Scopdom Scop - "99"

A late period retrospective of their long-running cable show with a rather novel approach. All that is shown here are the moments when nothing is happening: years of waiting between takes, setting up, standing around, arguing - all interspersed with a generous amount of film leader, countdowns, and random found bits. Not a single highlight is to be found.
The video is bookended with what seems to be an interminable shoot at United Cable studio in 1987, suggesting a sort of timeless purgatory where all failed scenes are stored away, unlogged, unlabelled... All we are left with is the enormity of time it takes to make time.
