Your work is amazing. That was the longest run of a system that you've shared publicly. That was beautiful. Florida is lucky to have you!

Good video. Sounds like all pipes can be “best” depending on the context of the need.
I have a nearly no-slope scenario and learned solid pipe will get me slope easier than flex pipe can, so I’ll be careful with both trench smoothness and my glue joints, thanks.
FDM pipe of any kind isn’t an option for me due to cost but I am considering their pop-ups and clean outs due to the unique designs.

Nice video but I'm confused as you should have a minimum slope that is unacceptable for corrugated installs. In the ADS Drainage Criteria Handbook 4-inch corrugated needs 2.8% slope to self-clean, 6-inch corrugated needs 1.8%, 4 smooth 0.78%, 6 smooth 0.49%...
IMO for low-slope the main line should be smooth-wall & corrugated would be used as the 90 that goes up into the downspout b/c that plastic is flexible & UV resistant. IMO both pipe types could/should be used if we let them battle in cost vs slope-flow. The only fitting for corrugated you would use a lot of is the barb-fitting for attaching it to smooth-wall.

What are you thoughts on the gasketed SDR pvc connectors?

A better option then glued connectors?

@@mikemckay5269 Good stuff, allows for movement between the fitting and pipe but the gasket keeps a water tight seal. They use a lot of that in FL for sanitary mainlines. Fittings and pipe are expensive though.

@@mikemckay5269 Definitely better than glued connections but roots can still get into that system as well.

I appreciate the content man, but PVC with slope > corrugated any day. Corrugated is 100% going to have sediment build-up at some point of its life that causes a blockage. PVC with good slope MAY be blocked at some point. I know you're a big corrugated guy because it's cheaper than PVC, but PVC rules supreme.

@@JP-pk6sc I’ve installed 1000s of feet of PVC pipe and if you have watched our old videos you could say I am also a big SDR35 guy lol. But I have seen both pipes strengths and weaknesses and the conclusion I have come to is that corrugated pipe makes a better yard drain than pvc if it’s installed correctly. Sediment really will build up in both types of pipe over time depending on conditions. And after doing this for awhile now I’m also beginning to think that how much or little rain we get in a season will affect the sediment build up process. For example if one season we get a ton of rain washing through either type of pipe system then it flushes out any sediment effectively but if we get small amounts of rain here and there and it never really storms hard and flushes the system with a huge influx of water then the sediment has a chance to start building up slowly with those small rains on and off. Roof shingle gravel is the biggest culprit I’ve seen for both corrugated and pvc systems when it comes to sediment. That gravel is heavy and likes to sit at the bottom.
