That was a smashing episode and what a way for Gordon to learn an important lesson. Stepney making an appearance and I was shocked to see Lexi make a surprise cameo there :D .
Sad to hear he died I loved his acting since I was 2 months and i still cry cause he died he could've stayed to celebrate the 75th anniversary but he can celebrate it in heaven 🕊😭💔
Loved the tribute to Michael Angelis A great episode; very well written and not going to lie- was not expecting a red engine named Geoffrey to be added to your series Keep up the great work!
What a great story about Gordon visiting the Bluebell Railway - the 'real' Bluebell Railway, of course which is an hour and half drive away from my home. Hopefully, someday this year, I will able to return to the Bluebell Railway. :)
Not what I expected, I thought Gordon was teasing Stepney. But he sees the true meaning of a heritage railway. Nice story and Nice ending. Even though Stepney no longer runs due to a broken pipe. But we still love Stepney. That is actually a not-bad story👍
It's more than a failed steam pipe, as said in Terrier55Stepney's video about Stepney, In order for Stepney to be restored it needs to have new parts fitted and that means getting rid of its original parts that were there since his working days such as wheels, frames, cylinders, tanks etc. The railway would not want to sacrifice all of that for the sake of running Stepney in steam and so the only option, in their eyes, is to make a replica.
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 It's unlikely to have the real Stepney working again. His parts are all worn out and it will take a lot of money to give Stepney a full overhaul. Instead a replica was built.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, but as much as I enjoy watching your series, one thing that has been bothering me about it lately is that every episode from 'Typical Engines' onwards always involves a character telling the other characters the story about an event that happened to him/her. Whilst I understand this was needed for the 75th anniversary, it would be nice to see more non-flashback based stories as well. Putting that aside, excellent episode and please keep up the good work!
There will be a few more flashback stories, I will admit this season is relying heavily on flashbacks. But there are three non-flashback stories in the coming months, unless four since, IMO, Philip’s story is set within the present day despite it being a flash back :P But around next year there will be a mixture of flashback and non-flashback stories.
Brilliant episode to honor both the passing of Michael Angelis, as well as the 60th anniversary of the Bluebell Railway. I'm glad Gordon has come to realize that heritage railways are also like real railways, and I like the interaction between him and Stepney. Although, why couldn't he go to the Bluebell Railway by rail than by road?
Stepney has parts that are very authentic from the days it was built and would require replacing if it ever gets restored in future, which is highly unlikely as to some it's like getting rid of history. On surface it may look stupid to you but deep down there is a good reason.
Not really, the NWR is still a working railway, despite using long gone equipment but with some modernities, e.g - the Train Protection Warning System (TPWS), whereas a heritage railway are lines that recreate a certain time in the past with not much modernity, apart from machines in their workshops.
I love how you involved Stepney’s predicament in real life into the story
That little tribute at the start of the video was lovely man, as well as the rest of the episode
Amen to that, i almost shed a tear. Rest well forever Mr. Angelis... thank you for being the voice of our childhoods. 💙💙💙
That last bit of the episode of Stepney and Gordon telling each other spiritually goodnight made me tear up a little. Marvelous work as always.
Me to, more at the begining of the video to the dedication of Michael Angelis.
Michael Angelis was a good narrator, real good, maybe even the best.
Amen
yes true

Rest in peace Michael angelis you will be forever miss and the course and a good narrator for the UK version of Thomas and Friends😔
This was a good video and R.I.P Michael Angeles
Micheal will always rule the British narration.
This was one of your best episodes this year! Nice job tieing real events to this! I’m very impressed man.. can’t wait for the next one!
Rest In Peace Michael Angelis. He was the best narrator for the uk

@@NWR1991 you mean the Stepney in that bluebell black livery.
Terrier55Stepney did say that they made a replica of him to be in service and the real one as a museum piece.

There’s no actual replica of him. It’s a more probable idea to make a replica version.

RIP
The memorial at the begining was very tasteful. I only just found out he was married to Helen Worth (Gail from Corrie)
Beautiful I legit almost cried. Well done NWR1991

Gordon and Stepney saying goodnight to each other at the end made me cry. That's something really special...
Great episode! Well done as always!
Nice job adding Michael Angeles in the beginning.
It is magnificent! But i bet that the next stories will probably be even greater too!
Great job NWR please make more of these stories. They can be interesting.
Now we all got to say goodnight to stepney
Brilliant episode, just brilliant.

No, it was the 60th anniversary of the Railway Series. I mean the beginning of the episode after the intro was very obvious.
Oh, right.
I can’t wait for this video.
Interesting can’t wait to see this
Now this, has certainly peaked my interest 😁
I agree
I really enjoy this episode
Honestly, I think it’s completely stupid that they won’t even try to fix Stepney.
Stepney has parts that are very authentic from the days it was built and would require replacing if it ever gets restored in future, which is highly unlikely as to some it's like getting rid of history. On surface it may look stupid to you but deep down there is a good reason.
They don't necessarily need to throw away the original pieces, I think they would be good to show to the people
This is going to be good.
AYYYYY! I’M IN THE CHAT! Rip Michael Angelis

Rest in Peace, Michael Angelis.

7:06 I assume the standard NWR coach is a stand in for the LNWR observation car? clever way of doing it I gotta admit
NewController01 - I just placed it there because heritage railway always mish mash their various authentic carriages on normal running days.
@@NWR1991 that is quite true
RIP Micheal Angeles
Yeah, it is finally here
Nice work! 👏🏽
Rip Michael
rip michael angelis his was great
Mainline steam only exists because of heritage railways.
So does this episode takes place during the New Series
Micheal Angelis died? May he rest in piece...
Wait wouldn’t sodor be effectively be a heritage railway in 2005?

Huh fair enough thanks for that
Is it my idea or I saw gordon pulling the express?! Because at the video of s6 ep11 gordon stopped pulling the express.
NickN'Gaming GR - It’s a flashback, it was kind of obvious at the start
Yes sorry my fault
And Calling All Engines
