Right off I take exception to your claims... almost ALL streamed series end too soon now with 8 and now 6 episodes becoming normal runs. I'm old enough to remember real television and 3 networks when a series was half a year - 22 episodes stretched over 22 or longer weeks. Anyone who didn't experience that has no clue how significantly less substance there is in today's "series'" - it allows crap to get aired and limits the potential of really good shows (as does the ability to binge that entire "season" in a weekend) - the level of investment by audiences can be minimal and the time lag between seasons is enough for most people to lose interest - it's all becoming filler, even the good stuff. That said... your coverage of Dune P. is excellent 🙂

Frankly, it seems like bad business to spend perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars on 6 episodes. Furthermore, we will be lucky to see a season 2 by late 2026. That's seems to be the pattern with much of the sci-fi coming out; a short 6 - 10 episodes, and then 2 years in between seasons.
I see no one talking about this but what if Desmond is a Prophet of Leto atreidis II (maybe he met the blue eyes somehow). the baby worms do carry memories of the past, why not of the future too since they eventually create spice.I mean the goal is the same to show that humanity should not be controlled by anything or anyone.
Desmond is Vorian probably. They mentioned him in every episode yet and it would be strange to not show him. I doubt they will introduce a new character, so the only possible option is Desmond Hart. He also would be the only one alive to remember how dangerous thinking maschines are. I think when they analyze the blood and see the result, this will be the big wow moment of the series. In restrospetive so much of the previous episodes would make more sense and it would make them better. The foreshadowing is definitly there.
Desmond left the blood on purpose and maybe poison the AI that the sisterhood have in hiding. Or just maybe the AI is what is the big bad in the end, with Desmond fighting AI, it may very well be true. Also the shield would 100% protect from that blast.
the AI (most likely Erasmus) is behind all chess pieces maneuvering against eachother. The BG, the DH ghola, the face dancer, the Ixians, and the Tleilaxu.
