this was a great show. KENTA unexpectedly joining bullet club, Shibata possibly coming out of retirement (for maybe one match) and Kota Ibushi won the G1 climax.
@Rayan ever wonder why they're called the dream team but lose majority of their matches? Like imagine if the Mega Powers lost every match they tagged, would they be the "Mega Powers"? This dream team is a disappointment to me.

@@brianban110 I agree. KENTA is Bullet Club because the fans turned on him. He's not one to take lead, but good for the NEVER title because it's a belt to put on people. Jay White is the beat heel in New Japan, though Suzuki caught fire beating Okada. But he was heavily cheered, White gets boos, that makes for great business.

I’m so glad that Ibushi is the G1 winner. Ibushi definitely deserves it 100% because he doesn’t need allies to get where he is at today. He was a lone warrior who want to change pro wrestling in his own way. He doesn’t kiss people ass or play backstage politics to get him a spot. Ibushi work hard for what he got! I’m so proud of him. We the people will definitely recognizes raw talent in Kota Ibushi and he is not a clout chaser like some wrestlers in pro wrestling. That my friend is respect! Kota Ibushi is a respectful guy. While no one would argue that Ibushi is, basically, The Perfect Man, the reality is that it takes two wrestlers to make for as fantastic a match as that was. Credit also has to go to Jay White for not only being one of the last true heels in modern wrestling, but for putting on o e hell of a performance. That guy doesn't get the props he deserves.
Yeah he's truly great.But I really think he should've won some other championship before the iwjp cuz he was a bit too green for that.
@@Shark_rooster I agree on that. He was certainly pushed into his first main title rin far too soon. Bit I guess you could say that "trial by fire" approach also went a long way to pushing his development so far so fast.
I mean, a mere three years ago if you said he'd be able to hang with someone like Naito at that level you'd scoff. Three years later and although (admittedly) Naito is way more beat up than he lets on, Jay was the more solid worker in that block final for my money.
The most humble, gifted and passionate wrestler in the world. I can’t tell you how heartbroken I was when he lost last year! This year I low-key teared up watching him reach the summit. Congrats Kota Ibushi! You absolutely deserve this moment and I know you’ll only continue to climb higher💙

I've seen this guy performing versus Kenta here in Dallas Tx, that show was awesome, one of the best wrestling shows i ever witnessed, I'm glad he's the winner, he deserves it 👍👍👍

1) I'm very happy that Ibushi has finally won the g1 after coming up short last year.

To people who complain about Kenny Omega, feel like he's congratulating him as well.
Main reason is because both never credit themselves for their success.
They credit those around them.
That's how great the Golden Lovers are whether 2gether or separate.
As for Jay White, he made two mistakes that caused him the G1.
First mistake was slapping Ibushi. Many people will tell you that when you slap Ibushi or you try to screw him up, his dark side takes over and all he can think about is destroying you. His second mistake...not taking the cover after hitting the bladerunner.
Jay White got rocked with so many Bomayees and V-Triggers that his mind and his focus all disappeared in 1 flash.
Interesting to note, no comment from Jay White at all.
Not even Gedo.

Ibushi always works so hard and I'm glad to see him win. However, it's a little bittersweet he has no one who is celebrating this win with him
Ibushi went through the whole tournament on one leg and still had stellar matches. This is absolutely amazing.

It would make his 2 year contract well worth it. And it's about time. I'm so tired of the Okada train. Time for some new blood to take the torch. Ibushi is still young, he can work, he can sell, he looks good in the ring, he is a charming fella, and he could be the new face of New Japan.

Yeah, I agree about the fact it will be good to see Ibushi with the title, this will give us new matches. But the face of New Japan will still be Okada for a good moment
@@walidraja5539 which is why the IWGP title gets stale because Okada is always beating people. Ibushi is young in a sense where he's not a 50 year old still chasing the belt. The IWGP title needs New Blood in a sense that Tanahashi and Okada aren't always winning the title. And I said it before and I'll say it again, Okada is BIGGER than the IWGP title, he can go on and win other belts to raise HIS prestige as the greatest wrestler of all Time.
@@TriplomatX I agree about the fact that Okada should win other title, like the IC. However, I disagree about the rest. In my opinion, if the IGWP title is seen as the most prestigeous right now, it's because the fact that they are only a few wrestler who are able to won this title: it makes it matter and a real accomplishment to win this title. That's why todays, the WWE championship sounds less important since the booking made it possible for a Jinder Mahal to win it from nowhere.
And I think that a great champion is made by his opponents. Yeah, Okada is always beating most of his challenger... But that's why he's a so great champion and that the title means something. Because they all failed to pin the champion. And that's why when someone does it, they seems like a so special accomplishment. That's why when Omega won this title, it felt that good : because he failed two times before and that Okada was just at this time the "final boss" of NJPW. And when Okada lost to him, I was hoping that he'll go for the Intercontinental and let the IGWP a little, at least for one year or two; but I'm pretty sure that they changed plans with Omega going to AEW. I'm pretty sure that's why he had again the title so soon but whatever.
I think that's cool because if Ibushi win, he'll start good as the IGWP champion. Thanks to how Okada is book.
But I don't think that NJPW will start to give the title for more people like that and that's fine. That's how the IGWP championship is and that's how why it sounds like the greatest accomplishment of this federation. Even if I would love to see guys like Ishii and Goto wins this title and it will probably never happens, but at least, they protect the title.
Honestly, if Ibushi win the title, I'm pretty sure that it will be Naito or White who will take his title back then and it will continue between them. I don't think that a Sanada, Evil or Shingo will have a run for it yet.
@@walidraja5539 when you Ric Flair was doing this with the NWA belt, he was tweeting between face and heel. But with Okada, I expect nothing but Okada going over. There's no mode of expectation in an Okada match. Now the WWE title, since you brought it up, the reason it's not the main feature because it's not on Vince's radar now. The Universal title is. But when you look back, you look at greats holding the title; Hogan, Flair, Savage, Warrior, Bret, Austin, Michaels, Hunter, Cena, Orton, Batista. Now, of course, you have your Jinder, Bray, Slaughter, Kane, Mysterio, and Miz with short and unmemorable reigns, but you also had Eddie Guerrero, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, & CM Punk with surprising wins and reigns. The minute you beat Okada, you getting beat by Tanahashi. The minute you beat Tanahashi, you getting beat by Okada. It's boring having a title surround two guys.

Excellent finish, the G1 is really the best thing going in professional wrestling. Bullet Club back to their old diabolical selves as well, should be interesting to say the least.
Too bad that the American Airlines Center was pretty empty. Dallas show was really good. The tournament was great. But for most Us fans it was more important that the AEW Show is sold out.
Alex Magic I feel terribly bad for the people that didn’t go to the Dallas show, they missed one hell of an opening for this amazing tournament and even if there was a few empty chairs I’ve never heard a crowd as loud as Dallas crowd that day!

Now, the Golden Lovers have both conquered the G1. It's Ibushi's time. He is your guy. If there's anyone who should take the belt from Okada, it's definitely Ibushi. My top 3 picks would be Suzuki, White, and Ibushi. But from a standpoint of winning the G1, if it's not White, it's definitely should be Ibushi. Kota is your guy. He signed a 2 year deal because he believes in NJ and now NJ has to make the right choice and book Ibushi to win at WK, get the big run, and see how he fairs as champion.
