Bath Time For Cherryhead Tortoises!!

In this video I give my cherryhead redfoot tortoises a bath in order to treat a fungal infection that they have on their plastron. This is easy to treat and not a huge risk but if left unattended for too long it can be deadly to the tortoises.

Yes it will, I’ve used it to cure shell rot. I just let it dry out for little before putting them back in water.

Wouldn't you pass the fungus between them using the same brush?
How do they get the fungus?

No it’s more about high humidity and it being left untreated. If they are sprayed down and kept in an enclosure they can dry up in it’ll start going away. It doesn’t spread that easily or quickly. If I notice it on another tort I can just spray it down.

Elongated tortoises are awesome! They stay a groom size and eat a variety of things like redfoots
