We bought a home that was 480 sq ft, 2 bedrooms 1 bathrooms. Very small but the layout made it very efficient no wasted space. Loved that little house.
What a nice Condo! So nice to have a In Suite Laundry, extra Closets and a Peninsula. We just moved to a 400 square feet and are incredibly blessed to have In Suite Laundry! 💕🙏
Removing the sliding closet doors and replacing them with curtains or a shade that rolls up would make access to the inside of the closet much more convenient and useful. It is a lovely space.
Thanks so much for documenting these stories. I personally believe everyone benefits from hearing these alternatives ways of living that don't feel too alien to adopt. Stop buying and start living folks!
I watch a lot of the small space tours. They’re helped me see most of us don’t need a big kitchen. I don’t think I ‘ve turned on my oven more than a handful of times in the last decade. I never use more than 2 burners at a time. And most of my cupboards house junk. I could easily go smaller there.
We've enjoyed exploring all kinds of housing types over the years, and in an era when we're seeing both extremely large and extremely tiny living spaces, we think it's interesting to check out a perfectly sized home (apartment/condo) like this one that creates a comfortable living space without going too far in either direction. If you're interested in seeing other small spaces in the city, we have an apartment tour playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLslKBpzJILevVJMNtIPfMq66QdLpFbuTV.html
For such small spaces a portable induction cooktop with two heaters might be better than a built-in one, and a 24” oven instead of 30 (maybe it is 24, can’t tell). An in-building laundry space would be nice for those who don’t mind not having one in their apartment. Washer-dryer is also an option but slower to dry.
Truly you have created a home within an apartment - a challenge to most, but you have succeeded. Apartment is a loose term throughout the world and I am wondering if you own this condo or do you rent? (No, you don't have to answer) but the reason why I ask is that you can hire people to rework your front entrance closet to make it more functional. If you own it I would consider investing in that. Also, I wanted to mention that I love having the laundry at the front door. It really does keep the noise as far away as possible. Stunning place, thank you for sharing with us.
I love all the clever space saving hacks 🥰 Whoever designed this apartment, clearly designed it with a living human being in mind. 😍 Unlike the coffin-esqe apartments in nyc. 😣
Wow, I have a friend that lives in Ontario and this woman lives in Toronto and all the apts seem so cool. I live in a tiny apt in VA and this woman's space is awesome. It's smaller than mine yet she has larger closets and a washer and dryer. I have no washer and dryer I have 4 kitchen cabinets only 2 very small closets no balcony pedestal sink in bathroom. I need to figure out storage as I have a pile very large in my living room and all over my bed I am overwhelmed where I actually cry when I open the door and come home at night from my full time job. I do not have one female friend I can ask to come help me but it's really a one man job also. These videos get me inspired and give me wonderful ideas.. I hope this woman is still there as being content is such a blessing.
wow, that extra 100+ sq.ft. really makes usage planning a LOT easier. and storage space? that's a LOT more than our typical spaces in HK. although it's surprising as usually on these channels they talk about some tiny apartment like this and it's a 12-15" ceiling "studio" apartment. This one has a more normal ceiling.
I've watched your video probably a dozen times ,its my favorite apartment ! I would love to find something similar. Its decorated really great, you made fantastic use of your space .
I generally like the tiny house idea. I could easily take nearly half this space up just with my hobbies though. That's where cozy ends and cramped begins. We're in 900 square feet/82 square meters and we feel the pressure. Thankfully we do have a partial cellar which is not real dry. Only certain items can be stored there. There's also a good sized storage shed which can hold other certain items which can survive relatively mild winters. Fortunately most of our below freezing mornings are confined to late December through late February. Most of that is in the mid twenties. We saw our first Robin on February 2nd this year. I lay the climate out so that readers understand how characteristic weather of an area has an impact on available space. At least we escaped the harsh winters of the northeast U.S. where we had a similar size house. LOTS of possessions didn't make it south with us which made fitting everything else easier.
Some people prefer not to show the balcony bc it might give away the area they are located in. Some people are more cautious of that, especially when they live alone.
A silly thing, but it does work is that given your shower space is so large, you could get an inflatable kiddy pool and use that every now and again as a mini bath - i have used that in a small apartment before - where the shower like yours is long and deep, without sacrificing space.
I realize this was posted almost a year ago, but just a grandma concerned about her laying a towel over her stovetop! It’s so easy to turn those on without realizing it. Fire happens too easily. If it was only done to keep glare from effecting the camera, ignore (Used to floor direct at a TV station). Cute apartment.
Most municipalities require at least 600 sq feet so anything free-standing that is is smaller than that is often considered a “tiny home” but that doesn’t apply to apartments so I’m not sure where the cut off would be for an apartment. There are quite a few complexes where I live with 300ish sq foot apartments so this doesn’t seem so tiny compared to those.
I hate when comment sections of small apartment videos are full of people saying it's not small. Yes there are definitely smaller Apts out there but that doesn't make this one not small. Anything under 600 can be considered small by certain standards, different states and different lifestyles.
A great apartment and you have three closets as well as a washer and dryer. You have fitted in so much without it feeling cluttered, The bathroom does not look small compared to many in Hong Kong ( we lived there for decades and had a large apartment but also stayed in small places in later years). The bedroom looks bigger than 110 sq ft and the whole place is modern and clean looking. One thing that surprised me was that there is no Chinese influence in the decor. 👍👍👍
Im moving from an extremely large house to a tiny apartment like this in Toronto! Thanks for sharing, gives me some inspiration to make the best of my new tiny space
I love that the stove is in the island and the island allows seating on both sides. But with the stove being on the edge…that is very jarring, espcially with it right by the entryway. They should have put it by the wall instead
Very strategic design esp tabletop with electrical cookingware🎉might afraid wallmountedl cabinet abv the basin has possibly knock on d head if the height of the user is higher than the cabinet 😅
Great space saving ideas! I can definitely relate to the challenge of maximizing space in a small area. I just finished transforming my 200 sq ft garage into a tiny house! The bathroom itself is only 4x7 feet, but I feel we created a 'luxury oasis'! I've created a couple videos about my garage transformation process to provide inspiration for small space living!
For a tiny person living in a tiny space, she has tons of stuff! I mean look at her bathroom alone.. behind the mirror cabinets, omg! 😂 but overall the apartment is neat. ❤
Hold on 44m2 is considered small? 😂😂😂 Maybe in Canada, anywhere in Europe that’s a regular sized apartment for an entire family… Edit: just as a comparison I live in a 2bed house in the UK which is 50m2 and it’s plenty space
Thanks for your comment! It's always super interesting to hear what different people consider small :) It seems to vary widely from city to city and country to country (and it also varies if we're talking about condos/apartments vs freestanding homes). A rough guide that we use to label space sizes in our videos is: under 350 square feet = tiny and 350-550 square feet = small. Curious to know what other people would consider small and tiny where they live! Thanks for watching :) :)
I’m in Canada and at one point I had a house that was 900sq’ plus basement and I thought that was pretty small. I now live in a 3000sq’ home plus basement. We are only three people here and for sure this house could be a lot smaller, but we all work from home (son is homeschooled so that’s his “job”) and we literally use every bit of our space! My bedroom is obscenely big though as is my bathroom and closet. This could could easily be a LOT smaller without compromising on efficiency or usefulness.
moving your bed to the opposite wall, your piano where your desk is and the desk where your bed is would make more sense and facilitate total access to your closet.

Love the kitchen and my favorite is the stove location and the fact that they builder made sure to add a stove hood.
