For those wondering how to train your betta to do this, in my case, I first got my betta used to biting my finger (I would put my finger in when I fed them, and then /before/ I fed them, so the betta got used to biting my finger to "earn" food) and once they were used to that, I started to raise my finger a little higher each time, until the betta was used to jumping. Once they know how to do that, they will jump at almost anything hovering over the water.

I saw that the video was unlisted
Mine doesn't have practice it just jump just put like betta pellets in your hand put some water in your hand so it stick and start on low level of height and if your betta don't get use to pellets and they want live food well you actually need stick to stick the live food or you hold it with your hand like tubifex worms
I tried a experiment with my betta i grabbed tweezers and put food on it i dipped it in water and moved it around my betta saw it and then i tought he wasnt gonna jump but he coiled back and jumped i got scared i did not expect it

I am having problem with my super hyperactive betta(Sonic) He already jumped out of tank 2 times and almost died No matter even if i keep water level low but still he jumped Lol he is a suicide maniac
Maybe Sonic doesn't like water xD You can use a lid or you can make a lid with mesh like in this video: th-cam.com/video/Ouj85qA-guw/w-d-xo.html Or use floating plants and reduce the water in the tank It's important that you solve that problem because I had a male betta just like Sonic but one time I wasn't there to save him :"c and when I realise, it was too late :'c

@@Skewo193va6i well no, betta fish body isn't built to have the capacity to leap out of water especially the kind that have wide spread tail and they only do so when you give them food or have been trained
Bettas are extremely intelligent (for a fish their size), very food motivated, and excellent jumpers, provided their tail doesn't get in the way of their jump. Try putting some of their favorite food or treat (mysis shrimp were a huge hit with all of my bettas) on the end of a toothpick and dangling it about 1/4 of an inch away from the top of the water. Nine times out of ten they jump for it :)
