truth. So glad your "Daddy" is your man and manager!!! Peace and blessings to you and family with a double scoop of love and happiness!!

    People talking about it is her husband and Whoopi is right, but let’s keep in mind that Whoopi likes white men. 🤔 And I’m not races. I am black and white, amongst other things. I say that to say this; Whoopi wouldn’t know a good man if he slapped her glasses off her face. Mo been married for what, 14 years, not saying that means he’s a good man but from the looks of it Sid seems like a stand up guy who stands BESIDE his woman. Not in front, not behind but beside. And that’s a huge thing that’s hard to find. So for Whoopi to say that is just outright ridiculous. Cause she has no “good man” in her life, just seems like some hater shit. 💁🏽‍♀️

    Nothing will be changed overnight. How you get the equality is to change within tell these little black boys and girls to go to college so they become the executive director of Netflix's and their own streaming services so that inequality has to change because the faces have changed! If you in your lifetime wouldn't be able to change at least you started the charge by educating our black community! Don't expect Oprah, Tyler Perry to stand by you! Change things for you for us. I'm a grown ass woman don't call no man Daddy in front of your public I can't respect that. Equality is what your preaching however your calling your husband daddy and he is supposed to be your equal, but when you say daddy is that not being subservient? No not at all we walk along side. Call me by my name. Know I feel bad you have father issues but that husband can't fix it! Your a strong black woman! Big fan of yours I see you in me. Just think about doing it another way

    Did this brother just say his credentials is common sense, with a straight face? He talkin' about some, he closed 6-7 figure deals at 19 in Baltimore. If this man ain't a con-artist, I don't know who is. He comes off as sophisticated and very articulate, and if you don't know any better, you'll think he's the real deal, but listen real carefully to what he's saying and you'll see that it doesn't make sense. I pegged Monique right. I said she wasn't going to listen to no one when it comes to her husband. First, Sheryl Underwood and now Whoopi Goldberg, both comedians, AND ON SUCCESSUL TALK SHOWS ON ABC & CBS, have told her about that man. Monique's only comeback is "where's your man/husband?" as if having a man gives her higher social/moral status. How that husband working out for her professionally? Horribly. How is their single life working out for them professionally? Beautifully. They make millions every year. Once again, she's comparing herself to other comedians, now Rosanne Barr. Excuse me, but when was The Parkers as big as the Roseanne show which was on a major network, not UPN or BET. Roseanne won Emmys for that role. Yet, Monique wants Roseanne type of money but wasn't bringing in the Roseanne type of ratings. She has a false sense of self. I couldn't finish watch this. Her hater list keeps getting longer and longer. The only people on board with her are the uneducated and bitter Black women that she's preying upon and emotionally exploiting. She's doing the same thing to them that Donald Trump is doing to poor uneducated whites. She's done. All that talent wasted. A good husband doesn't always equate to a good manager.
