I'm going to tell you what kind of man Roland Martin is. In 1989 Roland didn't make the cut at chickamauga but he stayed and helped out all the children out.bass masters had gave rod and reels to . He could have went home but stayed to help with all them kids and yes he helpedwith my boys thank you Roland.

I often tell people to check out your channel. I tell them that what separates your instructional videos from all of the others on TH-cam is that while demonstrating your techniques, and explaining your methods, you are actually proving them correct by reeling in nice bass. The other guys just babble on and on while rarely catching during instructional videos. Sure this pond is stacked like you said, but you almost always do it. I'll be back Tuesday Sir for more of your Fishing Wisdom. GOD bless you Mr. Martin.

I just found this channel lastnight and i cant be happer about a youtube channel. Roland has been doing exactly what you said since day one. In my opinion Roland is hands down the kind of bass fishing if there ever was a "king" of bass fishing. Who else constantly reminds us that bass have no eye lids so their eyes dont shut and how it effects the way they see and look for things aswell as how the hide in the shade for better vision. Never has any other pro bass fisher ive watch or read articals written by them explained something as untalked about or as important for catching the bass we all want so bad. I will recommend this channel to every bass fisher no matter the age or skill set. There is allways something to learn from someone with as much time on the water as him. Thanks Roland.

I quit fishing for about 6 yrs prior to 2016. I swear to you that senko green pumpkin changed my life. I couldn't believe how well that worm does. It rejuvenated my passion for fishing and I go fishing now every chance I get and lately it's been every day. Ponds, lakes, river shoals, creeks I scout for new post and love hunting for that honey hole. Carry 5 rods and a machete and I blaze a trail to the hole.

I dont own a boat so almost all my fishing is done off banks. This info is priceless. He keeps what he's explaining just short enough not to draw it out and the way he explains his reasons for a technique is in a simple enough way that its even clear for even a kid to understand. I was 10 years old when i first saw Roland pitching a jig in some thick grass and pull out a nice large mouth. Later that day i walked over a mile through the woods to a lady named mrs. ferrys pond and i did what i saw roland do and followed what he said and that day i cought my first bass in thick brush/vegetation. Thanks Roland.

I've had a heck if a year with a swimbait...unlike anything I've ever seen... but I also need to get back to the basics. A plastic worm and a hook and split shot started me off decades ago. Roland, I wish you would actually find a non windy place and discuss what we are going to see you do when you go fishing. That would be a big help since no one has figured they should buy a wind screen for the camera’s microphone. This is what happens when older people than myself (I’m 58) decide to get into technology without proper guidance. However, I think what you could best show all of us is how to fish as you fished back in the mid 1970s or perhaps at the first Bassmaster Tournament? Seeing all the new tech is on everyone’s channel since they have little to no clue how to fish a new lake, river, or pond without their $5,000.00 Hummingbird with Side Imaging. I appreciate you fishing from the bank, those videos are far better than most of your bass boat videos. Yet, in this video you could have told us Who Gary Yamamoto was before he put his name on Senko style plastic worms? You could have told us that Creme brand was the FIRST plastic worm sold through mail order or at fishing conventions back in the late 1940s. You could teach us how to breakdown and figure out the best spots to pick from a boat or from the bank WITHOUT ANY TECH. You did it and became a well known name to any angler looking to fish and especially for Bass. It saddens me to watch you try and act like all those other channels done by guys half your age or younger who only know one way to fish and all the gear they’ve never had to be without. Personally as someone not young anymore and old enough to know when Japan entered American fishing and took over. Perhaps you could tell us how in the world the Japanese became such experts on American bass fishing and why they nearly killed off the American standards such as Penn, Shakespeare, Zebco, and so on. I remember how much better Shimano and Diawa rod and reels were back in the 1970s and how cheap as well. Melos was a spinner bait of choice for Trout fisherman like myself growing up in NJ, then all this ‘new’ stuff started showing up and while I was out making a living doing things other than fishing on a Party Boat in the summer months from running out of Belmar NJ, to standing in chest waders freezing my man parts off trying to catch some big Shad during their run up to spawn, then on the way back a couple months later on their way back to the ocean at the end of the a Delaware River and we used to fish where I80 crosses from NJ into PA in a town only fishermen know the name of, and of course every year in April was the beginning of a trout season. As you see from some of my own recollections I’ve touched on things I was just a bystander in while you were right there in the thick of it all and using new gear as it was brought into the USA. I would seriously like to know when American fishermen rolled over and let the Japanese tell us in their own way how we were doing things wrong or how we could do them better. I know that time frame was the end of American dominance in the world economy. So how about sharing some these things most of us do not know and how things were then and how they have either changed or remained the same over the past 50 years? Doesn’t anyone besides myself think THIS would make for some wonderful and informative videos from a champion who was there when all this began to happen? I’ll wait and see if any videos show up and that will tell me what Roland thinks of my ideas and suggestions.

I’d enjoy doing a video like that too if I was catching that nice of bass one right after the other lol. I think it’s because he’s Roland Martin. I use the green pumpkin senko and rig it many different ways. It does catch fish when nothing else is working. I like it wacky style with a nail weight in the head

I love the bank fishing videos ! Except for a week or two out of the year my primary approach is bank fishing ... so, what you have to say is of great interest to me. Does your approach change as water temps fluctuate? It is still cold in NY and fishing thus far has been difficult. Hey, thanks for putting out quality videos!! I get a little weary of some of the younger you tuber videos that are full of noise, hijinks and herky-jerky camera angles. Thanks for keeping things informative, interesting and RELAXING!

I’m pretty sure you could spit on a hook and catch fish out of that loaded pond lol. At least he acknowledges it and it’s great for instructional purposes because nothing worse than trying to show someone how to fish a certain way and getting skunked because your at a high pressure lake

I can attest to the pressure we have in Chicago. Public ponds get hammered. Just the other day nothing worked. Out comes the senko and it saved me from the skunk. I wasn't using 297 but 229. Look up the color. It works too.
