@@ZacharyBittner It's not everyone in Quebec, but I think many people are very aware of the past and are using it as grounds of solidarity with others. We are a nation of colonists who later were colonized, and now we've mostly decolonized. While individuals are free to live up to the 'American dream', some decide to look back at our collective history for meaning. I think we are in a privileged position to understand what losing our traditions/way of life really means. Not only just for us, but for all peoples. For me, getting back to my own roots helps me connect with others!
We're also facing climate change in a really clear way. I'm 40, in my life time winter shortened by 2 months and half the snow while summer from a moody affair with barely any sunny days to a succcession of heat waves. There is verry little climate change denial here because we see it in action verry easily.
I think it's because we encourage these kind of songs. A way to show that we are different than the rest of America. Not that we do much to resolve the issues.... (This is only my opinion)

I choose Obviousness denial to make it fit into the rythm of the song ("we dance the dance of denial of the evident" is two syllable too long) and to make it (badly) rhyme with "state of emergency denial" ("we dance the dance of the evident denial" dosen't really work grammatically and is still too long)
