I’m not quite understanding what your getting at
I ~should~ have realized there was a problem when I saw a bunch of fluid on the outside of my passenger tire in a peculiar pattern, but I chalked it up to maybe driving through a puddle with some kind of solvent in it
That spray pattern was the initial malfunction of my passenger side caliper ~not~ clamping properly and instead letting some brake fluid out
2 days later I was pulling up to a customers house and had to pump my brakes to finish stopping because (seemingly) out of nowhere I had my foot to the floor but wasn’t stopping very well at all
I was able to stop but when I left to go back to the store after my delivery I had virtually no stopping power. I *thought* I had all my brake fluid, but I mistook the full line STAIN on my brake fluid reservoir as my **current** fluid level… it was not
I SWEAR I saw a little fluid swish around when I wiggled the tank, but clearly I was wrong because I limped him home and got a ride back to work, and when I limped him to the shop that last did my brakes the next morning, they showed me I was bone dry on brake fluid and that the spray pattern on my tire was indeed from brake fluid loss from a faulty caliper. They warrantied it out and was good to go within an hour
In hindsight I should’ve taken him in those few days prior cause I’d never seen a spray pattern like that, but now I know (and knowing is half the battle)

In Yellowstone, there is repair shops, but they're like double the cost of home, or more. As for Macguyver style fixes, it's solid. But, considering the tools he had to remove everything, once he left the park he could have put it back togther with parts that weren't so terribly overpriced.
