Hello, I'm coming at yah from Toronto, Ontario.... Here's a tip for doing a pull-start, (yes a 120psi) Leave the trailer hooked up (need the weight on the drives of the tractor), sixth gear, key on...And pull, In the Towing business, we call this a dead-pull, it'll start with in the first couple of feet, and if it's freezing out, give'r a shoot of ether. I'm a CaseIH fan, ..only because my son-in-law is a big shot for them here in Ontario, LOL. "KEEP IT BETWEEN THE ROWS"..... As a Heavy Wrecker Operator, we say.." SEE YOU IN THE DITCH"
It's amazing how fast the weather can change in the Midwest! Thought for sure you guys were gonna have to plant late, glad to see everything starting to move and good luck this planting season!
It is amazing to see how much work actually goes into planting food and your videos give the public more respect for the farmers like you that put in all the work and gives people a better point of view
The weather changed so fast this year. Normally once it starts melting it's at least still froze in the mornings to bring stuff to the yard. didn't happen this year. Once it started melting, it never quit. About 4 hours north of you near Pembina, ND
You should stick a air quick connect fitting on the tank with a 1/4 turn valve. That way you air up the truck before you start it cold and can back outside to warm up instead of waiting to build up air. And it lets you drain the water quickly as well.
Exactly what I was going to write! I traditionally have put a female air quick connect chuck on the truck tank for hooking up air tools, tire inflators, etc, but now that I am at a shop where we have air compressors on the service trucks and in the shop, I do the male fitting and a valve instead, very useful for draining the tank, or filling it up, and then I keep a female to female adaptor to be able to plug a hose in.
Great video. Excitement builds for planting. You children are all so pretty and handsome. You are a good Dad taking care of them the way you do. They all look so well behaved and happy.
Hey zack. Replace that shreader valve with a quarter turn ball valve and Air fitting. Then you’ll have a easier more reliable anti smoke valve. I know it don’t smoke but that’s what they call them if you are curious.
Awesome vid Zack and Becky! Love it when the kids feature in the videos, the way you are with them is just awesome! Best of luck to you all for planting ‘23!
I still love watching Zach and his dad working together. Next best thing is to see Onyx out there. He’s the next gen, and he is fully on board with his dad and grandpa.
I admire a man who knows how to properly take care of his children!! I would have cared for their nutritional needs the same dang way!! (mine too) And I know they also appreciate you concern also!! And as the years go by, they will appreciate it even more.
Being that I am so far away in Pennsylvania from you folks, I had not heard about this tragic loss of Deputy Owen. I pray for his family and his friends for comfort at this time of loss.
The machine at 10:27, was built here in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It's a Tennant 6500. One of the best machines Tennant built. Have worked for the company for 26 years.
I am currently taking classes to get my CDL and that beeping when trying to do the brake and air leaks test drives me up the walls and makes it hard to focus to recall everything I need to recall for the tests.
It's why I add in a nice little toggle switch on beepers and car alarms to shut them the heck up if I know there's an issue and am working on it to fix it.
I once cut the cable to the beeper of a golf cart. After that the car refused to drive. I guess some "smart" controller checks, if it is still operational. A switch solved that issue, but you have to remember to close the switch, every time you turn the cart on. Probably a resistor would work, but I didn't try. Maybe an issue, you'll run into in the future. Personally I do not dislike safety features in general. But sometimes they are a bit too restrictive and depending on the risk, I prefer, when a Maschine just throughs a warning at me in case of a malfunction instead of stop working. I guess the back up beeper of a golf gart is not that important, that you shouldn't be able to drive without it.
Buddy use to pick his kids up from school in one of his tow trucks whatever works least they where not forgotten DQ looks tasty stay safe here in the PNW guys have been busy prepping and planting Cow corn and cutting grass for feed.
I have never seen a Schrader valve on a tank like that, it should be a ball valve and an air hose style quick connect! Rapid tank drain, fill it up easily, make life nice for the tow truck guy, and with a female to female adapter, hook an air hose off the truck air system for tire filling, impact wrench, or blow guns etc.
@@edhilton yes , i make a mistake i understand the wheat is in the ground and i think is winter weath . do to the winter kill i think it's dificult to make winter wheat in minesota ....
Ditch that Schrader valve and install a female quick connector like the one on your air hose. Make a double male piece and you get full air volume from compressor air line and don't have to hold it. When you pull a tractor with no frame hooks, go to the spring hanger. Crazy strong attachment point.
Hi Zack your Dad is Cool and it looks like it's VERY WINDY there . Yes it's a pain in the butt to get under a Semi Truck to work on it... You guys are the coolest farm and the BEST
Zach, when you get your new silos in, make sure you get a third party in that specializes in weld inspection, and go over them with a fine tooth comb, to ensure and certify the welds are solid. If they are not, then it's going to be a mess to get them repaired or an even bigger mess in litigation.
You can also pull another truck up, hook the red air lines on both rigs together and push in the red (trailer) valve and transfer air between trucks that way. As for pull starting, get a set of recovery hooks and use 2nd or 3rd gear. There should be a couple of square holes in the bumper where you can insert the recovery hooks and use that as your anchor point.
Zach a 3/8 ball valve and a male quick connect for an air hose installed in the tank makes that job way easier, also makes draining the tank way easier. I work at a concrete company and all of our trucks have one so they don't smoke the mechanics out of the shop building air pressure.
I just set up a new window display for our local historical society, on spring planting. Trivia for you all. A 2 horse hitch, pulling a 2 bottom plow could plow 2 acres a day. I think that new cultivator could do that in 2 minutes.
You should ask them for caging bolts that way in the event of an issue and can't get air to it, cage bolts allows you to release parking brake manually
My wife and I stayed overnight in Alex. I pointed ASP to her as we drove past and told her about you planting wheat there. She was surprised as you never hear of wheat being planted anymore around here. If we had more time I would have been tempted to go after the Geocache that is hidden in the park.
Always a great day when you get a notification from him
That’s so true
and sad when the FBN logo comes along….😢
@@AndreFTSG FBN supports farmers and this channel.
@@MillennialFarmer I think he meant THE FBN logo signals the end of the video...book ending the notification comment of the OP.
@@TheyROutThere that is correct 😂😂 nothing to do with FBN...
"I can hear you can you hear me?"
"Nope"
That is gold. I thought I was the only one who did that.
That's the normal response at my house.
that was subtle and funny as hell
i do that too
Not sure why I laughed so hard at that.
"Are you awake yet?"
"Nope."
Trim the bumper for the pull hook hole. 4:03
Thank you for mentioning Deputy Josh. Owen and I am a good friend of his father. What a shame what a tragedy he was a great kid and fine Deputy
I’ve got a bad server in my office and it sounds like my office is on life support!

A proper up bringing!!! Don't ever let it slip away!!! Absolutely beautiful!!
That family SNAP was super cute , made me giggle
I was excited to do that!

Zach, Becky, loved this video! Nice work, as always. Blessings on your spring!

Talking about FBN. I've been hauling a few loads of chemical for them. Just delivered a load out to Cleveland ND this morning.
Great to see the snow has nearly gone . That wind is harsh.
It's not as bad as the wind that was in Southern Illinois last week
You guys are awesome - hope all is well with you and your family!

You should always leave the landing legs about 2-3” of the ground, when dropping the trailer.
I always just crank mine down till they touch then go two turns back up. Perfect every single time

Trucker tip. Use another truck hook both red lines together hold red button in on truck taking air. Or air hose with glad hand same thing 🤷🏻♂️
Best of health and happiness this planting season everyone.
