How to turn off TalkBack screen reader

Can you imagine how many users around the world have been tormented and traumatized by the activation of this damned disabling status, for which no prior warning or information was ever provided. Access to phone functionality is almost completely eliminated, and it's almost impossible to even do a Google search for guidance. Shame on whoever set this up with zero consideration for users who don't need or want it.

If you have a XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 11 and you can't unlock your phone (and it doesn't stop talking so you can't turn off Talkback using the 3 second Volume up+Volume down trick): when swiping up, use TWO fingers (instead of just one) to unlock the screen, insert your unlock pattern or code and THEN you can use the trick. It was driving me crazy since it wouldn't stop talking and there was no other way to unlock the home screen after insterting my PIN code . This video was actually useful, thank you.

Somehow got stuck in this mode while my phone was in my pocket. Almost threw my phone against the wall this was so stupid and annoying. There should be ONE very specific way to turn this feature on. Not 4 or five accidental ways.

Back in 2015 , where I had to replace my phone unit with new one bcoz of unable to turn off Talkback or atleast can't even unlock the phone (swipe up method) Thanks to the mobile store for accepting to replace with new unit by making them misunderstand that the unit was defected 😂 happened after 3rd day of buying my first smartphone

I guess you don't have the problem anymore, but try using two fingers instead of one to unlock your home screen. Then you can use the 3 second Volume up+Volume down trick. I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy.

Thank you for this. I accidentally enabled talkback in a phone that doesn't have talkback. Holding both volume buttons did the trick. I have no clue as to how I got there but I'm glad I'm out!
