A RETURN TO THE "DITCH" FOR A BIVY IN HARWOOD FOREST

- A return to Harwood Forest for a camp, I returned to the "Ditch" for a bivi, it was so windy I found a sheltered Ditch and set up the Tarp as a Tent, Did my cooking on a Stump ! A lovely peaceful camp on the edge of the dense forest.
Nice one , food looked great. Something magic about camping on an old hill fort. Such a shame about the fire pit , these idiots risk spoiling it for all of us.

Yes it’s a good spot, I am sure it’s only right to respect the areas around trig points even more so than hidden areas.

Thanks for watching mark, just love a bivy, I keep my head ou, fell asleep looking up then woke up up to heavy rain on my face in the night ! But still loved it, no rain was forecast and the sky was blue !

@@northumberlandmountainhopper I suppose that is definitely an upside... They must smell me when I'm leaving the house and lie in wait saying the buffet is on the way. Or there's an app like just eat for midge 🤣. I can't get moved when they about... Add about 1kg of jungle formula to my pack just to walk a few miles on a nice day 😂.

Great video Adrian, really enjoyed watching it. I think a few of us camped out that night and the wind was a definite feature. Looks like you've found a great little area to camp in, the peacefullnes of Harwood really came across, ATB, Graham
Thanks Graham, it really is peaceful up there,did not enjoy the tarp as a tent mind prefer a tarp to be a tarp,it was just so windy in the ditches !

Hi Simon, this camp is was around 17kilo but normally I carry around 14/15 I will start weighing each one as I can just use the suitcase scales, wish I could be ultralight when I go up the hills be much easier on the body ! Trouble is I carry 5 or 6 litres of water most times as I like my coffee etc, but always empty some out prior to the walk out, maybes I should bring my filter.

Great little spot that , that stir fry looked nice mind , looked a nice chill out camp , pity about the firepit left up there , it takes nothing just to leave no trace mate , good to see you out again , atb Deka 👍🏻🏕😎
