Take a car. The system is powered by the stupid ass gas combustion right? Remove the combustion of the engine to spin the alt and use magnets and its the same exact thing. Magnets spin alternator tied to a power bank if need be I'd assume, and again. The extra is what's usable and the principal keeps the system going.

The Lorentz force, what provides the electromotive force that turns the motor, happens at a right angle to the electromagnetic field. It’s not a 100% efficient process. Meaning, the electromotive force can never produce enough energy to turn the motor. An external energy source is required.

Let's see we got an alternator and an ac motor. Tbh I thought up these ideas as a kid, a motor to spin a generator to power itself, or a light bulb that was powering itself by solar cells. This is before I learned about efficiencies and losses, both mechanical from friction and electrical resistance. Fun thought experiments as a kid and good learning experiences.

My neighbor who is an american airlines pilot decided to build one of these. The modifications to that alternator costs about 1500 dollars if you cant do it yourself and trust me you cant. And on top of that once you hit the drill you expell all the energy and everything stops.

If this was the case, the machine would either build up speed until the centrifugal force rips it apart, or a mechanism in place would limit its speed, generating immense heat, destroying it in the process.
This is not the case because this machine is moved by a motor, and the frequency of the alternating current that powers it does not rise more than 50Hz, therefore the motor cannot accelerate any higher.
