- In Honour of Jamaica’s Heritage Week and Heroes Day which just past, this video was created as my reflection on our heroes sacrifice and re-dedication to our responsibilities we all have as citizens of Jamaica. We all made a pledge, we said the words, and some of us probably sang the song. This video serves as a reminder and message to everyone. Somehow it seems like many of us have forgotten that pledge we made.
If you are like me… a Jamaican raised on this land .
Let us honour our heroes so that they would not have sacrificed so much in vain….. I hope this video can make a difference to even one soul. If it does, it would all be worth it.

This video is 1 and half years in the making to accumulate the visuals you see here. It was shot completely in 4K and the cost to produce this video is higher than I am willing to state. .

I have been away from Jamaica, the land of my birth & early years. As I approach my golden years, I reminisce on those fantastic & beautiful memories. Alas, it will have to be just that. I yearn to visit before I can no longer make the trek. But friends say that Jamaica of my youth is now fictitious. I am sorrowful to learn of the untold killings. My heart is sad & heavy. I have these reccuring reverie that my compatriots will become proud & ethical citizens.

I’m a teacher who took on the calling for the sake of making a difference and helping our children lately I’ve felt as if it makes no sense but you’ve spoken to the little girl in my who meant every word of the pledge. I love Jamaica and I’m committed to my island of love. It’s not always beautiful here but it’s always worth it. Jamaica you are home.

Thank you for this, this song/pledge always brings such pride and tears of joy to my eyes. It seems no one born after the 80s knows it. I heard the soundtrack in 'Bluey' while watching with my kids this morning and rushed to share the original with them. I appreciate what you have created and reminded us of.
