  • MP for Chaguanas East, Fazal Karim, is pleased to bring you this tutorial, the first of our Essential Skills series. "Growing at Home - Part 1" is a step-by-step demonstration for the most effective way to plant seedlings in containers at home. At this difficult time, our goal is to teach you how to successfully grow vegetables and green produce for your family's use and hopefully reduce the cost of food for your homes while increasing the nutritional value of the foods you consume. This is also an activity you may involve children in for their own edification and enjoyment.

Good Morning. Good Information. I have five big pots ofpro mix could I use that instead of the manure. I do not want to throw away my pro mix

If its unused promix you could use it. If you planted in it previously you could just use a little manure and fertilizer remix it

How does the break down of the organic matter affect plant growth?
I've been told in the past not to use saw dust/ wood chips as the heat produced from its breakdown can affect plant growth.
