Six levels in barb would allow you to take Stallion animal aspect as well. Stallion gives bonus HP = 2x barb level when you dash. Seeing how you dash constantly, that could be another way to get the HP "regen" of dragoon. Nice vid all the same.
Makes sense they die alot. I too would just die if someone told me "Hey you see that dragon over there, I need you to jump 100 feet into the air and poke it with a stick."
Welcome back to the "Hobo gets a build DONE via obscure and odd equipment no one ever talks about really" Todays episode, he finally embraces the Fleetfingers to air assassinate a poor Fist!
Glad to see more final fantasy builds, as well as any vidya references. I'm a fan of the older FF games myself, and there's one potential build idea from there that you may find interesting: The Holy Knight from Final Fantasy Tactics, Agrias Oaks' iconic class. Roughly, their shtick was being a Tank/Mage, using heavy armor and big swords to channel AoE attacks. These attacks were relatively small in area, with solid damage and occasional status penalties like Silence, Confuse and Stop. The blasts also had the same properties like damage type as their equipped sword, but that isn't really a thing in BG3. The overall vibe is being a tank with tactical evocation to deliver damage and disabling malus across the battlefield, assisted by tank gear based spellcasting synergy. Likely more caster-y than a simple pure pally or EK, but you'd almost certainly want to include one of those. But that's hardly unique in your builds, so the best use case I see here? Using the character and class as an excuse to make a Divine Soul or Celestial Warlock based tanky pally gish. Also, throwing Agrias Oaks on your video thumbnail never hurt anyone.
I would suggest making a swords bard 10/ paladin two. You get heavy armor, and are able to do AOE swing attacks with melee weapons. You can do aoe debuff effects with things like hypnotic pattern and command if you grab the mystic scoundrel ring
@@Revvry Good points. My only issue is that the theming is a bit off, like with Bardic Inspiration for instance. I suppose any build will give you unnecessary options, though. Also, the AoE attacks I mentioned aren't that kind of melee, they're "sword themed" in the manner of paralyzing blades falling from the sky to smash your enemies heads in a 10 ft radius from 30 ft away. Again, extra features can't be helped and don't really hurt, but also doesn't serve the purpose in this case. Not that a perfect fit is going to happen in any case (their "spells" are Str based, after all!) but the one line I'd draw is they should only use attacks that deal damage. That's why I mentioned synergy with gear: BG3 has some good options for adding conditions to weapon and spell damage. A Holy Knight applying a debuff is just a little bonus while they beat a monsters shit in.
I forgot the name of it, but there’s a hammer in act 1 that causes a thunder shockwave where you land after a jump. Could be a fun combo, just gotta be aware of teammates
Love this sense I am a FF fan and Dragoon was my starting class in FF14 until I could unlock the Samurai class. Still love the class because of the tie it has to dragons too, keep up the good work man. Looking forward to other Final Fantasy builds in the future.
woooo wanted your take on this for ages! Iv done a paladin/eagle barb variant of this build which was fun, divine strike procs on diving strike lol also tried a similar build to this with the impaler pike (only accessible with mods)
Preparing for my next bg3 run using your first origin character builds, I had an entire google doc writing down all the details and where to find all the magic items, took me like 2 hours lol
This would work best in a solo run, so you don't have to manually catch up the rest of your party every time you jump someplace pathfinding can't get them to.
Personally, not a fan of dragonborn, and in bg3 at least, they kinda suck. Admittedly, the final fantasy game I always think of is ff14, but some kind of elf/half-elf is probably best in my opinion. In 14, dragoons are from ishgard, which is mostly populated by elezen (the elves of 14's world). Not to mention the main dragoon NPC rep is an elezen as well. I'd probably go with high-elf as the default or wood-elf or a half-elf if you want to go for a slightly stronger pick for the build.
I enjoy your videos more when you take your time and when you really enjoy your concept. Some videos like this one stress me out because you talk super fast and seems really stressed too.
@HoboZone I meant that sometimes you're relax, having fun and other times, you're speeding through the video. Maybe you don't have much time out enjoying some concepts. Lol. Feel free to ignore my comments if you disagree ;-)

I laughed so dang hard at this comment
It's funny, my friends and I all play DPS jobs in FFXIV; Red Mage, Dragoon, and Black Mage. This build has put the final piece into place.
**This is now the Dragonborn Space Program. Strap in cause we're going to the moon** I laughed way harder at that than i probably should have. XD

I feel not standing in the red circle is just good life advice
Not necessarily. Watch Dandadan. It might be the only thing keeping you alive. Y'know, if you ever get possessed.

Just finished my first playthrough with your fist of talos yesterday night, I’d like to humbly request a remaster of that build, thanks mate
Love it! Nice to see a vanilla build again.

You have now become PogoZone.

Nice to see Champion getting some love!

Yeah it can get a bit crazy lol
Only Final Fantasy games I've played with a dragoon in them were tactics and ff9....but I loved the one I had in tactics and Freya was a beast!
So hyped for some FF builds! Been playing FFXII recently :)
Ketheric, Orin, and Gortash gonna get JUMPED.
I can just picture the middle of their cutscenes.
"Do you hear that?"
Would love to see an Agrias Oaks build! (FFT)
You should definitely try making an Escanor build, from Seven Deadly Sins. Bonus points if the video comes out at noon in your timezone.
If you take build requests, could you perhaps do The Swordmaster from Fire Emblem, or a build based on say, Artoria Pendragon from Fate?
While I'm familiar with FATE, can you elaborate more on the Swordmaster?
@HoboZone Basically a lot of countering, quick criticals, a light use of magic, using well, swords
If you'd like to, maybe some Arcane builds? I'm attempting to build Caitlyn right now and am kinda stuck... I'm thinking Paladin archer?
This would work best in a solo run, so you don't have to manually catch up the rest of your party every time you jump someplace pathfinding can't get them to.
With the colour of the dragonborn I though you did a Purple Dragon Knight at first
I would really appreciate if you would do a Dexter Morgan the blood spatter analyst build
oh heck yeah more ff builds!
Fiend Warlock would add some lifedrain
*Alternatively known as jumpman
Nah that was the old Mario build
You know all i was thinking during this video was ... can he reach the top of Felogyr's Fireworks from the floor in one jump? i need to know hahaha
Nice build, their called “Lance” btw
Imagine having gale cast long jumper on this tav 💀
That's what the ring does
Hobo im am now mad there is a cantrip in mystra spell pack that is literally lancet
man
Why not dump strength for elixirs?
Hey I have a Challenge for ya Red Mage but no Bard

I didn't do this one any different than normal I feel? I didn't notice a difference when recording
