Tony Melo are you sure it’s the amps fault? Do you have a prefab box or a box custom built to your subwoofer(s) and is the box built correct for your speaker(s)? Did you tune the amp correctly and are you getting sufficient power to the amp? And it is only a 1200 so it’s not going to have that crazy power and idk what your sub(s) are wired at (1, 2, 4ohm).
I'm working on my second SKAR setup. Currently have 2 EVL 12" running on an RP2000D in a 5cf box tuned to 32hz. Sounds incredible. Skar makes quality products. Thanks for the awesome videos Big D!
@@chenty500 ive had a skar 1500 for a couple years now has been working great but its the marine version which confuses people when they see my setup but its def saved me bc my trunk seal broke and rain got in but the amp stayed on and worked no issue

All Skar Audio amp's pump out more then thy are rated. Iv dyno 6 of thr amp's so far and all the ones iv dyno made more then it was rated. 2 thumbs up BIG "D" WIZ

I hooked it up to my Ampere Audio 15 (1500rms). And man... I could tell the difference! Couldnt believe the difference. Thanks to you channel... I found a good amp!
I have two of these amps in my setup, running two of the new skar VFX series 12’s in a ported box tuned at 33hz. They get down for sure. But I have dual 1/0 inputs also on each amp. And a 320 amp Iraggi alt, with 3 group 31 agms and the stock battery. These amps like there voltage and are reliable with it. Almost a year now with these amps and never had a problem.
I literally just bought a skar rp2000, and a vxf 12 for my car, i cant wait to hear some bass, bring back dem highschool memories slumpin two 10s in the back of my toyota

Clearly a good value. Thanks for that test! This is probably a dumb question, but do you (or have you ever considered) doing amp testing for a fee? I know you don't do repair, but people might be interested in just knowing whether their amp meet/exceeds specs. I think it could be worth $30-$50 to find out that info, if its worth your time to do it.
Gotta love skar audio....I have 1 of there first 5channel amps from 2014 I believe it is but I purchased it around 2015 and it’s holding up perfectly fine now in 2018
Brevard county is loving Skar. RP series amps are good SK series are better. I run RP 2k and the RP 1500. Even had an RP 800 on 2 Punch P2's RP series are perfect 1ohm stable amps just give them the power they need.

Yes they do! Owner is planning on offering multi packs and possibly key ring capable designs. That way you’d always be able to screw up somebody’s amp gain 🤪
Or you could go really Old School and buy an "eyeglass repair kit", the included screwdriver has ALWAYS been a perfect fit for adjusting gains... probably cheaper than those, too.
I actually want to buy one of these amps now. The 2k amp I bought a few years back is roughly the same price, but I've never seen anyone test it.. would be a cool experiment to try them both and see which one is better
May want to save up a little more and pick up one of these instead - lddy.no/uaas or Get one of these lddy.no/vvaw and a second one later if you need more power. I think these are the best bang for the buck along with reliability out there

cant you get a 1000A dc panel energy meter that connects directly in line from the power/batts to the amp ? instead of using a clamp or is that hard to find
I bought one of these to power two 15" Skar evl subs mounted in a ported enclosure that fits perfectly in the trunk of my Grand Marquis. I removed the rear seat to give the amp plenty of breathing room and also mounted a fan for it. It's powered by a 250 amp altercator, four batteries, heavy duty pure copper power cables and speaker wires. I barely have to turn it up to get the bass I want. I keep the gain about 1/3 and the subwoofer output from the head unit is at 1 out of 8. I'm afraid to turn it up too far because I don't want to blow my subs. I've already smelled them cooking once when I played "Drop Zone" by DJ Billy E

Its nice to have power available like this for a fraction of what it used to cost to get over 1k. Im actually sold on the prime series rockfords from your tests. The 1200d and the 400d 4 channel.
Used the skv2 100.4 AB for almost 2 yrs, dependable, decent sounding, not bad looking amp. Especially for the $, it still lives in my amp pile just waiting for my latest AB to die. It really did sound great, even better when the dm608 was feeding it.

I've had my skar rp2000.1d since September 2019 and four summers later it's still the best amp I've ever owned. I love how it never gives up even when it's hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns. It's not starved for power either. DJ billy E is no match for my skar system.
Then you've had some really crap amps. Because this amp is absolutely crap. My 1,000 watt Rockford outperformed it easily. Superior power and sound quality. If you think that Skar sounds good, then you're in for a BIG surprise when you actually get a good amp. Mark my words.
Skar gets a bad rap because the owner is said to be pretty shady. But I have a sk1500.1 and a sk90.4 and they have been solid. got the 90.4 during a amp trade in deal they did and talked to Kevin directly...no problems for me. I know the SK line is legit...but good to see the RP line is good too. hard to beat for that price.
i have two sk1500's that were b stock and have been running at .5 for 4 years. i have two 85.4's that i have had for the same amount of time. all work perfect. i just picked up a pair of sk2500's as well. the price point was really good on all of them.
lee carter actually the owner name his product skar because he was partners with sundown. And sundown screwed him over, so he named his product skar. Sundown and skar are the same besides magnets and few other things.
What model xs battery are you using I have a single skar evl 15 and I want to get the rp 2000 watt amp for it so I was wondering would one xs battery be enough for that amp
Yea man the difference between the Rp 1500 and the Rp 2000 is like 1200 watts lol that rp 2000 is up there with the wolfram 2400 for best bang for your buck amp
I like Skar I sent the amp in for repair the owner Kevin reached out to me. He show excellent customer service and sent me another amp and no issues since. Great product.
I bought this amp over a year ago and it's been great. It powers two 15" skar subwoofers and is fed by 6 batteries and a 250 amp alternator in my Grand Marquis. Gain set about a quarter of the way too.
@@levik9915It's very easy to power. 15-in woofers think about it some subwoofers are only rated at four or 500 RMS some are like 200 RMS this amp will easily exceed that
I heard you breath as soon as the the .8 dynamic finished, I knew cause I was holding my breath. Been awhile since one has fried on the Dyno. Just for anyone wondering... This amp blows the CAB 1600 out of the water in every test between 1 and 4 ohms. This amp produces what I call more usable/clean power. However, they seem to be sold out pretty much everywhere. I'm looking for a super good deal on an amp between 750w rms @ 4 ohms and 1600w rms @ 1 ohm. I have a few old school kicker solo baric s15's I want to send a bit of power to. They were rated at 750w rms if I remember correctly. So far, this is the best deal I've found as far as bang for the buck goes. I'm still doing some research though. I was trying to get an old school amp, but I'm not having much luck with that. If anyone has anything that would fit my application that they're willing to part with, let me know! I'll likely update this comment when I buy an amp.
I’m pushing two 12s hard on this amp at 1ohm on 4g wire and amp gets warm after about 20 minutes. Some heat sink 12v fans from Amazon keep it from getting even warm. The fans were only 12$.
D yesterday I was driving my wife's car. I put a stereo in it years ago and forgot how nice it sounded. I popped the trunk and low and behold I put in a 360@2. I can't believe how powerful it was. Can you do a bench test on that amp? Love your content!
Alphard Deaf Bonce is the best. Their subs slam and are louder at low frequencies than other brands. Two 15s can put out over 150 dB at 31hz lol even if you got top of the line Skar products, they still couldn’t do those numbers at that frequency. You’re tripping if you think Skar is the best.

These are powerful, but not very reliable. I’d check out the AudioPipe APMI2000 or Bass Rockers 2000.1d for budged Amps. Don’t forget electrical requirements for amps of this size too 👍

Many moons ago I used JL Audio as my go-to. Their stuff was spendy then, and these days it's far more spendy than it was back then. I'm new to the Skar brand, but seeing a class D that claims bug numbers and actually hits them at $0.10/watt is a great value.
I run this amp daily on CT sounds tropo 18's @ .5ohms. No problems yet subs take it all day as well they claim 600 rms on the subs but they have a 3 inch voice coil and are well built I'd bet they can easily take 1-1.3
I have had my amp for 2 years now and paired to a 10 evl and it has been great in my g35 08. 0 Issues so far. I am thinking of upgrading to a 12 zvx to see if it will run even better.
Why would it matter where the two speaker wires go in? they are connected together. whats on the other side of the board that would make the outside terminals better?

cant you get a 1000A dc panel energy meter that connects directly in line from the power/batts to the amp ? instead of using a clamp or is that hard to find
I bought one of these to power two 15" Skar evl subs mounted in a ported enclosure that fits perfectly in the trunk of my Grand Marquis. I removed the rear seat to give the amp plenty of breathing room and also mounted a fan for it. It's powered by a 250 amp altercator, four batteries, heavy duty pure copper power cables and speaker wires. I barely have to turn it up to get the bass I want. I keep the gain about 1/3 and the subwoofer output from the head unit is at 1 out of 8. I'm afraid to turn it up too far because I don't want to blow my subs. I've already smelled them cooking once when I played "Drop Zone" by DJ Billy E
Skar is awesome!! cant wait to get my rp2k..my feelings are the same about the 3.5mm jack with the bass knob..tbh you are 1 of the only reasons i come to youtube these days lol

This test doesn’t consider long term reliability, but buy a new amp with a 2yr warranty and this should be enough to protect your purchase for a while

Its nice to have power available like this for a fraction of what it used to cost to get over 1k. Im actually sold on the prime series rockfords from your tests. The 1200d and the 400d 4 channel.
These Skar amps provide a lot of power for the $$, but have been known to have reliability issues

Used the skv2 100.4 AB for almost 2 yrs, dependable, decent sounding, not bad looking amp. Especially for the $, it still lives in my amp pile just waiting for my latest AB to die. It really did sound great, even better when the dm608 was feeding it.

Like I've said before I've been really impressed with the bang for $ from Skar. I've been running all Skar subs for a while now in my home audio and car set up. I'm going to upgrade my rockford r500x1d soon to one of these amps. Good stuff!

Same here i have a RF Prime R500x1D on 2 15 but want to upgrade to a skar rp2000
I've had my skar rp2000.1d since September 2019 and four summers later it's still the best amp I've ever owned. I love how it never gives up even when it's hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns. It's not starved for power either. DJ billy E is no match for my skar system.
Then you've had some really crap amps. Because this amp is absolutely crap. My 1,000 watt Rockford outperformed it easily.
Superior power and sound quality. If you think that Skar sounds good, then you're in for a BIG surprise when you actually get a good amp. Mark my words.

Skar gets a bad rap because the owner is said to be pretty shady. But I have a sk1500.1 and a sk90.4 and they have been solid. got the 90.4 during a amp trade in deal they did and talked to Kevin directly...no problems for me. I know the SK line is legit...but good to see the RP line is good too. hard to beat for that price.

i have two sk1500's that were b stock and have been running at .5 for 4 years. i have two 85.4's that i have had for the same amount of time. all work perfect. i just picked up a pair of sk2500's as well. the price point was really good on all of them.
yeah- 85.4...that the mids amp. ran my 1500 at .5 for 6 months or so- never flinched.
I've been running the RP 1.5k for several months, and running hard I might ad. Great amp, they get hot but no problems.
lee carter actually the owner name his product skar because he was partners with sundown. And sundown screwed him over, so he named his product skar. Sundown and skar are the same besides magnets and few other things.

Yea man the difference between the Rp 1500 and the Rp 2000 is like 1200 watts lol that rp 2000 is up there with the wolfram 2400 for best bang for your buck amp
I like Skar I sent the amp in for repair the owner Kevin reached out to me. He show excellent customer service and sent me another amp and no issues since. Great product.

I bought this amp over a year ago and it's been great. It powers two 15" skar subwoofers and is fed by 6 batteries and a 250 amp alternator in my Grand Marquis. Gain set about a quarter of the way too.
How???? At 1 ohm how is that possible to power two 15’s? What are they rated at rms each

@@levik9915It's very easy to power. 15-in woofers think about it some subwoofers are only rated at four or 500 RMS some are like 200 RMS this amp will easily exceed that
I heard you breath as soon as the the .8 dynamic finished, I knew cause I was holding my breath. Been awhile since one has fried on the Dyno. Anyways great test, see you brought up a new page with all the Williston audio all in my face. Love it will check it out. Thanks again bigd. Just for anyone wondering... This amp blows the CAB 1600 out of the water in every test between 1 and 4 ohms. This amp produces what I call more usable/clean power. However, they seem to be sold out pretty much everywhere. I'm looking for a super good deal on an amp between 750w rms @ 4 ohms and 1600w rms @ 1 ohm. I have a few old school kicker solo baric s15's I want to send a bit of power to. They were rated at 750w rms if I remember correctly. So far, this is the best deal I've found as far as bang for the buck goes. I'm still doing some research though. I was trying to get an old school amp, but I'm not having much luck with that. If anyone has anything that would fit my application that they're willing to part with, let me know! I'll likely update this comment when I buy an amp.

Ive seen alot of people say this amp gets really hot at 1ohm
I’m pushing two 12s hard on this amp at 1ohm on 4g wire and amp gets warm after about 20 minutes. Some heat sink 12v fans from Amazon keep it from getting even warm. The fans were only 12$.

D yesterday I was driving my wife's car. I put a stereo in it years ago and forgot how nice it sounded. I popped the trunk and low and behold I put in a 360@2. I can't believe how powerful it was. Can you do a bench test on that amp? Love your content!

I personally think skar audio makes some of the best audio equipment, especially their subs!
Alphard Deaf Bonce is the best. Their subs slam and are louder at low frequencies than other brands. Two 15s can put out over 150 dB at 31hz lol even if you got top of the line Skar products, they still couldn’t do those numbers at that frequency. You’re tripping if you think Skar is the best.

These are powerful, but not very reliable. I’d check out the AudioPipe APMI2000 or Bass Rockers 2000.1d for budged Amps. Don’t forget electrical requirements for amps of this size too 👍

Many moons ago I used JL Audio as my go-to. Their stuff was spendy then, and these days it's far more spendy than it was back then. I'm new to the Skar brand, but seeing a class D that claims bug numbers and actually hits them at $0.10/watt is a great value.

I run this amp daily on CT sounds tropo 18's @ .5ohms. No problems yet subs take it all day as well they claim 600 rms on the subs but they have a 3 inch voice coil and are well built I'd bet they can easily take 1-1.3

The rp 2000 puts out almost 1400 more watta than the rp 1500.. I switched between the two and you wouldnt believe the difference

I have had my amp for 2 years now and paired to a 10 evl and it has been great in my g35 08. 0 Issues so far. I am thinking of upgrading to a 12 zvx to see if it will run even better.

I got this amp and a rp1500.1 in my nova pushing 4 12's and a rp1200.1 in my truck pushing 2 12's. .....love these amps

Why would it matter where the two speaker wires go in? they are connected together. whats on the other side of the board that would make the outside terminals better?
