Back in 2017 I sent a DM to Groggs expressing my gratitude for his music, he responded wishing me a happy thanksgiving… I told him i’m from the UK and we don’t celebrate that here, he said if they ever did a world tour he would make sure I get in to the show.
3ish years later they actually go on a world tour and he even came to my city, I missed it because i was busy but i would do anything to go back, cancel my plans and see him live :(
Saw them live in NZ and they stood outside after the show taking pictures until everyone that wanted one got one. Humble legends

This album is coming out after the passing of my friend, one who actually introduced me to their music. It could not be more on the nose and after watching this and listening to it I just can’t fathom the emotions it conveys so well.

The show must go on
When the self titled record dropped, I sent out a tweet saying that Injury Reserve truly represented music that pushes the boundaries and forefront of music today or something to that extent. Groggs responded in a PM saying that he really appreciated the support and I responded to the message with an image I took from the Arena Tour with JPEGMAFIA. He messaged me again and remembered me being there and talking to them and that night. I always remembered that and thought it was super fucking dope. I'm glad they are releasing another record and I'll always hold this group in such a high regard personally and musically. Rip Groggs.
Wow. It's amazing when an artist is truly loving of there fans. If I get a following for my music, I wish I could be as supportive to the people who take time to listen to me as Groggs did.

My biggest regret is missing out on their Oakland show in March 2020, right before shit hit the fan. Still grateful to have seen them once, they put on an incredible performance that I’ll never forget

It's so surreal seeing Parker and Richie without Groggs here. My heart stings, but I'm really excited for this new album. This was a great interview, Rest In Power to Groggs.
I appreciate interviews like this over anything else TND has done.
I can't even imagine what these guys have gone through in the last year, can't express enough love for Injury reserve. Ever since 2017 they've been my favourite group, everytime i recommend them i get shocked props - the music's just that great.
i remember i bought 5 tickets to see them in Leeds late 2019, and all 4 of my friends dropped out to come see them - hell, i was debating calling it off myself, but nah i thought fck it, i'll do the difficult thing n go on my own. Looking back now, i don't think i could forgive myself if i hadn't. fkn phenomenal show & insanely grateful & great guys on and off stage from what i got to see. They took pictures and chatted w *every single* fan there, i remember Groggs fucked w me a little bit "you don't get no love man" before dapping me up. Funny dude fr, rest in power.
The moment flashed by & i was legitimately star struck and no doubt embarassed myself, i even gave Ritchie my iridescent MF DOOM ring off my hand just to say thankyou for everything.
Jockstrap were unreal setting the scene for the show too.

I saw them live in late 2019 and got a picture with them and Groggs put his arm around me, they even all signed my shirt of their self titled album, great guys, Rest In Peace to the late great Groggs
They’re friends with BC,NR and Morgan Simpson of Black Midi helped with production on some tracks. They’re linked with two of my favorite bands right now. Love it 😊

So frustrating sometimes to hear a group you like, came to your home city before you discovered them, and knowing the landscape for touring musicians in a Covid ridden world is gonna make it that much longer until it happens again. Also nobody ever fucking comes to Christchurch, New Zealand, especially since we were ravaged by earthquakes a decade ago now. So props to you guys for coming here, even if I never knew I wanted to be there at the time haha.
I saw them in Wellington the night after and it was incredible, one of the best nights of my life. Super gutted they aren't coming back to tour the new record because I'm sure that will be incredible live. Feeling hopeful that because Aotearoa had an impact on the creation of the album they'll make an effort to come over when possible

I was going through a rough time financially and mentally in 2019 which stopped me from seeing IR live, and I still regret that after Grogg’s passing. Booked their 2022 London show as soon as the tickets became available- I can’t believe it’s actually happening

@@AlmightyNata Basically, injury reserve got their major kickstart in the industry because of fantano's positive review of their first project. Now around the same time, Fader released an article which basically like shitting on thatistheplan and claiming that the channel's content was inappropriate and misinterpreting a lot of videos' meanings. Corey, the member of injury reserve on the left in this video, distanced himself from and denounced Fantano, even though his review essentially made Corey who he is today and even after the article clearly painted Fantano in a bad light purposefully.
I was curious about the same thing. Had the same thought as soon as the interview started seeing him being in the interview since I assume that was the reason the last Fantano x IR interview had only Ritchie being interviewed (I assumed because of the distancing from fantano) and I just keep wondering if this means that he regrets posting about that since he is clearly okay with being involved with Fantano again. Either way, I'm glad to see more than just Ritchie in the interview.
@@nottinghamreds yeah, but anthony is the one who should take objection to parkers comments, and he isn't. parker is probably embarassad but if anthony doesnt care, then no one should. fantano didnt do anything wrong and parker was just scared he'd be forever associated with a person like what anthony was depicted as on the aritcle

I was kinda waiting this interview to be more awkward, especially with Parker Corey. Because when the Fader released that hit piece on Fantano, I remember Parker going wild on him on twitter, probably the most active I ever saw him on twitter.
