- This is one of my favorite songs from the 80's that also happens to have a fantastic bass line. I removed the bass using the Moises software so what you are hearing is just me....sorry about that, lol.
I am using my 1979 Music Man Stingray into an Origin Effects Super Vintage (SVT) pedal from the DI out (so you get the 8x10 cabinet sim) plugged into my Motu M2 interface.
The bass line in this song is phenomenal and doesn't get enough credit
I fully agree. I love this song and talk talk. I also play this bass line recently
The bass line IS this song
Makes you ralise how good Paul Webb was and is. He and Lee were a brilliant rhythm section.
Talk Talk have aged like fine wine in a way no other band from the 80s have.
This song takes me back to being a young teenager. I don’t think I realized back then how brilliant this track is.
One of my favorite pop bass lines.
That line is the reason I started listening to Talk Talk. Phenomenal!
Great job, It 's funny that you have to grow older to really really appreciate this music. I'm 60 and just now appreciating the tone and bass on this song. Always a great song, but the different tones and instruments are superb. Fabulous 👍
I’m 57 & have really got into the songs of my youth with a new found appreciation of what the bass guitar brings to these songs. I liked this song as a teenager but love it as an adult. What a voice Mark Hollis had!
He sure makes playing this brilliant base line look easy, his fretting looks effortless. Well done!
Strange thing is I really liked this song back in the day and never paid any attention to the bassline thank you for putting it front and center it gives me another reason to like it
The Eighties - fantastic music. Very good bass-job! Very nice. Thank you!
It's absolute genius.
Your cover is good on sound and feel. Watch the timing! :)
I die for this song. LOVE it SO MUCH ❤
Just listened to this on the radio yesterday and realized what a great bass line it is. Nice job!
Well played and I just can't help but admire your playing technique on your left hand, it just looks so smooth and effortless🤩
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Great job John!! Your playing with or over the track does show how prominent the bass line is in this stellar song. Thank you.
Really well done...One of the best bass line of the 80's
Thank you! I agree, this really is one of the best bass lines of the 80's.
Talking 80's super bass line try "Un'estate al mare" by Italian singer Giuni Russo.

One of the most fun basslines to play! You nailed it too! I love the trumpet solo in this song too.
Thank you so much!
There's no trumpets in this song.
@@duhusker4383 There is, check the liner notes. I thought it was a clarinet initially.
Superb !!!
Wonderful. Great performance!
The bass is "Bach"a go go !.. Great bass Idea... Love the ethereal animal/nature back drop sound.

Je decouvre la basse de Its my life alors que j'avais 20 ans à sa sortie. Cest trop fort. Y a un remix sur YT quii est super aussi
🎵🎸💎😎👌
😮👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
You make this look so easy, which I am sure it's not.
Thank you for the kind words!
Muito bom
Great! I was happy to see that you don’t need to stretch too long over the fret board. Only fairly small movements up and down. It’s sutch a good bass line. It flow and carry the hole song so good.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
@@delucajohn2000 your’e welcome, and thank you. I have seen a few covers and finger placement is so different. A individual thing. So there more than one say to skin that cat. There’s a will, there’s a way. Cheers!
Great feel thanks, did the backing track have bass in it? Or?
I used a program called Moises which lets you remove different parts of the track like bass, vocals, drums, etc. It's a great tool for isolating the bass to hear it better or removing parts to help you play along.
Loved it, fantastic track by fantastic band.
good job, good playing technique also! did you try it on a fretless? the original was played on a fretless.
Wow, i had no idea it was on a fretless. I have been doing more fretless playing lately so I will have to play along to this one again. Thanks for the tip!
@@delucajohn2000 nice, make a recording of that version too! 😀
Is that a status energy on the wall there fella?
Which one were you thinking is a Status? I do have a few Status basses but none of them are behind me in this video.
That’s a tricky line to play…….how many basses have you got? !!,😅
Show.
That guy's good
Still prefer the cover of this
who will ever anyhow...Nobody knows anything
Awesome job!
Wel done,John!! That is the clearest I ever heard the bass on this great song! Thx!
Thank you so much for the kind words! This song has such a great bass line and really is fun to play.
