Out of all the things in this game, one of the sounds that bothers me the most is the chimes of the grandfather clock. Now don't get me wrong, old clocks (especially grandfather clocks) are fantastic, but their chimes have always unnerved me (again, especially grandfather clocks). It's been this way ever since I was a child. They always take me by surprise, and if they bother me in the daytime, I'd certainly never want to hear one at night, like in this game.
Honestly, I feel the same way. The grandfather clocks may look elegant, but damn, they're LOUD.

Agreed, and paired with the ambience track that plays during the night on loop it’s very effective at setting the scene
I remember I had to hear this clock go off in the middle of the night at my grandparents house, and nobody else was awake when it went off, so I was very scared of it. Especially since fnaf was my first introduction to the grandfather clock, so I obviously was hallucinating some nightmare animatronics in the dark whenever I heard the chimes.

My grandma has a grandfather clock which sounds exactly like the “chimes” noise. It always creeped me out when I was younger and hearing it now sent a chill through me
I just realized there's only 11 chimes after the first 2 play the "6 a.m." theme from the other games.

It’s quite interesting knowing that the high-pitched buzzing noise that plays whenever you shine your flashlight at Nightmare Fredbear or Nightmare is likely the noise of the illusion sound discs.
It really makes you wonder what things Scott Cawthon had planned out from the beginning, and what things he came up with along the way.
But why it's isn't working for others Nightmares?
Also, I think that this theory still holds, if we remember that Nightmare is actually Shadow Freddy and it's highly possible that we playing as Michael Afton in his nightmares during FNAF1
So, Shadow Freddy is agony of Crying child and, if map in SL isn't just easter egg, it's possible that Crying child have experience close to the game - William Afton tortured his own son with illusion disks to get remnant and this memory transferred into Michael's nightmare

I just wanna take a moment to realize how terrifying night 5 really is, since before the nightmares where all of the animatronics and where irrational fears of them, but after fredbears bite on Evan, all of his nightmares are just fredbear. Night 5 is literally experiencing the physical form of a dying childs most feared entity

The start is the fnaf 3 sound distorted slightly, then 2 roar noises, the second one at a slightly higher pitch, and then the little kid screaming is actually the end of the fnaf 1 scream. The plushtrap/ cupcake scream is similar, the beggining is the same and the kid scream is just a sped up version, but I'm not sure if the main roar is the same sound or not.

The dog barking really brought a new layer of life to the world around you, it shows that things inside the house are also influencing things outside.
I see it as kind of the opposite, like the outside world goes on as normal with no clue about what’s going on in the house. The dog barking shows how close you are to other people, yet it’s just distant enough that you know it won’t notice the horror being faced. It’s a very lonely feeling

@@humanity_moment. If it would make such noises, it would laugh like Freddy does in FNaF 1, but we do not even know if that was supposed to be a feature of the animatronic or if it is a haunting. If Freddy can laugh because of a feature, then Freddbear would also laugh, which is probably true, because of this cry: this crying is probably what the crying kid thought the laughter was, which is why he hears it. So basicaly, yes Freddy can laugh, because Freddbear can and he can because the crying child has nightmares in which the laughter is disorted into weeping..
