I of course started out with hoops. Not only did I get a circle indent on the fabric it also would leave a grime mark on my fabric. probably oils from my hands. I also found no matter how hard I tightened it I was always loosing tension! Qsnap for the win, so easy to find and affordable. I use 8x8 and 11x11 and a bigger one on my lowery stand for large projects.

I recently started stitching in hand without a frame. It was weird at first but I kind of love it now.
I do that quite often with small pieces. I maybe should have mentioned that as an option.
