    As a practicing Buddhist for 12 years who has recently started exploring druidry through the OBOD Bardic Course, I think I can safely say that modern druidry is a beautiful enhancement to an existing spiritual practice....Or, if you have no existing spiritual practice, it is a complete spiritual path in its own right.
    Phillip Carr-Gomm is a wonderful ambassador for the movement, (check out his "Tea With A Druid" videos on TH-cam), who inspires and guides with great skill.
    I'd certainly recommend diving in. Sign up for the course and learn to connect with nature in an uplifting and positive way. 🙏

    I've watched this vid many times and I always try to see who is singing the harmony during the AWEN at the beginning ;) It's like when some people harmonise the last line of "Happy birthday" ;) Hey, to the singer, I'm only joking - just having a wee giggle ;) I actually like the soothing sound it creates :)

    @FullMoonMysticism1 It's not that at all. It's good that you acknowledge this, but Druidry itself is not just a religion. For some it's a way of life. In fact from what I've seen from Druidry (the way of life) it shares a lot of Christian values, such as tolerance, forgiveness, and so on. the only difference is an emphasis on the reverence for the world around us

    its kind of like learning to read music, you can play music without learning to read formal music notation, and it seems like when you learn to read it like that, it kind of changes the way you play, for some people they may want that effect, but for others, you might just not want that effect, same with compass, it kind of changes something about your energy, some may like the effect, others may not, I don't think anyone should be forced either way but I think it does make a difference

    @jnejman That is according to your belief. In fact ancient Cro-magnon carvings depict a mother Goddess figure... from well before Ancient Babylon. Some of these Mother Figures date from the time of the last Ice Age. It is also believed that Neanderthal Man, actually had animism as their core belief due to the way that Cave Bear bones were arranged in burial sites.

    causes a vibration which heals, because it can't be spoken on specifically, only through the unconscious, almost we were just like a kind a consciousness and in it, we didnt really see it in terms of race, or gender. then we saw how it was how we were all really messengers for all those creatures, we were rainbows representing all of them, but it was fractal because just as we did to them,

    @fullmoonmysticism The potential for confusion arises here because most O.B.O.D.
    Initiates come from a Christian Backgrond And bring this baggage with them and
    consequently see Druidry through that lens; there is in reality little that links the
    two traditions, if you care to go below the various cultural layers; it has more
    in common with Shamanism.

    i see it manipulated from behind, i know there are deeper connections other ways of thinking and living in the world, than that, and just by that, i am made different, because i live in a different vibration. is that a mystical state of consciousness, where like the amanita muscaria it never dies, is it the godlike state to see the connections? to know, as the wise ones, the full dharma, but just by knowing the full dharma, everyone benefits from the full dharma, maybe just by mentioning it

    Then why don't you go practice Christianity as it originally existed (I'm not being sarcastic. That would actually be very interesting.). Good luck figuring out what exactly that was like though.
    Wrong. If you ignore the Christian propaganda, you'll see that the entire character of Jesus was adopted largely from Mithras and Dionysus.

I spilled apple juice on a chair then I sat in it... this is the Kabbalah... maybe its just that no one is really ready for the scary stuff... in the end. I believe its all real. it tells me something, it fills in missing plot areas... it makes me know, there is responsibility that exists in this word... this is genius... our culture is so deep, the magic is basically for you, these are not programs...

    "i am a pagan, and christians havent showed us much respect throughout the years, so why should i be any different?"
    Perhaps because we cannot expect others to show us respect or tolerance when we don't practice those virtues ourselves.
    Like begets like, and the only way out of that cycle is to change our behaviour.

    Tipis aren't about spirituality. they are a form of housing that leaves no footprint on the land they are temporarily placed upon. The tipis in question are being used in a respectful (to the land) manner.Respect for the land is a very Druidic concept. This isn't about "cultural misappropriation".
    I can't believe that most Native Americans would be angry about a group of people respecting a piece of land. Besides, I don't know anyone of any race or ethnic background that would imply First Nations people who wear jeans (a white man invention and form of clothing) are "culturally misappropriating" Levi's or Wranglers.

    Unfortunatley I have a lot of experience with people like this and yes there is such a thing as "fake" paganism. In terms of creating your own path - you are preaching to the converted - it is the only way. What is "fake" is setting yourself up as some sort of authority , making claim to or appearing to embody unbroken ancient traditions - and manipulating the naive in to giving you money and/or ego gratification by setting yourself up as some sort of guru.

      ***** no, the modern mohawk hairstyle.. did you not see the link?

    • @JackHernandezGentlemanJack
      @JackHernandezGentlemanJack 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I disagree. the hair is short at the sides and stuck up striaght with wax like a mohawk. Also the hairstyle is not named after the tribes in America.. it was made up in the 50's by hollywood.. it's just the name of the style, it has nothing to do with the actual native American tribes

    • @JackHernandezGentlemanJack
      @JackHernandezGentlemanJack 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** the name of hairstyle was made up by hollywood.. a simple google would confirm that for you.. it was form the movie "drums of the mohicans" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohawk_hairstyle and it is widely accepted that that is all the style of the conclovian man

    • @JackHernandezGentlemanJack
      @JackHernandezGentlemanJack 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** the hairstyle is the same thing, mohawk and mohican are both used to name the HAIRSTYLE. I am not talking about a tribe I'm talking about a style of hair. Which was given it's name by popular media long after tribes of America were ubiquitously using them. The term was coined in the 50's by hollywood by its misuse of the hairstyle in the movie drums of the mohicans.. as the wikipedia and general information on the subject explains. And despite the name being shared by native Americans they do not have monopoly on hairstyles. They were also worn by ancient Britons.

    Exactly! You are proving my point! The Christmas holiday is pagan and has nothing to do with Christianity! Christian belief is based on the Bible not holidays attributed to it 100s of years after. Once again: Christianity stole nothing from paganism. Thanks.

  • @megawolf7
    @megawolf7 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thoroughly research Mithras and you'll see there are 2 versions: Persian & Roman. The Persian version has no real similarities and the Roman POST dates Xtianity. Here is where similarities are. The Romans stole from Xianity.
    Dionysus is nothing like Christ. Christ was a real person. Dig deeper.
    I do practice Xtianity as it originally existed. The Bible is the source of practice & early church fathers kept accurate records too.

      "Christ was a real person." Correction, There were many "Christs", there was more than one, male and female of different eras. "Christ" from the Greek is "Christos" meaning "the anointed one" or "the oil bearer". Being "the Christ" does not indicate specifically who it is.

  • @niallobinghe
    @niallobinghe 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    But, if you dedicate your life should you tolerate deciet, falsness and corruption?
    Christianity lost its credibility for such 'tolerance'.Can you really seperate religion from
    your 'way of life? i suppose it is down to definitions; too many people assume the title of Druid whilst barely comprehending its meaning; 'Phylosophy' and 'Way of life'
    Are conveniently vague..

  • @megawolf7
    @megawolf7 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    You mean Catholicism, not Christianity.

  • @megawolf7
    @megawolf7 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    The POPE (Not Christianity) took pagan holidays and Christianized them in order to make it easier for pagans to convert. It worked!
    Even so, this says nothing about Christian doctrine. You don;t have to celebrate holidays to be a Christian. Christianity is doctrine NOT holidays.
    If you actually research Osiris, Dionysus, etc. You'll see that there not even similar to Jesus. Pagans and atheists try hard to make them seem similar. :)

  • @megawolf7
    @megawolf7 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    A symbol is only as good as its meaning. Christ was crucified on a literal wooden cross as testified by the Biblical writers but also ancient secular historians. So, the meaning of the cross to Christians is what Christ did on those two pieces of wood. Nothing pagan behind it at all.

  • @megawolf7
    @megawolf7 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    NO WHERE does the Bible is Dec 25 is Christ's b-day thus that date has nothing to do with Christianity. Dec. 25th was attributed to as Christ's b-day by Pope Julius in A.D. 350. The council of Nicea was held in A.D. 325 & had NOTHING to do with Christ's b-day or the books of Bible cannon. It had to do with Arianism. Please do your research. Thanks.

    But then, this is the Pagan revival; Everybody can assume the right to adopt
    titles and make it up as you go along..'So, you are the leader of the Druids?'
    'Yes' says phillip...Wrong; you are the leader of O.B.O.D. Who do not represent

      ALL people are shepherds. Whether you know it or not or even want it or not, there are people who are emulating you because for some reason they respect you, like you or love you.
