7:00 oops, deletion is not neccessary because of a modification of the existing features. Only if you create additional features or want some to be deleted, it would be neccessary to create a new deformation!!!!! Sorry for the mistake (-; WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT DE DEFORMABLE PART? Have had any problems yet? LET ME KNOW (-; !!!
The problem I have with deformable parts is the issue of changing the part with updates later. Like for example, you need to update the diameter of the spring. If I have "a lot" of deformables in the assembly that come from the same component and I have to make a change to that component part model I lose all the work at the assembly that defined the deformable states. As you showed there doesn't appear to be a clean way to update the part model without having to delete and redo everything at the assembly level for something as simple as a diameter change. That I find to be a huge limitation to using deformable parts in NX. Hopefully, Siemens rethinks the functionality someday in the future. Unless you know a trick around that? If I update the part I find it does not update at the assembly level unless I delete the deform features in the part navigator of the assembly. Thanks!
Hey Corey, parameter mods aren't a problem, but feture exchanges are... There is no solution. But I believe that Siemens might address problems like these. You should report of course😂 otherwise prio will maintain low maybe. Cheers, Simon
The NX1926 has some Part Family enhancements and I am maybe going to make a video concerning this issue. But anyway, creation of reuseable components has so many opportunities, that it will be hard to cover the overall possibilities. We do offer a "Part Family" (Reuse) Webinar, which durates 8 hours. If you can afford it, I'd recommend you to visit such a webinar, especially for business use cases (-; Let me know, what you think
Nice to see some quality content about NX. I'm running into an issue with creating a deformable component. It is a tube with some connectors attached to both ends. I created a composite curve from 2 straight lines (from the curve tab) with a bridge curve. I modelled everything related to that composite curve. When setting up the deformable component I select all the features besides the composite curve. As a reference I would expect that only the composite curve would show up. However it also shows, as what I think are, the sketch origins for the connectors (which are related to the composite curve). I'm struggling with this for about a day now. I tried several things and I kept checking by adding the part to a curve in my assembly, but it never worked. I tried to simplify things and the only thing I managed to deform properly was a basic tube. Do you have some suggestions? Edit after another half day of struggling: fixed! I mentioned that I selected all the features besides the composite curve. This is where I went wrong. I needed to select all features and for the reference I needed to manually add the composite curve. I hope this will help anybody someday ;).
Sorry for late response. I'm glad you have mad it anyway... I would have mentioned to also select the composite curve beside the rest😬 nx will aks for the referenced curve whe assembling the deformable part...
Hi, I guess you have created a relation to the component, instead of the Deformable Part Feature maybe. The answer is maybe too late, but I can just guess without a screenshot etc. Please let me know, how you have solved the problem. Have a nice day (-;
Is there any way to deform a part created with the revolution feature? All its parameters are sketch dimensions and i guess that may be the problem I am facing.
Hi, I'm trying to create an deformable part in NX11 - without success unfortunately. When i tried to deform part in assembly i get an error messages: 1. Message box: "Deform operation cannot complete because features copy has failed" 2. Message box after pressing ok: "Unable to deform due to a failure while copy and paste of a feature from deform definition" Have you any ideas how to fix it?
You should try adjusting values before creation of the deformable part. Also try to copy and paste your feature to make sure those are independent enough. I think there is maybe a dependency not fulfilled after assembling
@@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training ok, my question its why, i want to creat a video showing a spring deforming in a mechanism. You suggest another function for this?

You have, no doubt, the best explanations out there for the various subjects you cover - Well done thank you
Great job!! Keep the videos/training coming, it really is making me understand a lot of issues I have from time to time. Even in other softwares.

Hello, this work is great but I want to know, how can I deform the spring in motion simulation? How can I make spring in motion with other link...?
I don't own a motion license.
Could you post about creating and using reusable components?

Is there any idea how to open nx 1926 prt file in nx10 ?
It's not possible without losing the parametrics. But you can export as parasol I'd and import into the new system.
But i loss my all programs
Any solution?
No

Good morning, can someone help me? I need to create a video using the sequence tool using a deformable part.
I don't think this is possible, because the sequencer does not allow you to control expressions by default.
