I personally really like Huetopian Dreams, but I can understand why people were disappointed, especially if you're a collector. But I appreciate her vision and presentation, and while I won't be getting it I'm always excited to see the build up to her palette releases, they always make me so happy.

I agree with you. This is interesting, but wearable. I would never buy something as expensive if I wouldn't use it regularly. Pastels and rainbows, i'm ok with colourpop, as I wear that sort of thing once ir twice a year. I'll probabably buy this one when it comes out.

Pats palettes are very complex and they need time studying the colors and how they could work best,but that is the beauty in make up..this is what makes it 🤩 fun

I was initially disappointed because I was expecting something else from the teaser promo stuff too but once I saw swatches I started falling in love with IX on its own merits - and I said to myself I gotta wait for Alicia to show me what’s what ❤️ so I’ll probably get it later in the year along with decadence

I like seeing Pat Mcgrath's new releases. I always wonder if the new one will be "the one for me" but it never happens haha. I love bright colors and such, which may be why. I think the new one is pretty! But still not for me? Haha perhaps I'm just not a PML type of gal. I love seeing people's reviews though 😆
Currently very neutral about it. I was hoping for a lavender matte instead of the peachy/pinks but the special shades look very nice. I'll watch reviews and if I love it I'll wait for one of Pat's sales
The lavender matte would’ve been cool, but maybe she wanted to have the more neutral colors debut with the newer matte formula in a big mothership. We shall see what does for Holiday!

Both are beautiful on you. I like how the Divine Rose II looks brighter and more youthful, but the Dive Rose looks meow subtle and sophisticated. I wish that I could just purchase that fabulous looking lavender in the new palette. I hope she doesn’t go too far down the CT Pillowtalk hole. I guess in the end it comes down to the best business decision for her brand.
I definitely hear you fam and agree. Just for me (even though I’m a nobody in the grand scheme of things) I fell in love with Pat’s brand not just because of the great quality, but her ability to provide unique color stories that could be bold or more natural but still more on the bold and unique side. Yes from a business perspective, these more “basic” palettes appeal to them but they don’t at the same time because those people normally don’t like formulas like the glittery blitz shades, or maybe they do and my observations are incorrect from what I’ve seen in the beauty space. I’m sadly going to pass on this one because it’s not unique enough from so many palettes I already own from her. Hopefully if she continues to feel like she wants to cater to what she believes will sell the most there can be something basic but different… the constant gold blitz and metallic shades need to take a rest 🤣 I am still looking forward to watching your reviews and demos when you get this new palette ☺️
I have a feeling it’s going to blow our socks off in person. And I’m looking forward to having her creamy matte formula in big mothership! I feel like the Astral Solstice shade was finer than the ones found in Midnight Sun. We’ll see if there is an improvement!
Did you notice that before she made her first Divine Rose palette (of which I feel she did gain inspiration from ABH Soft Glam palette 🤔) her Mothership palettes were more adventurous in color story? Once she hit on the Divine Rose color story it seems as though she hit on her Motherload in sellable color formula and she’s sticking with it. In a Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk fashion. 😉 Oh, and apparently gold is Dame Mother Pat’s favorite color and it’s her signature to put one in EVERY palette of hers. So, expect one in every palette. Lol! 🤩😂

Nice video! I encourage you to pursue with this series of revisiting older palettes. For the new PMG, I had a fantasy (actually a great hope) about a green oriented mothership! I guess we will have to wait a few more pink harmonies before that… I already have ritualistic rose, golden opulence and divine rose. I have enough rose something for the rest of the century!
Must be so hard to try to make everyone happy. As fun as it would have been to see a palette full or pastels/wow textures, I probably would not have purchased it. This divine rose inspired palette however has made me take a second look. I’m excited for the eye primer pen though!
I love watching you slapping on the makeup SO fast and it still looks amazing!! Your confidence and creativity when creating looks is so much fun! I feel exactly how you feel about this new palette. You are right and I love Mother and her products, I have all of her motherships and quads and 6 pans and I do love my DR I and II but I’m tired of the DR pink theme. With the rainbow teases I expected some blues and greens, a totally new color story. I’m part of those who are disappointed

I personally think Divine Rose is Mother Pat's most boring palette. What I love about Pat is that she is not afraid of bold and "difficult" colors. Her palettes make me feel more adventurous. Give me all the glitter, the Blitz and the duochromes! I think Huetopian Dream is a happy medium between safe and daring. Also, unpopular opinion: I'll never get tired of the golds!!!
Agree! I love feeling so baller in the special shades lol and I’m living my best smaug life - I’m sure i must have 20 different golds in my collection by now and I’m not mad about it 💛💛💛
I think all the people saying they wanted a rainbow explosion palette aren't even the people who would buy it in the first place. They just like the pictures on instagram and the idea of it. The actual palette buyers and wearers want something exactly like she put out which is actually more artistic than a unicorn bomb anyways.
Not necessarily... I was expecting rainbow and I buy all of her palettes. The teasers got me really excited for something new and different. I'm still gonna buy it, but I'm definitely a little disappointed in the color selection.

I should admit that DR1 and DR2 were not my jam. 🤷🏽♀️ I bought the little cardboard six pan because you demonstrated using it all over the face and I was like 🤔 yeah... okay... okay. Thank you for revisiting Divine Rose 1 & 2. I like being able to find new inspiration from "older" palettes that I already have in my collection. I played along with my own Divine Rose 2. I needed a look that wasn't my normal eyelid to brow brightly colored & intense sparkle for a meeting at my kid's school. I came up with a peachy- pink- slightly- sparkly- halo -eye. It turned out a lot more sedate than I expected (with that hot pink shade & the trio chrome staring at me intently). I used the peach on lid, brown in crease, plum in outer corner's edge, peachy duochrome in center of halo. I'm happy to have gotten such a nice & school meeting friendly look from DR2. I need to try going for something new & different from my beloved (& expensive) eyeshadow palettes. I do get into a rut sometimes. I look at the palette. I know the look that I always do whenever I use it. Thanks for help, Alicia! Also, I'm super excited to get the new PML palette. It looks beautiful to me. I may wait for it to come to Sephora. PML site delivery vis super slow. Like, 3 weeks slow. Sephora is usually here in 2 or 3 days. It'll be nice to have a nice full size palette with a fun box cover.
You are dead on about the huetopian pallete!! I just said yesterday. TF does not get any flack for his palletes at all. People have crazy expectations for PM. I was thrilled to see Pat’s new Huetopian Dream Mothership palette. The only Mothership palettes I currently own are Divine Rose I & II, so I find Huetopian Dream to be very appealing. I believe Pat’s most popular Mothership palette is Divine Rose I, so it makes perfect sense from a marketing standpoint that she would put out a palette with more wearable, everyday friendly shades.
I love when people reuse their palettes because it gives good ideas on new ways to use them since a lot of us only have a few palettes and can’t get all of them. Even though we may want too 😉.
The new Palette definitely looks underwhelming but I feel like it will look gorgeous in real life! I hope it's not limited edition 😂 and I agree with you, a rainbow inspired palette will not sell. Every rainbow inspired collection has ended up at Marshall's. I really want PML to do a gemstone palette that only has her glitter formulas and is inspired by different stones.... I would love a deep green shadow with a gold shift 😍 and even like a pure amethyst omg and omg my jaw dropped when you used the pink eyeshadow as a blush 😍😍😍 I know you have been using the shadows as blushes but why did my brain only actually process it now 😍😍😍
This is such a good idea - i live for the day when she will do motherships with dark green or navy blue as the deep matte - but I know I’m in the minority with my colourful looks at the office lol

I thought this was a video revealing the new palette! LOL When she revealed the palette I was disappointed because I expected green and purple and blue. I do see how the palette came about from the inspiration, but my imagination went wild. I like it more after seeing the swatches but I do think some opportunities were missed. This palette is wearable for people who care so much about that and that's why we have more browns and those light gold shades. Hopefully one day she can just go all out and not worry about the comments saying it's not wearable. Having said all that I will get the palette because some of the shades are unique and stunning to me. The only thing is I might wait until a 20-25% off sale. What I really want is that magic stick she's releasing with this collection.
I think it’s more not worrying about the comments, but what’s going to sell best. And the Asian market loves LOVES the soft pink hues. And they buy makeup like crazy. Based on the pattern we’ve seen, Pat only showcases two fun colors at the most per palette.
@@aliciaarcher I guess it's me being annoyed by the comments more than Pat but yeah that relates to what people actually buy. It would be my dream if she could throw a more adventurous quad or something between all the rosy stuff but that's probably asking too much.
People drive me nuts as well, and why I don’t read the comments. Because to invest so much time in expressing how disappointed you (not you but the commenters) are in a makeup product speaks volumes of the restlessness that is running rampant. I’m sure Pat would love to go wild, but that is the downside of having a world renowned brand 😪
I’ll wait for reviews before deciding but yes, I was expecting Fleur Fantasia 2.0. I also wished she released the blitz astral shades as a quad again 😂

I agree with you completely Alicia. I think Pat is held at a very high expectations level and I was surprised to see the same similar shades and I won’t lie, disappointed. I really wanted to see some new colors like mints and aquas maybe. I am very curious to see what they will truly look like once you get them. Can we at least say that lavender shade looks amazing!!
I love Divine Rose II so much. The mattes are gorgeous. I hope the mattes in Mothership IX vary enough. If they do, it’ll be worthwhile for me. Those coral/pink leaning shades just pop on the eyes. Love them. If we take a step back and look at this palette from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have EVERY Pat McGrath eyeshadow shade ever made (which are most consumers), it’s quite a lovely color story. It’s a Beautiful and unique palette for luxury makeup.
You just showed me another way to use my Divine Rose 1. Thank you for that. This is the only Mothership palette I have, & have been enjoying it, along with her latest quad. Sooooo gorgeous! While I was greatly hoping that we would see more green and blue, her inspo pics DEFINITELY illustrated pink, so I knew there would be pink. While I was a bit disappointed, it is very much a gorgeous palette and will deliver per usual! I’m fine with disappointment, dislike, don’t want it, price too much for me, it’s the exhaustive non ending complaining and bashes that agitates me and makes me mad. As if she is the only brand that uses the same colors over and over. Everyone does it. TF new Metallic Denim is basically the same as Soleil Neige.

I would have to disagree.... whilst I understand that pat is a brand and is there to make money... she shouldn't lose her identity and push for commercialism. Anyone brand can be same same. I bought into pat's brand because of her atristry and originality. I hope pat stays true to herself and not be sucked into things that sells. I'm fed of of commercial focused brands.
I’m so so so excited for it. I love all the colors. I’m really timid about dark colors and will feel a little more comfortable utilizing the hue too Ian shades even on my office workdays. I was also thinking that some of the colors looked familiar but will be buying it no matter what as well. 😍

I like your comics comparison - we didn't get a rainbow just like we didn't get Mephisto. But maybe one fine day, we will get greens cause we did get Kang as was expected. It is no coincidence that the best sellers of Charlotte Tilbury (Pillow Talk), NARS (Orgasm), PGM labs (Divine Rose) all are pink and mauve centered. I hope we will revisit the Midnight Sun realm one day. That is my favorite Mothership palette.

Girl - I love Pat too - MS #9 is a Devine Rose reheat. I was very disappointed but will buy it. Pat now needs to move on from the pink shades. 💋💋💋

Both are beautiful on you. I like how the Divine Rose II looks brighter and more youthful, but the Dive Rose looks meow subtle and sophisticated. I wish that I could just purchase that fabulous looking lavender in the new palette. I hope she doesn’t go too far down the CT Pillowtalk hole. I guess in the end it comes down to the best business decision for her brand.

I definitely hear you fam and agree. Just for me (even though I’m a nobody in the grand scheme of things) I fell in love with Pat’s brand not just because of the great quality, but her ability to provide unique color stories that could be bold or more natural but still more on the bold and unique side. Yes from a business perspective, these more “basic” palettes appeal to them but they don’t at the same time because those people normally don’t like formulas like the glittery blitz shades, or maybe they do and my observations are incorrect from what I’ve seen in the beauty space. I’m sadly going to pass on this one because it’s not unique enough from so many palettes I already own from her. Hopefully if she continues to feel like she wants to cater to what she believes will sell the most there can be something basic but different… the constant gold blitz and metallic shades need to take a rest 🤣 I am still looking forward to watching your reviews and demos when you get this new palette ☺️
I have a feeling it’s going to blow our socks off in person. And I’m looking forward to having her creamy matte formula in big mothership! I feel like the Astral Solstice shade was finer than the ones found in Midnight Sun. We’ll see if there is an improvement!
Did you notice that before she made her first Divine Rose palette (of which I feel she did gain inspiration from ABH Soft Glam palette 🤔) her Mothership palettes were more adventurous in color story? Once she hit on the Divine Rose color story it seems as though she hit on her Motherload in sellable color formula and she’s sticking with it. In a Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk fashion. 😉
Oh, and apparently gold is Dame Mother Pat’s favorite color and it’s her signature to put one in EVERY palette of hers. So, expect one in every palette. Lol! 🤩😂

Nice video! I encourage you to pursue with this series of revisiting older palettes. For the new PMG, I had a fantasy (actually a great hope) about a green oriented mothership! I guess we will have to wait a few more pink harmonies before that… I already have ritualistic rose, golden opulence and divine rose. I have enough rose something for the rest of the century!

Must be so hard to try to make everyone happy. As fun as it would have been to see a palette full or pastels/wow textures, I probably would not have purchased it. This divine rose inspired palette however has made me take a second look. I’m excited for the eye primer pen though!
I love my DR2. I also love the look of this new palette and I’m looking forward to getting it.

You are right and I love Mother and her products, I have all of her motherships and quads and 6 pans and I do love my DR I and II but I’m tired of the DR pink theme. With the rainbow teases I expected some blues and greens, a totally new color story. I’m part of those who are disappointed

I personally think Divine Rose is Mother Pat's most boring palette. What I love about Pat is that she is not afraid of bold and "difficult" colors. Her palettes make me feel more adventurous. Give me all the glitter, the Blitz and the duochromes! I think Huetopian Dream is a happy medium between safe and daring.
Also, unpopular opinion: I'll never get tired of the golds!!!
Agree! I love feeling so baller in the special shades lol and I’m living my best smaug life - I’m sure i must have 20 different golds in my collection by now and I’m not mad about it 💛💛💛
I think all the people saying they wanted a rainbow explosion palette aren't even the people who would buy it in the first place. They just like the pictures on instagram and the idea of it. The actual palette buyers and wearers want something exactly like she put out which is actually more artistic than a unicorn bomb anyways.
Not necessarily... I was expecting rainbow and I buy all of her palettes. The teasers got me really excited for something new and different. I'm still gonna buy it, but I'm definitely a little disappointed in the color selection.

Thank you for revisiting Divine Rose 1 & 2. I like being able to find new inspiration from "older" palettes that I already have in my collection.
I played along with my own Divine Rose 2. I needed a look that wasn't my normal eyelid to brow brightly colored & intense sparkle for a meeting at my kid's school.
I came up with a peachy- pink- slightly- sparkly- halo -eye. It turned out a lot more sedate than I expected (with that hot pink shade & the trio chrome staring at me intently).
I used the peach on lid, brown in crease, plum in outer corner's edge, peachy duochrome in center of halo. I'm happy to have gotten such a nice & school meeting friendly look from DR2.
I need to try going for something new & different from my beloved (& expensive) eyeshadow palettes. I do get into a rut sometimes. I look at the palette. I know the look that I always do whenever I use it. Thanks for help, Alicia!
Also, I'm super excited to get the new PML palette. It looks beautiful to me. I may wait for it to come to Sephora. PML site delivery vis super slow. Like, 3 weeks slow. Sephora is usually here in 2 or 3 days. It'll be nice to have a nice full size palette with a fun box cover.
You are dead on about the huetopian pallete!! I just said yesterday. TF does not get any flack for his palletes at all. People have crazy expectations for PM. I was thrilled to see Pat’s new Huetopian Dream Mothership palette. The only Mothership palettes I currently own are Divine Rose I & II, so I find Huetopian Dream to be very appealing. I believe Pat’s most popular Mothership palette is Divine Rose I, so it makes perfect sense from a marketing standpoint that she would put out a palette with more wearable, everyday friendly shades.
I enjoyed this video. I will play with my DR1 & 2 this weekend!

I love when people reuse their palettes because it gives good ideas on new ways to use them since a lot of us only have a few palettes and can’t get all of them. Even though we may want too 😉.
The new Palette definitely looks underwhelming but I feel like it will look gorgeous in real life! I hope it's not limited edition 😂 and I agree with you, a rainbow inspired palette will not sell. Every rainbow inspired collection has ended up at Marshall's. I really want PML to do a gemstone palette that only has her glitter formulas and is inspired by different stones.... I would love a deep green shadow with a gold shift 😍 and even like a pure amethyst omg and omg my jaw dropped when you used the pink eyeshadow as a blush 😍😍😍 I know you have been using the shadows as blushes but why did my brain only actually process it now 😍😍😍

This is such a good idea - i live for the day when she will do motherships with dark green or navy blue as the deep matte - but I know I’m in the minority with my colourful looks at the office lol

I thought this was a video revealing the new palette! LOL When she revealed the palette I was disappointed because I expected green and purple and blue. I do see how the palette came about from the inspiration, but my imagination went wild. I like it more after seeing the swatches but I do think some opportunities were missed. This palette is wearable for people who care so much about that and that's why we have more browns and those light gold shades. Hopefully one day she can just go all out and not worry about the comments saying it's not wearable. Having said all that I will get the palette because some of the shades are unique and stunning to me. The only thing is I might wait until a 20-25% off sale. What I really want is that magic stick she's releasing with this collection.
I think it’s more not worrying about the comments, but what’s going to sell best. And the Asian market loves LOVES the soft pink hues. And they buy makeup like crazy. Based on the pattern we’ve seen, Pat only showcases two fun colors at the most per palette.
@@aliciaarcher I guess it's me being annoyed by the comments more than Pat but yeah that relates to what people actually buy. It would be my dream if she could throw a more adventurous quad or something between all the rosy stuff but that's probably asking too much.
People drive me nuts as well, and why I don’t read the comments. Because to invest so much time in expressing how disappointed you (not you but the commenters) are in a makeup product speaks volumes of the restlessness that is running rampant. I’m sure Pat would

I agree with you completely Alicia. I think Pat is held at a very high expectations level and I was surprised to see the same similar shades and I won’t lie, disappointed. I really wanted to see some new colors like mints and aquas maybe. I am very curious to see what they will truly look like once you get them. Can we at least say that lavender shade looks amazing!!

I love Divine Rose II so much. The mattes are gorgeous. I hope the mattes in Mothership IX vary enough. If they do, it’ll be worthwhile for me. Those coral/pink leaning shades just pop on the eyes. Love them. If we take a step back and look at this palette from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have EVERY Pat McGrath eyeshadow shade ever made (which are most consumers), it’s quite a lovely color story. It’s a Beautiful and unique palette for luxury makeup.
You just showed me another way to use my Divine Rose 1. Thank you for that. This is the only Mothership palette I have, & have been enjoying it, along with her latest quad. Sooooo gorgeous! While I was greatly hoping that we would see more green and blue, her inspo pics DEFINITELY illustrated pink, so I knew there would be pink. While I was a bit disappointed, it is very much a gorgeous palette and will deliver per usual! I’m fine with disappointment, dislike, don’t want it, price too much for me, it’s the exhaustive non ending complaining and bashes that agitates me and makes me mad. As if she is the only brand that uses the same colors over and over. Everyone does it. TF new Metallic Denim is basically the same as Soleil Neige.
🤷🏽♀️ I don’t get it either. People are so hard on Pat, and forget that to be an artist and a brand at the same time is not easy. It’s a balance that’s always being challenged, and I think Pat does her best to sneak in her dazzling perspective with shades what will sell.
I would have to disagree.... whilst I understand that pat is a brand and is there to make money... she shouldn't lose her identity and push for commercialism. Anyone brand can be same same. I bought into pat's brand because of her atristry and originality. I hope pat stays true to herself and not be sucked into things that sells. I'm fed of of commercial focused brands.

I like your comics comparison - we didn't get a rainbow just like we didn't get Mephisto. But maybe one fine day, we will get greens cause we did get Kang as was expected. AND people still won't be happy. Lol. I can't wait to see your swatches and demo of Huetopian Dream.
I personally am not a pink and mauve lover but I recognize I am in the minority. It is no coincidence that the best sellers of Charlotte Tilbury (Pillow Talk), NARS (Orgasm), PGM labs (Divine Rose) all are pink and mauve centered.
I hope we will revisit the Midnight Sun realm one day. That is my favorite Mothership palette.
