Hey Ryan, I think you need to add this to the playlist because I was having a hard time finding it until it popped up on my home feed. Also, thank you for ruining TH-cam for me. Haha. I have watched all of this ride of you and Ali twice now and am frantically searching for something else that is even close to comparable to fill the void. Lol. Seriously some awesome work and advice. Keep it up!

Ryan, that was another beautiful video and I enjoyed it very much. It's cool to see that somebody still has a merry-go-round and Teeter totters in the playground. Of course those items are hazardous, but many people survived with them in the playground and got lasting memories of their experiences good or bad :-) I never heard of grass-covered sand dunes, but I'm wondering what enable them to be possible? Some kind of soil had to be blown around to sustain grass. I'm a mountain snob. I never thought I could enjoy watching Nebraska for that long, but you and Ali certainly make it more palatable!

So many Colorado people sneer at Nebraska-at anything to the east, really-but the sandhills are one of the coolest landscapes to explore. I just joined up with a Longmont guy who has started an effort to create the Great Plains Trail, from the Guadalupe Mountains in Tejas, across the Oklahoma panhandle, through eastern Colorado (with a dip into Denver!), through the Nebraska sandhills, then South Dakota and North Dakota and a final dip into Montana before reaching the Canadian border. Front Range people, look up Lake McConoughy, a four-hour drive from the Denver metro area ... you won't be sorry!

Ryan I love your channel! I started watching when you and Ali began your journey across America...and then you went away! I was so sad, but then you came back and I was happy again!! You are such a great team. My wife and I have been married 43 years. We began dating in high school then went away to separate colleges and stayed together and got married! She has always been my best friend and I think the reason we've stayed together all these years is we know how to compromise. Hey I can't figure out why you have not landed a big national gig! You are such a great guy! Look forward to all your videos. Don't lose Ali! She's beautiful smart and talented.

Ryan and Ali I enjoy your videos a lot first because you are such cheerful guys and second I learn many things from your observations about different people and communities you meet. And I know Dana from your biketour in Cuba. She is a great woman and I love her personality. You know, in eastern countries women are not so active physically even when they live in western countries and seeing women like Ali and Dana with their easy going personality is great. Hope to see you in Europe. Please inform us if you have plans in Europe specially in or around germany. I'm excited to meet you. Thanks

Another great video, you two! Hey Ali, I was hit on the left temple by something just the other day. It seemed to sting at the time, so I stopped but couldn't see or feel anything, so I rode on. When I got home, there wasn't even a mark, which was somewhat disappointing. Anyway, I look forward to more of the trip and especially the rail-trail section with the other two ladies. Ride on!

New viewer. There is so much to see and do that it is a real shame that it's considered a fly over state. From the East to the West tons to see and do and tons of history. In the panhandle there is Ft. Robinson. You can still see the wagon wheel tracks from the old Chisolm Trail! And that is not to mention the wildlife! Pronghorn antelope, Big Horn Sheep and lots more. Your video has brought back memories of my childhood. Thank you.

It's me again. Dude, another Minnesota connection. Two in one video (sort of) Your pal was going to Minnesota (as I said before we're from there) second one we were just in Valentine, Nebraska. They have a wonderful beautiful city park you can camp in. We spent a night there in our van and were also surprised to see the bike path you're talking about. Super cool that you're going on it so we can see it.

What part of Honduras were you in? I did a number of short term mission trips there. We stayed in La Ceiba and worked in smaller communities within 30 minutes or so from there. I met some wonderful people there.

It’s sad really what the big box stores have done to ma and pa stores . They have had disastrous effects on small towns and big cities . From the neighborhood hardware story to the corner stores and pharmacy.

I lived in Orlando fl. Years ago we were driving I-10 just past Tucson. I was still in high school.
Just driving along and I noticed a guy way way down the road, The way he stood with his thumb up in the air he looked the same as my stoner friend Jimmy P. I said "There is Jimmy P." Sure as shit, it was Jimmy. Asshole me left Jimmy on the side of the road in Arizona. Saw him 2 weeks later. He had thumbed to LA for a concert!

Any tips for someone riding their first century?

    • @duzer
      @duzer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Keith Boone just keep pedaling Till you hit 100, ha! You wanna be real comfortable on your setup, so make sure the seat is comfy, and it’s all fit to your body...I’d say that most people have problems riding far distances because of a poorly fitting bike that causes injuries.. The physical stuff will work itself out. Work up to 100...you’ll get there!

One question though how do you vlog with your mirrorless camera while vlogging, I mean where you keep it and isn't it too heavy to vlog on the bike?
Love your content man, Highly inspiring!

The biggest problem with small town in Nebraska is many of the kids who grew up on farms, do not want to be farmers, so they leave. Also I-80 when it bypasses alot of small towns, that almost killed them. And believe it or not the great depression and the Dust Bowl era also killed off alot of small towns. Its all pretty sad in the end.

Ryan, my wife and I went on a bike tour in our state of Michigan over this past weekend. We road the Pere Marquette Rail Trail from Clare to Reed city, Michigan. The total distance was 80 miles, but I wanted to get an additional 20 miles in; in order to make it our very first Century ride. Well, my poor wife's feet were going numb throughout our ride and we missed our mark by 4 1/2 miles!
You might be telling yourself; "No way, and I'm telling you, Yes way!"
Did you here me from Boulder screaming; "Nooooooooooo!"
Crapola!!!!!! Man, we were sooooo close to our Century, and believe me, I was trying everything in my power to pull, push and motivate my wife into going the distance! I believe the culprit was my wife's saddle. It was too far down at the rear and too high in the front. That angle put way too much pressure on her bum blood flow.
Thank God I was the mule on this particular trip, or we would still be making our way back to home base!
My poor wife was trashed by time we finished, but we plan on going back to Pere Marquette Rail Trails at the end of October and conquering our very first Century ride!
We will keep our toes and fingers crossed.
Until than; "Ride on my friend, ride on!"
    Sincerely,
    Frado 😀

In the Late 40’s I know a Family that moved from VA to Denver, CO. Because the husband was the work on the first commercial jet plane. They did the letters and cards though the years and came to visit in MD in the late 70’s. They were old school german Americans who saved money very furglely. For first trip back East the husband bought a new car. It had air conditioning as part of the car’s details. The Wife who the Ruler of the House was Pissed that husband spent the money A/C. She verbally mauled the husband for weeks about A/C.
On way to visit they down out of Mountains into Nebraska. It was August. It was 90+ degrees with matching Humidity. As the A/C cooled the car to enjoyable level the Fiery Furgle Wife mellowed into a soft cool marshmallow.
