    When we were kids and money was tight this was a regular meal for us as it was cheap but healthy. It was made with half milk and half water and some sugar and we would have a spoonful of homemade made jam to add to our dish to flavour it. Happy days. Thanks for your recipe chef.

    Came out wayyy better than my lumpy semolina! I would love to taste your porridge I think it's interesting that you used condensed milk as a substitute for sugar

    This is so awesome! You can do it the opposite way, first fry the semolina in butter and slowly keep adding the liquids!

    You can correct it if it is too thin. I start with water on the stove and add semolina until it is proper for my taste. The important part is to not put too much in the start and stir a lot.

    I've apparently been making this wrong my whole life 😂 I heat my water, coconut milk powder, condensed milk (and milk if using) all together get it almost boiling then add my semolina, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, cardamom, all spice and salt then whisk continuously until cooked, I take it off the heat just before it's the right thickness cos of how it thickens as it cools. I sprinkle nutmeg at the end and a lil drizzle of condensed milk. I add orange zest to mine cos it cuts through the sweetness and brings out the flavours.

    Why the addition of SALT, and Condense milk?.... these are all too sweat to add. Does it replace the avoidance of adding sugar. But what about Brown sugar. Why also use Cinnamon powder?...Why can't you boil the water with Cinnamon sticks instead to get a more natural taste. I've never made Semolina, but wanted to try and make some with the memory of how my parents made it it in the 60's, in London. But it wasn't with the ingredients, and questions I suggested. It was with Butter, and Sugar, Cinnamon sticks and that's it. Salt should be a no-no.

    • @jazzochannel
      @jazzochannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Salt enhances the taste. I'd say butter is a no-no.

    • @MzFeefi
      @MzFeefi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Condensed milk is the sweetener of his choice. It can't be too sweet unless you put too much. Just use what you prefer and as the previous person commented, the salt is a flavour enhancer, just omit if you don't want...as to the cinnamon...again use what you want/have.
