Thank you! Their "mistake" of the Ecamm video output was actually a solution I was looking for.
The thing is that you get way better quality if you use the Atem Mini Pro directly as your streaming device. We use a combination of the Atem Mini and the Atem Mini Pro to have 7 Inputs in total. We run 3 Cameras directly into the Pro and the output from the Mini to the Pro. Then we have ProPresenter 7 run into the Mini with one Full picture and a seperate Key source. To make things easier to switch we use the streamdeck and companion. This is a great setup + you do not need any software encoding at all and just a cheap computer to control the things. We have a very similar setup. ATEM Mini Pro with 3 cameras sending via USB into a PC running OBS Studio (and using the multiview to pick between cameras). I have a few scenes setup from our Pre & Post Service and our Church News videos (as Pro7 doesn't do audio over NDI). Then we have our Pro7 PC send a single NDI output to OBS for all our lyrics, bible verses and other graphics. So far it works, but I'm still tweaking to get the right flow.
We actually use a similar setup, but we have Propresenter 7 syphoning and a USB matrix mix from our Presonus console running audio into Ecamm , so it's all done on a single iMac. It's not a spectacularly setup machine either. 6 core, 8gb of ram, and it's worked flawlessly. It was a 2019 refurb, so only about $1300 or $1400. We just have an ATEM Mini, not Pro. I tried running the audio through the ATEM Mini, but it seemed unnecessary to do one more digital to analog to digital conversion, so I just switched back to keeping it in the computer. One of the benefits of using syphon is that audio runs to Ecamm with video.
Hi Jake, question about the audio that wasn't really explained here, when I run it trough my ATEM mini, does Ecamm Live automatically recognize the audio in the usb output? or is there more steps to it? I'd appreciate your answer. Thanks

For the text of the lower third there is also a Scale down to fit the box & it doesn’t have to be 2 lines
Jake I believe to simplify it you can have propresenter 7 have an action to change the looks when it hits a slide and then it will not alpha key out the slide but show it full screen.
Actually yes it can be setup that way and then you have an action to change it back. :-) Probably best to not send out too many NDI outputs since the computer is having to process all of those as well.

Dear Jake, we too use the ATEM Mini (not pro but the standard) and Ecamm, and iPhones. Question: do you know how to eliminate the black frame that surrounds the video-feed, please? It only appeared when we started using the ATEM Mini.
Tried for months to get an ATEM Mini but going to do the switching in software now.
Thanks Jake for sharing the coaching call session. Just a quick question, would this be the same with an ATEM TVHD Switcher rather than the Mini Pro? Also, I am assuming an upgrade to PP7 is a necessity as well - we are still using PP6.
While the TVHD has more video inputs, it doesn't function as a video capture device like the mini. You'd have to get a separate one like the mini recorder. And yeah, upgrading to PP7 is key.

So do we run Ecamm Live / ProPresenter 7 / and Vmix all on the same machine? I was under the impression the camera switcher would use an ipad? We are upgrading to multiple cameras in a couple weeks, so any advice our church could have would be great!
i want to appreciate you for the great work you are doing Mr. Jake. We are using a mixed bus out for our live stream audio. I saw a video from you talking about using a DAW to do the mix, but that video was for those who will record and post later. Can the DAW be used live? what are the Softwares needed for it to work?
Hi Jake been following your videos for some time now. I wonder instead of ProPresenter how would this work with EasyWorship with the NDI setup with the ATEM Pro? My mixer is analogue.
They could use 2 atem for more inputs and an appletv for ndi.

I was thinking of routing a seperate hdmi output from pro presenter to the atem mini pro, and using chroma keying to display the white lower third lyrics.
Do anyone have experience with this method?
We do that exact thing at our church. It works really well. We also found that if you are running any video from pro presenter it works better than the NDI connection.

Live From The Fridge Pre-ordered it from Adorama. Took about a month to get it.
30:30 I had an issue where I wanted to transition my pre-recorded videos that we play during the service (welcome video and a sermon bumper video) from playing directly through OBS to playing through ProPresenter 7 for the sake of being able to show them on in-house projectors as our church goes back to in-person gatherings. Audio was the issue, but I setup a Soundflower virtual audio driver which created a bridge to send audio from PP7 to OBS, which could then output from the iMac to our mixer. I couldn't find any other way to get videos (with audio) to play to both the live stream (via OBS) and to in-house projectors. Playing the videos through eCamm as you suggested might be nice, but you lose in-house viewing which is something we need. There must be a better way. I don't like my workaround. Although it works, I lose a lot of audio quality with my setup.
Are you running ProPresenter on the same computer as OBS?
We did our first livestream last week and we had:
- One computer output to in-house projectors and running Easy Worship. Then NDI out to second computer.
- Second computer running OBS for livestream, NDI in from Easy Worship for lyrics/verses/videos.
Now what I did was run another OBS on the computer running Easy Worship. NDI in to OBS and set OBS out to monitor to the in house projectors. So anything shown on Easy Worship will be seen on the livestream AND in house. Audio from Easy Worship computer was run into the mixer, mixer is then outputting to in house as well as the 2nd computer running OBS.
Not sure if this make sense to you? Basically Videos with sound, play that on ProPresenter so that in house can see it and hear it, and NDI out to OBS so that livestream can hear and see it to. Also PP NDI to OBS should have sound without routing to mixer and into OBS.
Can you still use Dante to route audio with the ATEM mini?
We are using Dante in to Logic Pro with a custom template that we mix with and then sending the output from that Logic session to ATEM mini.
