The Grove Tiny Homes were spared from the wildfires. If you'd like to support those that have lost their homes in the recent California wildfires, we have provided some links in the video description.
@@elsie9649 Is it wise to move a tiny house during a natural disaster, especially a wildfire? One mishap, like jack-knifing or a blown tire, and cars can be trapped behind you. Not to mention blocking fire trucks and paramedics heading in.
This is a beautiful tiny home. It's nice to know the home was spared in the fires. Hopefully this can be a solution for so many who lost everything in LA County.
Thank you so much for letting us know that the homes were saved. My heart dropped when I realized the video had been made before the fires. Beautiful homes.
Thanks for letting us know about the fires and for providing links. The devastation has been overwhelming. I wondered looking at these beautiful homes whether or not they were still standing and I'm glad to hear they are.
I think the popularity of the tiny house movement will skyrocket after the LA wildfires. Sending thoughts and prayers for everyone who's affected. Thanks for the video, Jenna.
Top of the line finishes from the type of woods to the appliances Stunning to look at - true pieces of art. Thank you for sharing and letting us know they survived the fires.
YESSS!! I’ve been thinking all they need to do is downsize or rebuild but not quite as big and they’ll have it faster if not pretty instantly! They don’t necessarily need so much and some probably realize that now. Leave the lanes at the bowling alley. 😂😅 I don’t know if you’ve done any videos on dome houses, or dome homes, but you should. I think the exterior shell of the dome is actually put up within a day because that’s how they’re built if my memory serves me correctly. They’re fireproof, hurricane-proof, tornado-proof, earthquake-proof. They’re only not impervious to floods or tsunamis. 😅 I think they’re inexpensive for what they are. Almost indestructible. I would love to see a Casa de Tortugas themed dome house in which there are palm trees on either side and the dome of the house is made to look like a tortoise’s shell. It’s up to the homeowner how they want to create the legs and feet, if at all. I think it would be adorable with or without feet and head.
The bigger unit is more viable, but the lack of upper cabinets in the kitchen is a miss-step. I also didn't see a dishwasher - I don't care for them - but you need a large single bowl sink if hand washing is the only option. No mention of a washing machine either. I love the swing out garage door and the neat solution to avoid a roll over mechanism.
Hopefully a company that builds tiny homes can donate tiny homes to ones in California that lost their homes while there rebuilding. Living in California you’d need a tiny home that is mobile so at least you can load it with valuables and pets an move out .
LOVE the architectural vernacular of this home. PERFECT for the site! But luxury? Whatever. The correct wood for this concept would have been BIRCHWOOD, apropos the Birchwood Beauties it calls to mind. ❤❤❤
So inspiring. Was wondering if you could do a better window treatment on those beautiful circular windows with a flexible ceiling Mount track. You could draw 2/3 of the curtain towards the centre of the tiny house.
Me personally, I feel like any home owner who lost their home to the fire should be able to do whatever they want.. I wouldn’t care if it’s tents, tiny homes, pre fans, rv’s ,even some 2x4s put together. It’s THEIR property and it’s not the their fault but then again this is America so that will never happen unfortunately
No doubt beautifully designed and looks like well built. So glad the homes were not lost in those devastating fires. A few things though (and some of it is admittedly nitpicking): that 40' model looks like 10' wide. Might be good to point out the permit requirements for moving it. Also, the community considers it a tiny house if it's under 300 square feet. 350 square feet is a small house, not a tiny house. The incinerating toilet takes 60 seconds, not 60 minutes, and there are some quality control issues with that model/brand. The outdoor units for heat pumps are called condensers. And the 'garage door' mechanisms are linear actuators, not hydraulics. And I would have mounted them reverse to reduce the size requirement and reverse the opening speed (fast to slow), similar to the struts on the kitchen window. I'll see myself out.
@@saulgoodman2018 The finer materials in life cost too much and besides, if you have to ask you can't afford it. He probably sold them both for a ton of money. The rich in Malibu now don't have a place to live. I'm sure the builder is sitting pretty with a bunch of cash right now. Or is renting them out at top dollar.
Beautiful design, but way too high end for many budgets. I suspect there are ways to skip the luxury and create affordable options for retired teachers, etc., like me, who hate ugly boxes. Don't need or want the bells and whistles, just beautiful simplicity.
I like the design of the home. However, you showed us one bedroom in the 40ft space. What if you have two children? Is the livingroom designed to cater for a sofa that could be converted into a bed- designed in a way for privacy.
My terrible brain looks at that huge door held out by those rams and thinks "One day those rams could give out and yeet someone through their back wall.
This isn’t really off-grid optional lol… Where’s the battery storage area for the solar panels and stuff? Just because you can move it doesn’t mean it’s off-grid capable… 😅 It’s a luxury mobile home. This one is definitely an Airbnb. Please stop showing Airbnbs because you’re getting a huge personal discount if not a free stay. Airbnb is a big part of the problem as to why there are virtually NO starter homes available anymore. It’s a pretty, tiny, Airbnb. And the Airbnb aspect is evident to anyone remotely paying attention. It’s not really a livable space… UGH AIRBNB. No storage, washer or dryer… It’s a very short-term luxury Airbnb rental.
"Airbnb is a big part of the problem as to why there are virtually NO starter homes available anymore." Agreed. But I prefer this channel tour Airbnb tiny homes for both the ideas they spark and to keep from running low on content. Branching out is good.
Hi there. Just fyi we did not receive any compensation, free or otherwise for this video. Also these aren’t airbnbs. But, even if they were, I don’t see any problem with showcasing them for tiny house design ideas and in case someone wants an affordable, offgrid second home.
YOUR triggers are YOUR responsibility. You could try focusing on something more positive or you could just take everything personal and let everything upset you even when it wasn’t intended to target you. 🙄

I'm glad you told us.. that's what I was thinking.. nice homes
@@DaveWebb-ec8sk I think everyone was thinking if there are still standing. But they can easily be moved.
Not a bad time to ever show how to remove a house from a bad area. Tiny on wheels for a reason.
Well done x2🎉

Totally agree, unfortunately @@saulgoodman2018
Thanks for the wildfire update. As soon as I read the title I wondered if they were affected; appreciate you letting us know.
Beautiful, love the round windows
Phenomenal ❤ I love everything about both of those tiny homes ❤ thanks for sharing your creation
The big one. Lovely. ❤😊 We had a lovely 40fot camper and it was lovely. But I would swoped it for this a😅😅😂ny time.
House-like take on the iconic 5th wheel. Excellent job!
I am glad that you save your home.

Truly, one of the better designs I've seen for a tiny home. 👍

Gorgeous! Stunning! But where is the storage for clothing etc?
Love the ethos of the high-sustainability choices made for both of these units.
Nicely Done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Where are the battery banks located? Does this tiny house have solar panels for off grid?
Beautiful.
Love the 40ft home.
Very pretty. The small one looks good for a short stay, but not a home.
That is so cool
I’m glad the fires didn’t get them. The second house was livable, just would’ve like to see the fridge there. The bedroom was my favorite room.
I love it. ❤

Is it still standing?
Nice ask
The first comment says that they survived the fires 🔥👋🇨🇦
It's like people don't watch the whole thing?
This is the answer to affordability.
Very beautiful 😮 probably costs as much as a real house
Lol, nope.
Are any of those still there?
Interesting, there is no storage for clothing in either house!
I couldn't find pricing information on their website either.
portable vacation home.
So wats under bed wen u go up stairs
Love the overall design. Just move the windows to the kitchen/living area. I want small or no windows in the bedroom so I can sleep. 🎉
How much, WHERE

@ The rich in Malibu, most likely have a second house on the east coast.
What of flammability of these tiny homes?
Prices?
This is very pretty, but looks more like an airbnb than an actual home.
What about laundry?
If you could afford these tiny homes you can afford a butler to take your clothes to the laundromat.

Cool designs. Did the homes survive the fires?
Hi what about a price please let me know thanks
I wonder what you could design, turning a 53ft dryvan trailer into a tiny house, with a nice deck?
It’s not really luxury if they make you go to the laundromat. 😅
Please tell me they survived the fires, they're so beautiful?
I don’t like the window open without mosquitoes screen. We have a lots of mosquitoes in California when the weather is warmer.

I would close off the bedroom as a separate, private area.
Are they stil there or taken by the fire's??😢😢😢😊
Good question.
Thankfully these homes are safe!

where do you put your clothes?????????
I had them put five alcoves in my shower.
How does an "incinerating toilet" work? Is there water involved? How is the water evaporated? How much smell does it produced?
There's nothing like the smell of burning poop in the morning.
Google Cinderella toilets. No water needed.
Google
My comment was randomly "unalived" by TH-cam - wtf? Anyway, just google Cinderella toilets and you will find what you want to know. No water involved.
So it is not burned in the wildfire?
No it's fine
These are too eclectic for me as well as too tiny. Storage seems to be lacking.
