How To Share Amazon Prime Membership (Family & Friends)

Let's share your Amazon Prime membership with friends or family members in this quick and easy guide.
Amazon Prime allows you to add members to your Prime household. This will let them have their own login, they can add their address and credit card and buy anything they want using your Prime membership. In this video, I walk you through steps to add anyone to your membership by inviting them. This allows them to access your account and watch videos, read books, stream audiobooks, etc. using your account but their own profile. This process to add friends or family members works the same on iPhone or Android or any Mac or PC computer in 2021.

Added my wife, she already had an amazon account, she got the invite, but how exactly is she now sharing prime? Does she just sign in to her account [after accepting invite] and her account now has prime too?

No. Added my teen to the household only to discover that all of those previous video purchases are not shareable with her. She can select new content herself but it appears Amazon failed to do what I would consider to be a primary customer use case: Share all prior digital content. Big fail on Amazon's part. Lots of work put into getting my household set up only to hit wall after wall (this is not the first). Would love to hear if anyone found a way around this issue. Maybe I'm missing something.

what about credit card/debit card payment accounts? I want to add my BF and get him to get a debit card so he can buy his own things instead of going through me all the time. Can I just add his payment information and when he buys something he would choose his card? Seems confusing and prone to accidents and wrong cards being used...

The easiest solution for how to hide Amazon orders is to archive your purchased items. Once you archive your purchase, it will disappear from your order history. No need to worry, however, as you can always track your items among the archived orders.
