I REALLY enjoyed this Drama & you are correct the ML is SOOOOOO Good in Suits. I wonder if he is a Model. But back to this drama. This is one of my favorite time traveled dramas. Thanks for the review & the 2 gold mine score. Keep up. God bless.
This drama was exactly what I wanted: sweet, time travel, and easy to watch. I think its the chemistry and pairing of the couple that made this so enjoyable. Nothing will ever compare to Someday One Day.
Someday One Day was sooo good. I finished it forever ago and still think about it sometimes. I also have the OST on my playlist rotations, it was really good
@@Avalishna The movie is coming out soon! I'm going to rewatch the entire series again in preparation. The actors are all so good too. Esp Greg Hsu, have seen him in quite a few shows and I've been very impressed.

I just binged watch this yesterday. It was very fun to watch! I enjoyed the little details like the cat that keeps coming up on screen (a coincidence?) and some of the wardrobe details. For example, the male lead’s clothes often look like different pieces of fabric sewn together, similar to what the apartment looks like at 10:06 each night.
Wow, this is the highest rating I've seen you give a drama! You are so charming and funny, I enjoy listening to your critics. Watching your lightheartedness when talking about this drama put a smile on my face. Also like your hat.
Just started watching this based on AX recommendation and I'm loving it! I love He Zhengyu haha - he's a super sharp and logical with very reasonable habits (i love cleanliness and have walked out of friends' dirty homes). Chen Jialan is cute but they should have used her real voice because XHZ has a low, chill voice that would have matched nicely with YXW's voice. I think she physically looks not quite fully grown despite being tall though lol. So...I'm kind of ignoring her LOL. Lastly, I love watching how the leaves on the outside of the apartment change colors lol. Don't understand the logic but I love leaves.
This sounds similar but not to a flim I haved watched called ' The Lake House ' . They writers also had similar time- travel idea. 2006 staring Keaun Revees and Sandra Bullock. I will be definitely watching this series, thanks for the review.
OMG!! LOL! Your post popped up in my feed so, naturally, I dropped in and heard you discussing “Love in Time.” I was instantly inspired to run check the story out and didn’t even hear anymore of the discussion, I just couldn’t wait, I had to go see. I just got up to the part where the male lead finds her sitting at the desk and his terrified reaction was so realistic…. I actually felt fear too! When she turned around with the white face, I nearly peed from laughing so hard. Can’t say if this is gonna be good or bad but it’s something I would never considered checking out until I heard about it here. Thank you for the tip! Be back later to finish up here. I can’t wait to get back to laughing. 🤣 😂😂😂😂
I really enjoyed the earlier episodes of the new versions. I watched the original version in 2018 and I still preferred it more. This series made me rewatched the original one and also gave me new input while watching the new one. So glad that iqiyi remake the series.
Second and last comment I watched your review first, then I went to watch the drama series. I watched this drama without any expectations. Then I fell in love with He zhenyu 2022. It's realistic ending, but it hurts at the same time. I cried for He zhenyu 2022. 😭😭😭
I saw the old version. After your review, i think i;ll watch this version as well. Loved your idea of how karma and hypothesis worked to correct things.
I think the ML becomes the man he was in 2022, he was already changing in 2021 and the memories he inherited completed the process, so he was essentially the same guy of 2022.He has both memories os he changed a bit more but losing her lover of 2022 changed the FL too so i choose to believe they can have real relationship now where they can spend time indefinitely.
Was debating whether to check this drama out. It sounds similar to ‘Lake House’, the 2006 film with Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock. I have just come off Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty & am curious to see Yang Xu Wen in contemporary role. I first encountered him in Noble Aspirations where he played Zhao Li Ying’s character’s older ‘brother’. He had a very minor role but I was struck then by how well he carried himself - with his height & posture, not to mention he was also very pleasing to the eye 😁. Was surprised he was not in more dramas afterwards but since your review on STOTD, guess there was a reason for hiatus. But very glad he is able to make a comeback. I’m looking forward to checking this drama out. Thanks for review. 😍
I enjoyed it a lot and wondered if you were going to comment on it. The original focused on the mystery and trust issues, this one one the love triangle between the FL and 2022 and 2021 MLs. It was very sweet, I thought the FL was pretty sharp. Thank you.
Thank you, as always for your reviews. I have begun to learn mandarin from watching cdramas. What I expecially love about listening to you is your lovely accent. Also you are so articulate in both english and mandarin. Plus, you always enunciate your english and mandarin words so clearly. It's like you are my personal tutor.
This is a good adaptation of Meet Me@1006; streamlining a lot of the over elaborate plot lines of the original and giving the male and female leads slightly different characters. The main leads also look better in this C-drama. Compare to the original version, this drama is more focus on the relationship between the two leads, hence more romance moments. The original did better on the mystery thriller bit due to the male leads being a criminal trial lawyer, but in terms of time travelling logic, this drama did better. The ending is logical if you have watched Someday or One Day, which I think the script writers had taken note of while adapting this drama. Overall, a very satisfying watch. I like Avenue X’s interpretation of the ending. For me, I see the drama as a single timeline which went into a Mobius Loop and the past would keep repeating until something happened that will break the loop. When the loop is broken, hence the “past future” would have to merge into the “present past” in order to allow the timeline to move forward. Hence, the ending is not really a BE for the 2022 male lead, it only meant the 2021 male lead needs to be given time to catch up and morph into the 2022 version of himself. One thing about the title, I think My Secret Roommate would have been a better English title as compared to Love In Time, which had been used as the English Title of another C-drama. I do expect better from iQiyi.
@@melodyleong definitely worth watching as the plots are different. You find the classic moments in Meet Me@1006 recreated in this drama, but this drama has its own classic moments too. One funny scene is where the 2022 male lead dissing the 2021 version of himself to the female lead, and later the 2021 version practically act out in front of the female lead all the things his future self said about himself.
the synopsis of this drama reminded me of a webtoon called: freaking romance! roommate that spontaneously appears but instead of time entropy, it's alternate realities crashing in on each other. not saying they are inspired from one another, just an alternative for people who like this drama and want more :)
yess I was hoping you watched this drama ~ also looked for other dramas with the ML and was disappointed it was mostly historical/costume ones. He looks sooo good in suits.
Drama is set in jiangsu province. The tall building with hole in the middle has a large mall and is called the suzhou center. suzhou center, wuer space hotel, gaoxin, ifs building (has slanted top), times square, leshang kart club, PT lounge, golden eagle international shopping center, suzhou ferris wheel park, lafine de paris wedding showroom are in suzhou, jiangsu. Wuxi Center 66 tower II is office building with 6 storey retail having Premier Cinemas and is in wuxi, Jiangsu province. Ascott Central Hotel is in wuxi, jiangsu province. cf365 is a convenience store chain. hualin road seems to be in changzhou, jiangsu province. Nanjing is the capital of jiangsu province.
You know! I was so anxious that everyone couldn't recognize this drama because it has definition of hidden gem. Then I wonder if you'll like this drama, because before in updates news, you never mention it. I wonder if it's because of Yang Xuwen scandal? And then I watched your review for Strangest Tales of Tang Dynasty and I was like "oh God please let Avenuex also pick up this drama" I almost give up and BAM you upload this review, and I'M SO SO HAPPY. This really made my day. And then you also satisfied with this drama. What you thought is exactly what I thought. Ahhh, we share same brain cells (for this drama specifically) AND YOU ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, I NEVER SEEN ANY ACTORS WHO SUITS WEARING SUITS AS MUCH AS YANG XUWEN🤣
What was Yang Xuwen's scandal about and how long was it ago? perhaps was just linked with woman/girlfriend type of stories or rumor, right? Just being nosy because I like the actor..... lol
@@auntjade5354 a chinese admin of huge c-ent information account said that his scandal is like public secret. A woman has died/ commited suic*de, but police has released a confirmation that he is innocent. I don't know the real truth either but he's really a great actor. If he was really innocent, I really feel bad for him😔
The scandal was so serious that I’m sure if he was guilty he would’ve served jail time. But since he was cleared, I’m willing to believe he’s innocent. As the common saying goes, “Better let 10 guilty people free than condemning the innocent. And I would love to see YXW in more dramas. Even watched him with Dilraba in The Backlight of Love, they were both just starting and so young.
I loved this drama! I thought the male lead did a really good job, and I loved the story. I am so happy that you liked it, too! Now to track down Someday One Day.
Some day or one day, can't compare with this drama. Someday or one day is at another level. Haven't seen a time travel drama that's is that good as SDOOD.
First of all, i don't expect you to watch and even react to this drama after what you say about YXW 'scandal' on last episode.. so it's a nice little surprise.. I totally agree with you, this is a very well-made time travel drama, highly enjoyable. Although the way they merge and patch things up here and there a bit rough, but it' still watchable. It's simplicity and not as dark as "someday or oneday" is a plus point (because i still can't let go the shit they did on that drama😧) and makes this drama really fun to watch, everything is just enough and not all over the place... though i'm actually bit lost at the last episode and how it ended but maybe that just because of the translation lol but overall it really is a good drama. Oh and for me, this one's FL is a much better version than on the "meet me at 1006", no hate to the actresses, it's their characters that i'm talking about, idk if you've watch that or not, but i believe you'll agree this one's FL is much more bearable than that one
I’m glad you picked this up to review. And I totally agree with the points that you mentioned. I had this on reserved the first time I read the synopsis in IQIYI and it didn’t disappoint. So it was a joy watching YXW’s dramas back to back . As I also explained in my comments in another platform, the ending was the most logical. Both HE 21 and 22 are of the same person. And I didn’t spend time with the whys of 22 dying. Because everything made sense to me. FL’s character was annoying at the beginning( too many examples to mention) and kind of fell in the let’s break up as the only solution trope, typical of Cdramas. And since I watched YXW in 2 dramas already, I’m looking forward to his next ones.
You hooked me in and had to pause right before you started the spoilers, binged the drama the past two days and now a zombie. I can’t seem to find the piano bgm used at the end of ep 13 and pretty much the last few episodes. Does anyone know what’s the name of the track or where to find a recording of it??
I like this kind of plot, Time Travel and Loop Time. Two of favorite dramas that I watch recently also about Time Travel, Triage (Thai series) and Once Again (Korean). Yes they are BL. Triage has more complicated time travel that keeps looping again and again. But they are so good. I love them. Talking about the Female Lead, yes I like her original voice more (as in the behind the scene clips). Thank you for your video 😊🙏
I watched this drama without any knowledge that this is a remake of TW drama until I watched almost half of the drama. I just saw the main female lead, and recognised her from Forever Love drama, which I like. I do like this drama. And yes I agreed with you..I kinda checked out Yang Xuwen after this drama. I didn't know he has a scandal back a few years ago. I don't think the ending is BE, if you think in a way 🤔
The cat walking in the background must be a common easter egg. The Crack of Dawn, ep. 21, as the FL and ML are walking up the stone steps leading to her Grandmothers house, 35:19, a cat walks behind them crossing their path. This can't be coincidental.
I just finished watching this series. I was really fun. And I agree, it is totally a happy ending. It was an enjoyable watch and a show I can rewatch. Worth the time.
In ep 1, the china version changed the murder case to a divorce case maybe bec china drama wants to do more comedy. Harder to do comedy if there is a murder case in ep 1. Ep 1 shows the Ascott Central hotel which is in wuxi, jiangsu province. Each episode ends with some behind the scenes.
I don't think too much about which version she end up with because for me the ML two versions are not different entities (same person just the other one kind of got the memories late), so for me it's a happy ending.
Not sure if you're aware Avenuex, Love in time is actually a remake of a Taiwanese show called 'Meet me @1006'. The male lead in Someday One day also played a major role in it! Also, the issue that needed to be solved was a murder case not a divorce case so there were higher stakes.
終於等到了!! I was hoping you would do a review on this awesome drama! If you enjoy time travel drama, you should watch Shining For One Thing, even though I know you mentioned that it's not your type of drama.
I just finished watching it. I LOVE IT!!. I marathon watch it. And have this urge to rewatch few days after. That is how much I love it.😁 I loved it so much I watch the Taiwanese version
Thank you for the review, hope to have more review from you in future, meanwhile do you have any similar time travel drama recommendations haha I actually really like this drama theme
The china version made lots of improvements to the taiwan version but more changes were probably needed. Some of the china changes were just old tropes. The china version still had plenty of plot holes and still had too many coincidences. The ending needed more changes to make it better.
Will watch the taiwan version first: Meet Me @ 1006 (2018) which has older actor and older actress so acting is probably much better. Taiwan dramas usually use the real voices. Taiwan accent is probably more similar to the mandarin accent found in south provinces like Fujian province. Chinese outside of china tend to have originated from the south provinces like guangdong and fujian so their accent is probably closer to those provinces. Many things are lost in translation so I am pretty sure many things were lost in translating from the Taiwan version to the china version.
I went to watch this drama series after I watched your review. Both the ML and FL were new to me but I did enjoy their cp on screen pairing (chemistry was not as strong as some other pairs but nonetheless I did enjoy them). You're so right about the human clothing hanger by the ML He looked so good in suits and even as simple as shirts and jackets and long coats (maybe he's just tall and slender and has a straight body line and shape...lol) As for the ending.... I was a little worried about your suspicious Happy Ending, hoping that's not a fake HE or a HE in suspense for the audience's wild imagination (like some other time travel type of stories). I was so happy with the ending. In my heart and personal opinion, that's probably the most logical and satisfactory result for a humans' practical world, the one that I am living in, haha Thank you so much, AvenueX for your continuous guidance for a lot of good drama series recommended to me/us (I am sort of new here, only been a Chinese DramaLand audience/fan for less than 2 years). Thanks again.
The china version should have reduced the number of episodes to 12 or 15 like Reset so that the 2 heroes will not look incompetent in preventing disasters.
:D Watched this drama not knowing what to expect, was actually quite pleased how it turn out to be. Towards the end, the FL's noble idiocy plot was kind of annoying, but overall an easy watch and entertaining.
If you look at twins, the programming from the environment makes even twins quite different from each other, so in changing the past stories, the resulting changes in the environment does result in producing different personalities. I have met twins in the office in the past who were brought there by a parent, and I tested them by making them answer 10 questions I invented on the spot to see how different they actually are.
Maybe it's because I spent the whole drama comparing it to the original, but the CP in this one didn't work for me, the CP in the original worked perfectly. I also think the characters in general in the original were more complex and the acting was better.
(Slightly differing opinion) I've watched this version AND the original Taiwanese version, honestly speaking I do believe that the OG was way better, (maybe I'm just biased because I really liked the OG version, especially with Xu Guang Han's character's setup) I do enjoy this version but other than the general setup (their careers + 10:06 to 10:52 timeline) this is almost an entirely different drama to me. It is interesting, don't get me wrong but I really cannot bring myself to accept that this is a remake of 1006. 1006 is just on another level of sound production. A good standalone drama, but not so good remake. Feel like this version is lacking a bit in terms of that slice-of-life along with action kind of thing.
I've watched the drama and I enjoyed it a lot (I've noticed the cat right away! I'm a living cat detector :). The ending was perfect for me. But one thing that bothers me A LOT was the nonsensical "lenght" of the 46 minutes each time. I mean, sometimes the 46 min allow them to have dinner and watch the fireworks and MOVE around the city, but other nights the 46 min seems to only last a couple of sentences. WTF? Too much relativity for the time measure! 😂
I love Some Day or One Day so i may have to watch this one if you liked it so much. Thanks for the review! I stopped watching at the point where you said you would discuss the ending…
I just watched your final review on Mr. Bad before watching this one. At the end of your review there, you talked about how in Time Travel dramas nowadays, it's always the male lead who's from the other world and the female lead's world is always the real world, whilst before, it was always the female lead who travels back in time, or other parallel world. To be honest, I was kinda expecting that you found this drama kinda interesting because it was the male lead's time that is the setting and how he 'supposedly' went back in time to save the female lead type. Like you implied in your previous video that it is rare for a time travelling drama where the male lead's world is actually the real world (you said that it was always the female lead's world that is the real world). Nevertheless, I like your review telling. Long live your channel!
I enjoy this drama way more than expected, no knowledge of the IP story that it based on, pretty much started due to both leads. I so agree with you that the female character could be more mature compared with her counterparts. I can accept the ending as HE, an yet to be real person died in a fictional timeline, the used to be arrogant male lead grew into the caring person we all like. Feels like good dreams become true. A funny side note, I got face blind with the male lead after watching Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty. I kept envision him with the male lead from The Imperial Coroner. The two actors don't really look alike. I think I am going to rewatch Strange Tales to stop mixing them. 🙂
Changed the title and ending of how I usually do my videos~ it's been years and during this double eclipse season, let's just CHANGE things~
Love the changes
It’s great

I almost give up and BAM you upload this review, and I'M SO SO HAPPY. This really made my day. And then you also satisfied with this drama. What you thought is exactly what I thought. Ahhh, we share same brain cells (for this drama specifically)
AND YOU ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, I NEVER SEEN ANY ACTORS WHO SUITS WEARING SUITS AS MUCH AS YANG XUWEN🤣
@@pinkblossom5768 thank you
@@AW-xu6es thank you
I loved this drama! I thought the male lead did a really good job, and I loved the story. I am so happy that you liked it, too! Now to track down Someday One Day.
I really like SDOD, and will watch this drama, since i didn’t finish the original version
Some day or one day, can't compare with this drama. Someday or one day is at another level. Haven't seen a time travel drama that's is that good as SDOOD.
It's on Netflix iirc
I totally agree about the suits hihihi just me smiling that avenuex finally made a review
Have a wonderful day AvenueX! I love your outfit style!
I love your beanie hat. Looks so good on you. I think I want one for myself🙂
This is reminding me of WEBTOON freaking romance
love this drama..watch straight..difficult to go sleep I like like
Have you seen the " House lake" with keenu Reeves? This movie was a remake of a Korean movie. About a house rent at two different time
First of all, i don't expect you to watch and even react to this drama after what you say about YXW 'scandal' on last episode.. so it's a nice little surprise..
I love the TW version, will look into this new c-adapt..
You're on point with this one, luv it too 😍
Please try watching My Calorie Boy, I wanna see your review about it 🥺
I like this kind of plot, Time Travel and Loop Time.
I don't think the ending is BE, if you think in a way 🤔
The ending maked me sad and happy
Wow this sounds soo interesting! Sounds a bit like Sliding doors? (Old Gwyneth Paltrow movie from the nineties!)
I enjoyed this drama. It was cute.
The cat walking in the background must be a common easter egg. The Crack of Dawn, ep. 21, as the FL and ML are walking up the stone steps leading to her Grandmothers house, 35:19, a cat walks behind them crossing their path. This can't be coincidental.
I just finished this too, love it!!
I just finished watching this series. I was really fun. And I agree, it is totally a happy ending. It was an enjoyable watch and a show I can rewatch. Worth the time.
After watching this now I know why there’s no review of yours of Shining for One Thing drama! 😂
Another pretty time travel story to those who are interested: 'shining for one thing'
I definitely have to watch this
Looks interesting. Love the hat!
I'll add this to the list! Thank you!
mmm! sounds interesting! Have a wonderful November Avenue X!
I don't think too much about which version she end up with because for me the ML two versions are not different entities (same person just the other one kind of got the memories late), so for me it's a happy ending.
Trivia :
The ML in "Some day or One day" played a supporting role in the Tversion of "Love in time"
Who's that?
@@auntjade5354 Greg Shu. He plays a supporting role in "meet me @1006".
@@bapyongukgukguk2352 Thanks
@@auntjade5354 and I assure you he is so adorable you just want to wrap him and put him in your pocket
Si alguien que hable español la busca su título es: Mi compañero de piso secreto. 😳😳😁
Sounds like that korean movie..." il mare".
Yessss..I thought you'd like it.. the ending eps were kinda rushed but overall was amazing 😌
I am gonna watch this coz I love time travel😍😍 I still listen to the ost of someday or one day☺️
i just finished ep 20!!! 4 ep to go~
I just finished watching it. I LOVE IT!!. I marathon watch it. And have this urge to rewatch few days after. That is how much I love it.😁
I loved it so much I watch the Taiwanese version
Thank you for the review, hope to have more review from you in future, meanwhile do you have any similar time travel drama recommendations haha I actually really like this drama theme
I had it on my watch list.
I am looking for a drama after Strange Tales of Tang dynasty, This sounds like it.
I look forward to watching this drama.
It was really good
Have you watched Shards of Her, the new TW drama on Netflix? Looking forward to your review
I went to watch this drama series after I watched your review.
Both the ML and FL were new to me but I did enjoy their cp on screen pairing (chemistry was not as strong as some other pairs but nonetheless I did enjoy them).
You're so right about the human clothing hanger by the ML He looked so good in suits and even as simple as shirts and jackets and long coats (maybe he's just tall and slender and has a straight body line and shape...lol)
As for the ending.... I was a little worried about your suspicious Happy Ending, hoping that's not a fake HE or a HE in suspense for the audience's wild imagination (like some other time travel type of stories). I was so happy with the ending. In my heart and personal opinion, that's probably the most logical and satisfactory result for a humans' practical world, the one that I am living in, haha
Thank you so much, AvenueX for your continuous guidance for a lot of good drama series recommended to me/us (I am sort of new here, only been a Chinese DramaLand audience/fan for less than 2 years). Thanks again.
It reminds me of The Lake House movie.
The china version should have reduced the number of episodes to 12 or 15 like Reset so that the 2 heroes will not look incompetent in preventing disasters.
ok gonna watch it now
:D Watched this drama not knowing what to expect, was actually quite pleased how it turn out to be. Towards the end, the FL's noble idiocy plot was kind of annoying, but overall an easy watch and entertaining.
I really liked this drama, it has best ending possible. Much better than Taiwan version.
I also think the characters in general in the original were more complex and the acting was better.
yesss, loved this one!
The Taiwanese version is fun as well
Wow, that sounds a bit similar to Snaillord's webtoon, huh?
(Slightly differing opinion)
I've watched this version AND the original Taiwanese version, honestly speaking I do believe that the OG was way better, (maybe I'm just biased because I really liked the OG version, especially with Xu Guang Han's character's setup)
I do enjoy this version but other than the general setup (their careers + 10:06 to 10:52 timeline) this is almost an entirely different drama to me. It is interesting, don't get me wrong but I really cannot bring myself to accept that this is a remake of 1006. 1006 is just on another level of sound production. A good standalone drama, but not so good remake. Feel like this version is lacking a bit in terms of that slice-of-life along with action kind of thing.
omg i totally agree with the whole suites comment LOL
(-^O^-)
