  • No Honeycrisp, no Gala, no Fuji, sorry guys! Try Golden Dorsett, Ghost, and Einsheimer instead. Pears try Southern King, or any light southern pear. Plums try Santa Rosa

Anna apple has done well for me in Phoenix over the last 9 years. Tons of good tasting apples from one tree (it’s obviously self-fertile). Not as good tasting as Fuji, Gala, Honeycrisp, etc. but it’s good. They’re yellow-green with a touch of red, the fruit is firm like a Granny Smith, and the flavor is lightly sweet.

For all those wondering there is an apple variety that does not require chill hours to fruit. It is called Afri-star and it produces fully red apples. You can grow this variety in climates with no chill hours (tropics/subtropics). Grows best in full sun. I am pretty sure it will grow in Phoenix, Arizona.

I have over 20 fig trees. All different varieties. I could eat figs all day everyday and I never get sick of them!

Jay, I know this video is about apples, but I think you are more apt to see my quustion here than on a 3 y/o video. I REALLY want to get some moringa seeds from you from your fav tree. How can I get some? Thanks!

Get a bag of Surround WP Kaolin Clay. It will last for years. Spray-on sunscreen.

Great video! Just had my first harvest off my Santa Rosa Plum last year and just planted a Keiffer Pear. Thanks for the reassurance for my choices - I’m in Las Vegas!

Any ideas on how to help a seedling star fruit recover from transplant shock?
